Even now, I'm still amazed at how she can project these feelings through her vocals, combined with perfect pitch and the all important timing! She has a rare vocal genius. There are child prodigies in many fields, art, piano, mathematics, physics, but I've never seen one with this kind of vocal talent. Some young kids can belt out songs, but what she does goes much deeper than that, as you so eloquently put it. Don't apologize for running out of words to describe her, it is the only way to properly give tribute.

It's hard to find words. She is truly ethereal, celestial and any other word that might be remotely related. It feels like she has been blessed by the highest power with an old beautiful well worn soul that finds its way into every crevice of our being. Thank you for another heartfelt reaction to Angelina. I agree with your comments regarding it not being possible to "teach" a child the skills that Angelina has. Like many of her fans, my introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. This little girl wore a white dress, which suited her, but was not wearing shoes. So, I did see what I expected to see. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She didn't look at all nervous and confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. She declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday, and that set me back on my heels!. She then gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. She sounded like Billie Holiday, for goodness sake. Her phrasing was the same as Billie's. She didn't rush the song. Neither did she fumble for the words or stop to wonder whether she was in tune. There was absolutely no sign of nerves. In fact, she could have been alone on the stage and yet in some way she was not only in control of her own performance, she commanded the attention of all in the hall. This old man (I was just short of 75 at the time) has never been so impressed with a singer of any age. To me she is the very best. It must be remembered, however, that she is the hardest taskmaster on herself. Although she has an inborn gift of being able to instinctively understand a song and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. I believe that this girl has a gift and a very very rare talent. a talent that comes by on this planet earth every 100/200 or so. I don't think there's a 8yr old that can do what Angelina Jordan could do. I'm 70yrs. Hi GW that was a great reaction. I have a word I gave to describe Angie when she does a cover. Angie doesn't do covers, she takes songs & Angelinalizes them & they become hers & then when you listen to that song now you think of her & not others. All pro singers & vocal coaches say the same thing about Angie, she's just on a different level. So when trolls talk it's usually cause their a fan of someone else (which is disrespectful to their artist as well , cause art is subjective) , but skills & talent aren't. Angie is a prodigy you could saya prodigy of prodigies. I know one vocal coach that won't react to Angie cause to good for her age or any age & with her having perfect pitch, tremolo skills etc there's no use. There's other fish you admire & fry but Angie is just at a different level that most singers would die to be at & they're adults. Angie was doing this things when she was 6 also while learning her 3rd language of English & learning her 4 instruments & keeping awesome grades in school (especially math) & getting to be a kid. She's an awesome painter 7 makes a lot of het cool clothes that you see her wear sometimes. I can go on on on......you can see the God given gift that The Lord gave her & only a fool wouldn't. I'd like to see a 6 yr old or 1/2 year old have her abilities from hard work & still do all the things she does. Denying the obvious is what a fool does.

Just remind the general audience that she was doing this at eight. When did she train ten years, to do it. She's getting better, sure, but she started out better than I'll ever be, and probably most of everybody as well. It's like watching something miraculous, because she just started doing this at three years old, and it grew from there. Also, could you remember a song that well, and every improvisation, when you were nine? You can't teach vibrato, and you'll never teach that kind of soul. She trains at school, but so did I, and I trained for decades, never to get even into that realm.

I know this video is approaching 1 year old, but I have to elaborate on your comment about that she knows not to rush the song. Not only does this girl know not to rush the song, she shows that she uses the negative space for two separate things: 1- she gives the listener time to fully "get" the impact of the line she just finished and 2- there's a tension in her listener is so they crave the next line. Not only does she appreciate the negative space, she is a maestro of both tempo and negative space. Given she's only 8yo here this is musical genius!!!

You are absolutely right.. talent is something you are born with... any can learn something but they will never reach the natural born talents at their skill-level. Angelina is unique even as a natural born talent.. she can feel the composer how songs were ment to sound like and even channel it like a medium. Another of her strenghts is her ability to know when not to sing. Her pauses in the tunes is so perfectly timed you have to wonder why didnt any of the artist use pauses like that in their performances. And at last; She knows; less is more.. Good reaction again.. The creative oasis that many creative people find themselves in when artists create. It feels like this is a universal vein , or God , that the creator of heart with pleasure is in. What A Difference A Day Makes is one of my "reserved" favorite songs of all time. The music, the words, the background singers, and Dinah's attitude ! I could go on and on. Thank you for reacting to this song that I've been requesting for the longest to other reactors and none of them have reacted to it and I'm definitely glad you did, this is easily my favorite song from Angelina and right after it "I put a spell on you" why? because "What a difference a day makes" is the song that made me fall in love with Angelina and her beautiful Charisma, let alone her voice I don't even need to mention it, so, that video made me weep but I wouldn't accept it and the next thing I knew I had played the song around 5 to 6 times, that's when you don't know that she had you from the first time without you even knowing about it until you come to and realize is pointless to resist.

I'm now in my 70's and I began performing in 1967. You cannot teach this kind of emotion and timing to a child. You cannot teach a child to close her eyes or waive her hand at the precise emotional moment of a song. I am not religious, but I cannot deny the reality of a soul who once again graces the world with her presence. What you see and hear is innate. It is part of her very soul. She has been on countless stages and before countless people in many prior lives. It's the only logical answer.

I think I'd argue that "no training can teach this" because Angelina's DECIDED to be studious and listen carefully. SHE has decided that listening and studying is worthy. I think she must be an exceptional student, therefore. She still has years of learning about her own vocal and hearing abilities - and those will change with time and age - and I believe she studies those tools of hers, and then matches whatever music she's studying, too. That's such an important talent of her - studying.

As I have stated in other comments. I to tried to analyze how. Just how does an eighteen month child sing one line in tune with a with a Whitney Houston song. I have grandchildren and at eighteen months I have yet to hear one truly understandable word. After listening to every song and interview I am now at the point of accepting Angelina’s answer. Singing to me is like breathing, I go to a magical world that is beautiful when I sing. We see the results but have no explanation. Yes she has had voice, singing, piano, violin, etc. since the age of four or five. She speaks three languages. Reads music, understands music theory. Annunciates the English language like an English professor. Just not possible but yet she does it like no other from the age of seven and even better than I at the age of six. I’m an educated philosopher a sentimal. agnostic and I have not a clue.

This is one of the most phenomenal performances ever, and it’s was done by an 8 year old. The texture and nuances of her voice cannot be learned. She is a prodigy the likes of Mozart at about the same age and trajectory of artistry. People try their whole lives to be an artist of this quality without success!
