I generally agree with your reactions, but we are miles apart on this one. I think it’s one of Angelina’s best. I understand that the release of this was not legit, but now we’ve heard it. I almost never like a song the first time I hear it, but this was so good. It was Angelina grabbing the emotional content of the lyrics and pouring it out. And she has that amazing ability of finding a style and vocal timbre that enhances the lyrics. I thought it was amazing. Ten years old? It would be hard for me to think of anyone who could do this better. I’ve never heard this song before, but I think she’s killed it for anyone else.

Amen!! I have been saying this since I first heard this song!! I COULDN'T get ENOUGH of this song when I first heard it. You will get a lot of conflicting information on this video. There are many theories and rumors, but there are only a handful of known facts about it. The only hard facts are these: 1) This audio was a demo recorded by Angelina for a song written by artist Babyfuzz. 2) Angelina has said that she will never perform this song again. 3) The demo was never released by Angelina, but rather stolen from her and leaked. Those are the only known facts... Anything else said about this is rumor and/or speculation. Some fans promote this video, and some (like myself) do not promote it (based on the fact that it is a stolen work). One thing that most fans agree on with this one... it is an incredible vocal.

Is there a source for that statement? The song was released in 2019, with a production that is partly the same as in Angelina’s recording. It’s a bit hard to believe that she made it as early as 2016.

@@xartisan576 The song was written summer of 2016 in Oslo, by Brandon Lowry and 3 friends. They sent it out to a few selected singers to sing it autumn 2016. The demo was rehearsed and finished around the end of 2016, and/or the early start of 2017. There are sources for that. Brandon Lowry had no luck finding what he was looking for, so the original was released Nov 30, 2018, after he decided to sing it himself. Avicii did his suicide April 2018, probably having influence on Angelinas decision never to sing it again.

The fact that those three friends co-wrote Sheild with Angelina tells me that there was indeed discussions between Lowry and Angelina’s team (though he seems to deny that), and the idea that Avicii’s passing made Angelina refuse to release It or sing it seems plausible. This is on most "Angels" top 5 list, including mine. There is a very long backstory about this song which Angie sang as a demo when she was 10, 2 years before Baby Fuzz recorded the original. Maybe Rusty Shackelford or another fan can give you the details. I just love it but she says she will never sing it again. There is lots of intrigue, rumors & falsehoods with the story that I'm tired of hearing about. I just know I wish she would record it on her label so I can buy it. It's very rare to find a reactor that wasn't blown away by this, I think you are the first I can recall.

Keith Serafy I agree completely. We’ve all become accustomed to Angelina’s talent, but this performance is Angelina hitting on all cylinders. The voice she has chosen fits the lyrics perfectly. She expresses the emotion behind those lyrics so realistically. And what is hard to define, but is so apparent is how Angelina connects with the listener-it’s her soul flowing to your soul, not to a larger audience. This would be an amazing performance for a seasoned singer who’s experienced the devastating rejection life can bring to us. That a ten year old can capture that and render it so artistically is hard to believe, but here it is.

She has sang other songs like gloomy Sunday. I think the controversy over this song is a legal one. And her camp did not want to be accused of stealing this song. It would make her look bad. Someone from his team had to have mixed this with his track. And coached her on how it should sound. And yes maybe they wanted to change lyrics. She did not sing the F bomb that was in his demo. Baby Fuzz claims to have not known about her demo. Who knows? Her version is impressive considering her age. His is irritating to listen to. He should have shopped her demo. Jeffrey Jameson The purpose of demos is to get an artist interested in picking up the rights to a song and producing it themselves, they were never intended for distribution. It sounds like they all were at some kind of song writing camp or something, even those who helped Angelina with “Shield” but it doesn’t sound like they were communicating with each other, but that’s neither here or there, what’s important to remember is that it’s leaked because whoever had control over Angelina’s demo released it without her or Baby Fuzz’s knowledge or permission, and that was wrong. They should have had the guts to approach them and work out an arrangement to produce an official version featuring Angelina, it would have been incredible especially after Angelina put her spin on it, but we must chalk it up as a lost opportunity. Maybe now after it’s viral nature they may be able to get together, but as always you have to manage egos which may not be able to get over!

This IS the original. Baby FuzZ did his own later. According to one source, she traveled to a studio in London to record this. Baby FuzZ denies this. But, that would account for the voice processing and professional touch. We are not sure when she recorded this - probably 10 or 11 years old.

