A true diamond in the rough. A real gem. The Angels already filled you in on her enormous talent so I will just add 'Welcome to the Wonderfull World of Angelina Jordan. It will amaze and inspire you. And this little tidbit. Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZbin before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. First time I saw Gloomy Sunday I was underwhelmed, cause I didn't realize how could she was (It just didn't compute). I've watched countless times since, and I dare say it still gets more impressive. Watch her mike technique, and realize it's all intentional. She absolutely knows what she is doing, and she's absolutely fantastic.

My friend, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!" You did say you were aware that's she now 16 so, can you possibly imagine what you have missed? Btw, at 16 she's stands over 6' tall. What you will also find out about her is she is a beautiful human being and since the age of 8 she has performed many times to support children's charities and has help raise millions of dollars. Perhaps you didn't notice it but Angelina performs barefoot whenever she is singing in public and when you find out why your heart will want you to never let her go. Her fan base (her 'angels') will be sending you data (playlists and personal info) about her and of course they will be recommending music they would like you to react to. It's okay for you to bounce around listening to her at 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 years old because all of her video's are "keepers" if you know what I mean. All of us have our 'top ten' list of our favorite Angelina video's but the problem is we have about 100 of her songs in our top ten. Let me suggest one for you to listen to: At 10 years old, sitting at home in a chair, she sings 'My Funny Valentine'. Note: she has recently sung it again at 16 years old. It you want to it would be great if you ran a two performance video of her singing the song at 10 and follow it when she was 16. What's so interesting about doing the two video's together is that although the 16 year old version is incredibly wonderful, many of us like her version at 10 years old even more. What !?!?! Seeing and listening is believing.

She is 7 years old in the audition. The second piece (an elimination round) was required to be a cappella. She is newly 8 at this second piece. You need to listen to Billie Holiday in these songs and compare the two. Because, she was emulating Billie Holiday. Ella Fitzgerald on "Summertime." Nice first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. She entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 16 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. She is working on a new album of original music which will be coming out next year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

7 good sir, turned 8 during the show. It's cool you started near the beginning. A beautiful kid inside who deserves all the love and exposure she can get. They aren't promoting her til the team, her family, gives Republic Records the OK to do so, but her natural growth before than will help early momentum. She deserves to know she made it overnight when that all starts for her. To me, she is the most versatile and best singer I've ever heard at only 16 years old now. The skill set, control, voice and artistry is unreal. She can carry us away to another dimension in so many different ways. Any of a hundred different suggestions would be unique and amazing so you can't go wrong really. Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT at 13, and I put a spell on you at 9 years old on her channel, are the ones people really need to see early on it seems.

Angelina has occasionally had contact with singing teachers. But not so much to change her self-taught way of singing, but more to learn how to protect her amazing voice. Angelina, 5-6 yo, attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, She learned to play piano, guitar etc. She has also learned to arrange music etc. She started singing when she was very young! Since then, she has trained an incredible amount. I have heard that she practiced several hours a day, already at the age of 4-5.

Thank you for playing Angelina's debut on a public stage. Here she is 7 yo, but she wanted to debut several years earlier. She didn't get that as the artists had to be at least 7 yo. She competed against many adults and won in the end with 46% of the vote. She is never nervous but maybe a little shy. She has said that she prefers singing to talking.

Angelina isn’t just a normal child prodigy she understands the craft from a young age and arranges everything she sings, her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody on Americas got talent when Angelina was 13 years old has around 110 million views and is classed as the best audition ever on a talent show , and after Angelina’s performance of Bohemian Rhapsody she received a tribute message from Brian May and Roger Taylor congratulating her on an amazing performance, and the guy’s from Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina in Norway Got Talent was 7 years old with her arrangement of Gloomy Sunday, and at the end of the show when Angelina won she was 8 years old, great reaction thanks 🙏

Thank you for your genuine reaction. Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 170 songs in her repertoire. In 2020 she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. Hi there - just subbed to whitness your journey with my Granddaughter by heart Angelina Jordan Astar - for me the last song i watched and listenend is the best until i go to the next one - you can swich from 16 to 6 years (yes she has a decade of experiance at age 16...) every song is outstanding - Angelina has this rare Gift to let you feel the song - dont get me wrong there are a lot of very good singer out there but with Angelina i feel every song because of her unique emotional singing - by the way she is the youngest published author in Norway at 9 years of age - she speaks at least Norwegian Swedish Parsi and English in Native tong - some Japanese from her Grandfather and some German from school - i watched a new tiktok where she sang in Spanish so maybe she started study this language too (as she has a huge Spanish fanbase this would be a good choice) - when she will graduate next year she will skyrocking and taking over IMHO - cheers from a 58 year old fanboy from Germany

