I love the fact that Angelina dont flaunt a high pitch or such, just to show of her range . I find it so soulful , heartfelt, and with such ease . At age 13...such expressiveness and intensity of raw emotion! That she organizes and arranges her work is SO amazing! She's now playing guitar as well...in her cover of the Elvis early 70s smash hit "Suspicious Minds". Granted, she only strums the red electric guitar, but also, in an homage to The "King", she dons a black...ala' in his 1968 comeback TV concert...leather outfit and sports a Priscilla Presley beehive hairdo. Her kid sisters are so sweet and beautiful in the video, which showcases her naturally lowering vocal register. Amazing talent!

Every time I hear a new reactor to Angelina Jordan say: "I really liked that, if anyone out there knows of other performances I should watch", a huge grin suddenly creases my wrinkled old face. You have no idea how your comment section is about to blow up with links and suggestions to the more than 125 covers and originals she has on KZbin. Every one a gem. Country, Blues, Disco, Jazz, Folk, Rock and Roll, R and B, Pop. From George Gershwin to Michael Jackson to Whitney Houston to Adele to The Mamas and Papas to Ella Fitzgerald to Amy Winehouse to Frank Sinatra, with the occasional original sprinkled in for good measure. All of them worth a listen and reaction. A lot of them better than the originals. Some with her sitting in her little home studio with just a backing track or even just a single acoustic guitar player, and others in a stadium filled with forty thousand people and a live feed to millions more. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Once you fall down this rabbit hole, you'll want to pull it in after you and stay in her Wonderland - a fan for life. Incredible is an understatement for this artist so here are a few things you might like to know.1st she does all her own arrangements she designed and made her out fit used in the show,it's designed around her grandmas art.She has helped raise over 20 million for child charities ,has performed by invitation fo Barak Obama,Quincy Jones and Jennifer Hudson.At 8yrs old she sang at the Nobel Peace awards and has performed for the King of Norway.Not much you might think but add in the achievement of being Norway's youngest published author and you begin to suspect she might be special,Then you here her sing and you KNOW she is a bloody genius!!!!!!Oh i forgot at 10 she was jamming at Gene Simmons mansion with the man himself,also english is her 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi.There's heaps more but i am old and knackered and it's nearly 1.30 am here in New Zealand so off to sleep i go.Thanks for a great reaction.

So I grew up in a time when Queen was everything, listening to bohemian rhapsody in its original form. Getting ready for school and singing along to “I want to break free”. It was everything back then for us. So growing up I’ve heard many people mutilate this song and not really found anyone who could even come close to doing the song justice in any way. Then I heard this version by Angelina Jordan and my jaw hit the floor in a really good way. Please bare in mind that I can hold a note about as well as a bucket with no bottom can hold water!! But to hear that song done in that way was so hauntingly mesmerising that suddenly all I could hear was her voice, and that was crazy amazing. And it is the first cover of that song that also does it any justice. Liked your reaction to it as well and I’m a new subscriber, just cos I can’t sing don’t mean I can’t appreciate beautiful music!! ✌️✌️

I was 12 years old in 1964 when I first heard “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles. After listening to that and the flip side of the 45 RPM, “I Saw Her Standing There” hundreds of times, I literally remember feeling an electricity in the air that something was changing in our world (as much as I could at age 12). I am 68 now and, after listening to Angelina Jordan sing, I feel that same electricity once again. We know the impact that The Beatles had (and still have) on the world, and I truly feel that Angelina could be as influential as them. She is destined to be a superstar!

I am not used to understanding or hear musical analyzes but I am an architect, I also have joined many literature courses, and the things we analyze or take into consideration are about the same that you comment on music! It is fascinating and I learn a lot about it! You know, if you start a novel, the FIRST sentence you put there, is the most important. Now I see that in the music, the first tones the artist release, are the most important. Every time, when I see the videos of Angelina Jordan, you do not have to listen to 2 minutes, not even 1 minute, when you are just "N", She does it every time. She is like an author who every time succeed to capture his/her audience's attention in the first sentence. Many people can say: wonderful wonderful" That is it. Why it is wonderful? But you got it. You say it. You explain it. It gives more knowledge, more information than the average. I think that now I can listen and analyze some things that that I was never able to do before. Oh, this TONE2, this colour of the voice, how she is changing it, has she molds it, how it turns to become different colours. what b-flat or whatever... Thank you! But first of all: there is a FEELING she puts in her singing, that matters, without any specific musical analyzes.