Hi GW. I do agree on the reverb on it. I think if Angie got to do it her way, & get to change the words to her liking, It would of been a top for me. I do wish that Angie was able to change the lyrics like she did in Back to Black & make this more age appropriate & more positive while still keeping her voice timbre & texture. This song has never been released by Angelina as a cover or original. This is what happened. BabyFuzz wrote this song in 2016 and wanted s vocalist to sing his song. BabyFuzz worked with Frida Amundsen, Axel Carlsson and Ronnie Jansen on the arrangement. These 3 also worked with arranging Angelina's own song "Shield". So they knew what an excellent singer Angelina is. The result was that Angelina was asked to sing a demo of I'm Holding Out For You". That was recorded so it could be shown to BabyFuzz suggesting Angelina as his vocalist for the song. However, Angelina changed her mind and didn't want to have anything to do with the song because of the strong lyrics at the end. It was around the time in 2018 she lost her friend Avicii so that could have influenced her change of mind. However, someone had posted the demo video on Reddit where it was grabbed by a person. This person posted the video on KZbin where the Angelina fans first heard it. Angelina's manager learnt about the existence of the video and got KZbin to remove it since it wasn't posted by approval of either BabyFuzz or him. It was removed, but a fan had copied it and used it to make this video. BabyFuzz claims he had never heard of Angelina as a candidate for his song. He found no suitable vocalist and decided to sing it himself. It was then released late 2018. Some sources say Angelina (actually her mother) demanded to have the last paragraph rewritten and BabyFuzz declined. Thus her withdrawal from the project. However, that's not what BabyFuzz has said himself as mentioned above. This song has never been posted on any of Angelina's channels. So it's not an official cover. It was a demo for an original that never materialized using Angelina as the vocalist.

This demo was made before Baby finally did the song. So actually Angelina is the first know recording of the song. This is a leaked song and it was never suppose to be released. There is a reference to suicide never the end of the song and and because of that it's said Angelina will never sing this song again. Knowing how she feels about this recording makes it sort a guilty pleasure of mine to continue listening to it. This video is taken down from time to time and all the comments ever made on it have been erased to history. So you can't always find it.

Another good choice for a beautiful GreyWolf reaction. This is definitely one of the songs that Angelina sings incredibly better than others and everyone would like it to be one of her covers. It was born almost from a misunderstanding when Baby Fuzz (Brandon Lowry) sent it to several singers hoping that someone would record it. Angelina recorded this demo at the age of 10 (only!), But she and her mother dislike words that refer to suicide and it was not recognized by Angelina and her family. Angelina said that with these lyrics she will never sing the song again. However, it is a wonderful interpretation. Angelina's version came out long before the recording made directly by Baby Fuzz.

This is an original song she recorded but didn't release because, as far as I know, the author didn't want to change the words that, at the end, recall to suicide. Probably some other of the great fans like Rusty or Claudio may be more accurate about it. I consider this one of the best Angelina performances. Her low register here reaches tones i have never heard. And this is a leaked video, not official. Angelina will not be singing this song anymore. What a waste.... It could be a world hit. I've always been a little conflicted about this song of hers. I think it sounds great and Angelina performed it beautifully. However, knowing that she doesn't like the implied suicide message in the song and she never wants to perform it and actually seems to have tried to withhold its release, I don't generally watch reactors do this song (you are an exception since I love your reactions). The story I have pieced together from other posts is that she did the demo but then gave the writer her requests to change some of the wording so it didn't have the suicidal message. When he refused to allow her to change the lyrics, her mom pulled the demo so that it wouldn't be released. However, someone got a copy and released it to youtube as a "leaked" video. She refuses to perform the song again with the original lyrics. I don't ever share or recommend the video to anyone out of respect for Angelina.

Some people were appalled that she sang a song which, near the end, mentioned the possibility of suicide by the main character of the song. Most comments had been turned off because listeners complained of this. Not one of my favorites either but like you say she did a great job. The complaints about drowning in the water lyrics were silly. Angelina is on a profound journey to musical greatness. She is an amazing and unique soul and will make her mark in the world. When she was just tiny you could say the name of an old jazz song to her or blues and she would be sitting there then a look would come over her face like storm clouds gathering and she would start to sing, if it was a song she’d heard, and she would go from being not only the four or five year old she was but someone who appeared to be ancient or eternal as she sang. And as you said once her attention span seemed to go on and on without any of the impatience of a small child. When she finished singing she would almost instantly become a child again. It was a bit spooky till you got used to it but so right and riveting to see and experience. By the way, your commentary/reaction to her music is the finest on the internet. Barr none.

