Angelina is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity. 😢 I've been watching this young lady's trip to this point for about ten years now. I absolutely love her. Almost every time she sings, she hits me in the feelings. I am sure she will continue to set the bar higher as she goes making the rest of the industry sit up take note and get back to producing Real good wholesome and enjoyable music again. You know how those competitions are, they need "drama" so they told her to say she won Norway got talent at 7, truth is she was 7 when she entered the competition and sang the first 2 songs but she was 8 for bang bang and summertime when she won. Yeah 8 by the time she won. Guess on the spot she just thought of being 7 at NGT because she was when she started the show, turned 8 during. Insanely good performance, this was her big moment, she was big news and I think her future was never in doubt really, but it was her introduction to America in a sense. So to do so well, in such a bold song choice, changing a classic so much, that's wild. Getting to cheer for someone so deserving in so many ways is half the fun of being a fan of hers. Like a double entertainment, listening to her the artist and watching her make her dreams come true. This performance is likely a huge leg up when she gets rolling with original albums soon, for a bigger base now and a quicker rise to the top.

Hi. I would recommend Angelina singing STAY. With Ivan Mendes playing the guitar. This is greatness and will take your breath away. Awesome reaction and to set the record straight! She was a 7 year old entrant, so that is why she said she won at 7, but had turned 8 before the competition ended. She didn't even make the top 5 here, but I personally believe her and her family were behind it. It would have shot her to Super Stardom and they want her to finish school and have as much of a normal childhood as possible. She also didn't sign the normal contract. They tried for 2 years to get her on the show and finally agreed to her terms. Also, AGT took their video off U-Tube within a few days, claiming copyrights. Funny, Queen was so impressed, they tweeted, "WOW", and then gave her the rights to her version of "Bohemian Rhapsody". Why has AGT ever re-posted their video, go figure, God Bless!

I remember the 13 yr old girl you were talking about, who sang Feeling Good on American X Factor. Her name is Carley Rose Sonenclar and she was great but as happens with many young acts, they fade away as they get older because their voices change and mature and not many are blessed in this transition. Many mature into average vocalists and some ruin or loose their voices from repeating bad habits picked up at a young age. Carley was one of those vocalist that grew up with an average, but pleasant voice that lost its magical quality in my opinion. Now Angelina, on the other hand; is a musical prodigy, who started singing before she could speak full sentences at 1& 1/2 yrs of age. By age 3 she was absorbing every great Jazz artist she could find on KZbin. Her version of Bohemian Rhapsody is a heartfelt Jazz rendition of, arguably, Queens' most famous song, known all around the world. This is nothing short of genius and that's at the age of 13!!! The best word to describe "that" (what you just witnessed) is "prodigy." Angelina was absolutely born to sing, as one of the NGT judges opined after her first audition on that show. And don't be afraid to cry when listening to Angelina; it will happen. I've seen very experience teachers and vocal coaches moved to tears by her (you'd be in good company, at least). AJ has the ability to touch my heart like no other vocal artist I can name. Keep up the good work; I'm in!

Simon tried for years to get her on AGT, but her family refused to sign his standard contract... She appeared here after the producers agreed to her conditions. She didn't win (perhaps because of this?), but it doesn't matter. Queen posted her performance on their Twitter account and then gave her the performance copyright to her arrangement! Also, Heidi gave her the Golden Buzzer and they've become good friends! Loved your reaction! Looking forward to more. Thanks!

Deborah, to confirm your statement I will post an extract of the interview her uncle and manager Michael Astar gave Music Norway website (available on the internet). Quote "America Got TalentAGT (America Got Talent) had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs, she is great for their TV show and Angelina will get the exposure she needs to breakthrough, because I knew, the talent is one of the kind like no other, I just needed her to be seen and was on a daily hunt for how to get the right spot for her in the USA.” Signed with Republic Records Angelina Jordan has now signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Absolutely amazing performance from a musical genius, After this performance Angelina received a tribute message from Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen congratulating Angelina on an amazing performance and the guys from Queen gave her the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, this performance from Angelina she received the Golden Buzzer and straight to the final of the show, and Angelina’s performance has around 110 million views, also it was classed as the best audition on a talent show, Angelina the barefoot princess with a Thousand different voices, great reaction thanks ❤

What a fabulous reaction. I had the exact same response to this performance. Like you, I saw her NGT performance of Summertime first, then just went on a binge in 2019 (this was before this AGT video was released). This performance justifies everything we "older" AJ fans believed was in store. AJ's BR is so different, so unique, so brilliant in so many dimensions. Solo guitar and then piano -- there is nowhere to hide any vocal mistakes. Everything is a foil for her voice. No studio, no auto-tune, no retakes. AJ, a guitar, a piano. Come on. And of course this is her own arrangement. Hana, thanks for bringing this up for a reaction!

You're going to have that same problem with a lot of her songs. When she was on Norway's Got Talent an older woman told her that she made her cry, and Angelina apologized saying she was sorry and that she didn't mean to. She said the woman just hugged her. She has that same effect on a lot of us, and even after 6 years of following her, I still wipe the tears from my eyes daily when I listen to her. She has around 200 videos on KZbin, and seriously, you really can't choose a bad one, some are just better than others. Her black and white video of her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins "I Put A Spell On You" at 9, "Feeling Good" at 10, "I'm Still Holding Out For You" at 10, tribute to Whitney Houston "I Have Nothing" at 13 and her newer version at 16. The list could go on and on. Just keep reacting and her Angels (her name for her fans) will be here to listen.

Hi Room2703 Reacts, I havn't read all the other 143 comments here ;-)))) ...but I wanted to know you this: Yes, Angelina said she was 7 yo when she won NGT - she entered 7 yo and I think the age at entering is the "noticed" age for such a show (I hope you understand, what I mean ;) ) but there are several months between entering and the final show and Angelinas birthday (born Jan. 10th 2006) was in between so she was 8 when she won. ...but at the end it doesn't matter 😁 Have a good day and stay well and healthy. Wow - thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another masterful performance by Angelina - this time reinterpreting a Queen classic & making it her own. All your comments were spot on. Btw- Angelina did get the golden buzzer from Heidi, but that part wasn't included in this particular video. I believe Angelina has been blessed by GOD with the innate gifts of not only a beautiful voice, but also the ability to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls allowing us to also deeply FEEL her singing as the music flows through her. IMHO she is the best female singer that I have heard in my lifetime (& I just turned 73 :). Looking forward to more of your Angelina reactions. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

There may have been some confusion about the question and answer, but I believe she was asked by AGT to say 7 even though she had turned 8 by the time she was declared the winner of the 2014 NGT. They probably wanted to maximize her WOW effect on the show (and their ratings).

Angelina was not s as blue to win this contest due to refusal to sign a binding contract with Syco records.