Actually 7. She won NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. If you want to see 9 year old Angelina, there's one song that will blow your mind. It's the black and white studio recording of Screamin Jay Hawkins 1956 jazz classics, "I Put a Spell on You". It's on her official channel, and has nearly 11 million views, with many millions more on reactor channels. This black and white performance has been called by many, a "masterpiece cover" of Jay's original. Where did she come from? She began teaching herself to sing at 2-3 years old, learning from the jazz masters of old. Her first studio recording was made at 6 years old, where she sings Ben E. King's "I Who Have Nothing". She's been under the radar since winning NGT, as her parents want her to enjoy as normal a childhood as possible. Turning down 90% of the requests, she's still traveled the world and preformed for Heads of State, and met Obama when she was in the US at 8. She made her big step onto the world stage when she performed "Bohemian Rhapsody" at 13 years old for America's Got Talent The Champions. Her arrangement and performance was so superb that she received a golden buzzer and was later congratulated by Queen for her performance. Queen also gave Angelina the rights to her version of their song. I recommend this as your next stop.

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. Many thanks for reacting to my all time favorite musical artist. I truly believe Angelina was given the gift of song to draw attention to her message of love, peace and empathy. Please read the biography I compiled for her. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZbin went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZbin video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZbin, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music.

Actually 7 years old here and if you go listen to the Billy Holiday version of this song you may find that the 7 year old pretty much nailed it with the pitch, the jazz nuances, technique, well pretty much all of it. The second song, A Cappella "I'm A Fool To Want You, is again "pitch perfect" and in the style of Billy and likely just turned 8 here, the beautiful vibrato, Melisma's and jazz techniques and nuances are fabulous. Angelina did "Summertime" in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and if you would like to hear just how much I suggest you listen to Ella's version I believe performed in the 1960's. Angelina did get better with each performance as she was then growing and building more confidence. Actually, she was 7 on the first two songs, and 8 when she performed the 2 live shows. She won the competition with 46% of all the votes - that's between 10 finalists! I'm so glad you reacted to Angelina. She has a massive and very supportive fan base - we call ourselves 'angels' - and you are about to be bombarded with information and requests from them! Yes, do reaction to Bohemian Rhapsody, but also dip into her earlier performances. I strongly recommend I Put a Spell on You (a Screaming Jay Hawkings cover) at age 9 and 2 months. Also recommended is Fly Me to the Moon, on The View (aged 8), and Feeling Good (with the Gir Tilbake livestream, aged 10). And there are many, many more! age 7 for the first 2 and 8 for the last 2 NGT performances... for age 9, listen to her B&W version of I Put a Spell on You (Screamin' Jay Hawkins' shock song & performance) - fasten your seat belt first the first song is not recorded very well so it is hard to hear all the subtle things she is doing but if you compare the performance w/ Billie singing you will see AJ has captured the subtleties of the performance to an incredible level the recording quality is much better on the second two so you can hear her more clearly

During her performance of gloomy Sunday the first female judge with the dark hair nailed it when she said that she is music! Musical intelligence of this young lady is immeasurable, maybe a handful of the people I've seen the reactions have an ear that clues them in to just what they're listening to. So I suggest what I suggest to everyone else do your homework before you talk too much, some have more homework than others but nonetheless do your homework it would be helpful

It was fair. To talk without knowing what you are talking about is both everyone's individual fault, and a reactors job. If he listened again afterwards he would hear it differently with a more attuned ear to what he was hearing. It was amazing, and I think you nailed it. It showed an otherworldly understanding of music for child more than anything. Not everyone knows what they are listening to all the time, no one is even as emotionally available as they would like to be all the time either. That exact performance can fall on deaf ears very easily and often does. I was struck by the kid doing something seasoned professionals would struggle to feel out so well, but it took me two listens to hear the nice voice and performance as well, I'm not a Jazz or music expert at all. My tastes have been more or less changed by Angelina, so often these days her performances are so good and vocally complicated it takes me a few tries to soak it in, so often as a child her performances needed that same amount of time for me to soak them in for different reasons, mostly tastes and unfamiliarity with her genres and styles.

Hi Leslie - firstly thanks for watching, always appreciated. I think I said just that didn't I? That to me, her voice hadn't developed because she was so young? It wasn't a critique per se but an observation. But I think I was also able to appreciate a quality to her voice and just being honest with what I heard initially. As I say, I am just a regular dude who loves music and will just give my opinion on what I hear - and for me, each performance got better and better... so hopefully that doesn't offend anyone - I'd have a pretty hollow reaction channel if I wasn't reacting honestly lol and I'm also really looking forward to diving into more of what I'm seeing of the "barefoot princess" 😊❤

I don't know which intention the channel "TALENTKINGHD" has, to edit this video like it is… unfortunately the material was not the best. Yes - all the performances from NGT are fantastic and worth to be reacted to... but I think it's better to react to each separated, because in the mix with all in one video is too much cut out: Also watch out which version you take: E.G. from "I'm a fool to want you" which AJ sings a capella there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out (and "TALENTKINGHD" has taken this bad version). And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... That performance at age 9 In my opinion, Angelina is the best female voice alive today. I am a 67 year old guy in the U.S. and AJ's performance on AGT of Bohemian Rapsody.
