Great reaction ! Angelina's M.O. is far above most artists out there today, and at age 17 she really shows us how one of the best, if not THE best female singer in the world, does her work. An example for others to aspire to, for sure. This ceremony is always held here in Norway, and she flew in from LA to perform in her home country. The Nobel Peace Prize is one of 5 Nobel Prizes awarded every year for worthy recipients. The peace prize recipients are nominated and chosen by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, appointed by the Parliament of Norway, as per the will of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish founder of the event. He was a Swedish chemist, engineer and inventor and was the one who invented dynamite. Not very peace-like, but still. The Nobel prizes have been awarded for the last 122 years, starting in 1901. This year's prize was awarded to women's rights advocate Narges Mohammadi from Iran for her work in fighting against the oppression of women in Iran. All the performers in the event were from Iran or had Iranian descent. Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani was born in Iran, and so I can imagine that performing here meant a LOT for Angelina and her family. Narges was sentenced to 31 years in jail and I believe 154 lashes. If you look up the lyrics and the story behind the song, you will understand that it was a beautiful choice for the occasion, and the lyrics may very well be interpreted as being told by Narges herself, and/or her family, which she hasn't seen in many years. Her son and daughter live in France, and they came to Norway to receive the prize in their mother's place. All in all this was an extremely beautiful performance, one which suits Angelina perfectly, as she has helped raise millions of dollars through the years for various charity events, and she has even been seen in the streets of LA, helping underprivileged people. A tradition that she carries on from her childhood, where her Japanese grandfather and husband to her Iranian grandmother) could be seen in the streets of Oslo, the capital of Norway, doing the same deeds. As an example, she donated the 50.000 USD that she got for winning Norway's Got Talent when she was 8, to charity. And also, she always performs barefeet to remind herself of an encounter she had with a girl from the Middle East when she was 6 years old, who was weighing people on the streets to make a living for her and her siblings, as they had no parents and were homeless. The girl had scarry feet and had no shoes, so Angelina gave her shoes to the girl. She later wrote a book about this encounter, called "Between Two Hearts", and became Norway's youngest published author at age 9. If you pay close attention, you will see that Angelina was yet again performing barefoot, staying true to herself in remembrance of the girl she met. Angelina is a beautiful human being inside and out, and an incredibly worthy artist to perform at this event. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

The simplicity of Angelina Jordan is deceptive because she is a "SHAMAN". Shamans Genius: Exceptional intellectual or creative power, the greatest musical genius of our time is Angelina Jordan. Can one be hypnotized by sound? Shamans use rhythmic drumming and chanting to achieve control over a mind. Angelina's is unique in that she has the ability to create audios that trigger your brains "frequency following response". She has the ability to create a euphoric addiction to her total being similar to drugs, but without the side effects, she is in fact, like nothing I have ever experienced in the past, or more than likely to in the future. Extraterrestrials, If you have ever questioned whether there are extraterrestrials among us, you now know it to be true, it is the only explanation for this being, © Larry D. Pifer

This video is a masterpiece that I have watched more than 50 times. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains captivity today in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. The song captures his emotions of loneliness, hope and longing, and has been covered by many artists over the years, but none in my lifetime of 76 years have conveyed such emotion as Angelina Jordan did at this performance. © Larry D. Thank you so much for your reaction to this stunning performance. Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking my fellow angels to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness, is what Angelina always reminds us to do. We angels, need to honor Angelina by doing what we can to be kind to others. The smallest acts of kindness can make a difference.

Thanks to Andy Schnell for some of this information. I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Angelina Jordan is The Sound Of Music. Angelina Jordan is a remarkable vocal artist that possesses a rare talent: she has a photographic memory for sound. This means that she can recall and reproduce any sound she hears with perfect accuracy and pitch. She applies this skill to her musical performances, especially when she covers songs by other vocal artists. She does not merely imitate them, but rather uses their voices as inspiration and reference points for her own unique interpretations. She can capture the essence and emotion of any song, while adding her own flair and style to it. There is a difference between a good singer and a great singer. A good singer can capture the moment, but a great singer can transform the moment into ART. ART is not just a representation of reality, but an expression of vision. ART should always transcend the ordinary, and Angelina Jordan accomplishes this in every performance. © Larry D. Pifer

Nobel Peace Prize was honoring Narges Mohammadi who was jailed for womens/human rights in Iran, which is the country Angelina's grandma Mery Zamani is from. She was sentenced to 31 years along with 154 lashes. Narges two children, Angelina's age was their to accept the award. Angelina's choice of the song Unchained Melody because of the history of the song relating to Narges. Unchained Melody was written for a 1955 movie called Unchained. It was a story of a man imprisoned longing for his loved ones. So this was also an honor for Angelina. Excellent reaction, hope to hear more. Merry Christmas my friend.

Nice reaction to perfection, Thanks. BTW if you want to hear an orchestra try John Farnham doing "Help" with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra from about 1989. The man has a unique voice (like our Angelina does) and it would not waste your time. Just have to make sure you get the right video, he is wearing a white shirt.

Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 (the charity work of Angelina Jordan is only one of the many things that makes her so special.) Angelina Jordan's historical journey is captivating, as she showcases her talent at the age of17 with a voice that transcends time and space, Angelina Jordan mesmerized the world with her rendition of "Unchained Melody" at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2023. Accompanied by the KORK orchestra, the 17-year-old singer paid tribute to Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award, and remains in captivity today in Iran. No one comments that she left out part of the 2nd verse. Time constraints? Still a beautiful masterpiece by a goddess that should have been longer in duration. When she starts singing “I need your love…” at the end I knew immediately that she had shortened the end of the song and wondered why.