This song was written by Brandon Lowry who goes by the alias Baby FuzZ in collaboration with Aksel Carlson Frida Amundsen and Ronny Janssen. Lowry has previously written and produced songs for artists like Madonna, Adam Lambert, Lana Del Rey under his stage name Sterling Fox. The song was shopped around to many singers for publishing. Angelina Jordan recorded a demo but decided against publishing it without any reason given. It is assumed that she had reservations about the lyrics that might encourage mentally or emotionally disturbed individuals taking their own lives. Baby FuzZ recorded and released the song himself when no other artist showed interest in it. He much later found out about Angelina’s demo when someone involved in the recording of the demo leaked it. He liked Angelina’s version very much and did not block it though he has the copyrights of the song. He unfairly received lots of criticism on line for the mistaken belief that he prevented Angelina from changing the lyrics. To set the record straight, there was no discussion about that at all between Baby FuzZ and Angelina or her team. He did indicate that clearly and threatened to block the song if the criticism and abuse continue. I want to thank Baby FuzZ and so should all Angelina’s fans for not blocking the leaked demo. If you read carefully what Brandon Lowry writing, he never denied it was a discussion about lyrics. What he writing, is he never was contacted about the demo, or releasing it. That is a different thing. There was a discussion, and therefor the demo was never presented to him. It was no big deal, a mutual understanding. I would really want this matter to rest. All the involved want that too. It is not necessary to bring up this every time someone react to this song. We dont have all the fact. This is one of my absolute favourites from Angelina. For me it is right up there with her very best performances. But, maybe it’s easier for me because I’m not out of my element. I don’t need to have heard anyone else singing it. It is crippling all by itself.

I'm still holding out for you song written by Brandon Lowry( also goes by Baby Fuzz), Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen they went to 10-year-old Angelina with it and Angelina made this audio cut (pictures were added later by a fan "great job") but Angelina's family didn't like the ending lyrics referencing suicide and asked for a lyric change from the authors and they refused so Angelina refused her cut. (The song was released by Baby Fuzz later)Then the video was leaked, (pirated) from Angelina later on, also Angelina has stated she would never sing the song again. Brandon Lowry (it is sead has no problem) with the U-tube video being used. It's a terrible shame as it could have been a mega-hit. My favorite AJ song what a shame about the drama.

Another fact: The three co-writers that Baby Fuzz mentions are also listed on Spotify as co-writers of Angelina’s own composition Shield. Baby Fuzz seems to claim that he did not know about Angelina’s demo until he heard the leaked clip, which frankly is a bit hard to believe. It’s all very confusing.

Sorry, but I have to say… with all due respect to BabyFuzZ (Brandon Lowry), his statement that he "will have no choice but to remove her versions" if he keeps receiving "hateful messages" is complete BS. Of course he has a choice: he can choose to ignore the "hateful messages" (and block the users, or whatever - and if they're threatening, report them). Problem solved. Certainly the problem would only get 100 times worse if he did move to have the video taken down (cf. the Streisand Effect). I have nothing against the guy (except that one statement), and he's surely within his rights to do that if he wanted to (presumably, as the songwriter), but to use "hateful messages" as his potential justification for doing so comes off as, well, frankly childish.

@@DonaldLancon If you haven't yet seen the comment section in Baby FuzZ's version (my link above), perhaps you should. I don't blame BF when I read the comments he is REPLYING to with his quote. When people accuse BF, the ORIGINAL composer, of STEALING this song from, taking advantage of, and EXPLOITING the talents of, a 14 year old Angelina, seems like a natural response to me. Don't know why you would think this BS. On record, it's his COPYRIGHTED song, no presumably about it. We don't have to like it but this is within his rights to block it. Also, this action, if executed, is not against Angelina, it would be against the you tubers that uploaded them.

All the things that you considered negatively are the result of this being a demo not an official version which would have benefited from editing by Angelina herself, and a fully produced instrumental. For a demo this is phenomenal it’s a wonder that Baby Fuzz couldn’t find an artist interested in acquiring the rights for this song and producing an official version. It would be interesting to hear that story!

Angelina sang it first, even before the original artist. Baby Fuzz, the original artist, later sang it. so in a way he did a cover to his own song. LOL. Angelina set the bar so high with her rendition that I consider this song is hers and her only. To me so far this is Angelina's best of the best. This song is not on her channels because it is not supposed to exist. She officially vows not to sing it again.

I really like her voice and material but coming from a girl that is so young it worries me about her future. She is going to grow up way too soon and it’s going to eat her up just like it did Amy Winehouse. I hope her parents have a good hold on her and who she associates with in the music industry. If she can keep her head and heart going in a positive direction and stay way from booze, drugs and sex she can have a stellar career and come out on top of it all. Wonderful talent in that young body and mind. Just as a added note 2 months later, I think if we could see down the road 20 years this will be the music that Angelina centers her career on. She will end up on blues and jazz.

I enjoy the performance, but you are entitled to like, or dislike any song, as you wish, of course. It's your channel, man. For the most part, we all believe Angelina is destined for future greatness. Maybe in just a couple years, but her parents have a huge say in that, and rightly so.

Just to make a correction of misinformation: This is an Original! Experts agree, that “I’m Still Holding Out For You” is an Angelina Original! An original, is any song which was not recorded by any artist before, it may be composed by the person singing it, or by someone else. Baby FuzZ and a three others wrote this song. Thus, he did the “Cover” that Angelina had already recorded in 2016, at 10…Demo or not! Sorry, his recording, in 2018, (two years later) was met with very little fanfare. He has since, given her his blessing to make a proper recording of the song. Thanks 🌺