You asked for Angelina recommendations. There are about 6 years worth because she sings like this all the time. Whitney Houston, Elvis, Amy Winehouse nailed. Mamas and Papas, Lana Del Rey and like nailed. Every great Jazz singer from Billy Holiday to Ella Fitzgerald nailed. There is an acapella version of her singing "I'm a Fool to Want You" (Holiday), from very early on (2014), which you will need to hunt out the full length vocal for; a lot of folk have the spliced (inferior version )uploaded, but the full one is still on YT. Angelina is the very best vocalist there is, and has been for a long, long time.

What a great breakdown and analysis of this performance. I've seen and listened to quite a few people (some voice coaches) attempt to explain what this phenomenal singer is doing with this song, and (IMO) your's is the best. I learned several new things from your take on it. You have a new subscriber in me. And I think many of Angelina's fans will feel the same. Angelina is a phenomenal singer. But she is also a fantastic (re)arranger of other's songs. And then she has the unique capacity to modify her voice to fit the new arrangement. If you react to more of her covers you will see what I'm saying. Since there are well over 100 of these covers out there, I don't know the best plan for pursuing her library of performances. Angelina arranges her own music. She has been singing in front of people since she was young, not that 13 is a ripe old age, but I have never seen her nervous or afraid. She has sung in front of large crowds and small gatherings and she approaches them both the same. She was invited by Quincy Jones to sing at his 85th birthday celebration. He had heard her sing, 'Fly Me To The Moon' it may have even been his arrangement. He was very taken with her. I think I read somewhere where he compared her vocal ability to Michael Jackson. That as a young artist was the best he had seen since Michael. I haven't been able to find a direct quote, but I have read a couple of times, and since I think of her that way...... Anyway I think she is very good with conveying the emotional intensity of any song she gets a hold of. She finds a way to the center of your heart and jams all that emotion into you somehow. She has a special kind of soul she sings with that I can only believe will become better with age. Anyway she sings an acappella version of, 'I'm A Fool To Want You', that has no right coming out of a 7 year old's mouth. She starts it much like this song, without a pitch-pipe or piano note to get her started. I have heard a lot of young singers, older ones too, that have trouble with a song like that. And the shape of her version: whisper to singing to screaming to singing to whisper. And how her whispering sounds like wind blowing, which is the lyric at that point. Very good, it is the best analysis I have read about Angelina's performance. I discovered her when she won the GOT Talent of Norway, therefore I have followed her career and professional growth with his fourteen years. excellent your criticism, very tight and knowledgeable of music. History was made, If anyone's brave enough to do this song, they'll be doing her rendition of the song & they'll be compared to her, for it's her song now. Think of it , she took a iconic classic rock opera & stripped it down & turned it into a jazzy/bluesy soulful ballad at age 13. Please support her music, CD's, iTunes, ect.. Put her on your playlist...So many (even Disney) producers have been trying to get her to sign with them. Her & her mom just tell them no, (she wants to finish school 1st). They would just ruin her & spit her out once they made their money off of her. Her family is very protective of her, they even formed her a production co. (Angelina Jordan inc.) So she can go to school & be free from contracts & explore & do music the way she feels it should be done. She's a talent that comes by once in a lifetime maybe once every hundred years. Angie is music. She can do any genre & sound better than most originals & she's still very young too. She’s 14 as of 1-10-20. She made her outfit using the pattern of an artwork, of her grandmother's She makes several of her outfits too. A God given voice & talent. What amazing timbre, tone, texture, vibrato & amazing rare skill of tremolo & the pitch perfect skill also ect ect.. She's very sweet, humble, giving & loving in real life too. She rearranges & composes her songs while still being respectful to the original. She has written 3-4 songs plays 4-5 instruments, speaks 3-4 languages et, etc.. .English isn’t her 1st language, it’s her 3rd. She's already had 2+ songs written for her.
