Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius (here 9 and now 17) is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 70 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.

Angelina has never had a long-term vocal coach - the only vocal coaching she has had is tips on how to keep her voice healthy - Angelina first sang a song snippet at age 1 1/2 and started to teach herself how to sing at age 2 by scrolling through KZbin on her Mother's iPad and listening to Jazz greats such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Dinah Washington, Etta James, and a lot more. Her grandmother also played jazz records around the house so Angelina has been listening to music since she was born - and possibly felt the vibrations while still in the womb - just a thought.

@@petercarter3981 That consisted (as I mentioned) of tips on keeping their voice healthy but not developing her singing style - when you watch rehearsal videos of Angelina in her younger years you don't see anyone coaching her. Angelina primarily studied piano, guitar, and music theory, which included breaking songs down and learning how to arrange them. It has been reported that around age 10 or 11, the school in Norway said there was nothing else they could teach her in terms of vocal training - that was around the time she decided that she needed to move to the US to further her career. How that was pulled off is a very interesting story itself.

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. This child decided to practice her voice when she was 3 YEARS OLD and did it since then almost every day. You know when you work out (carefully) since your childhood you get realy good muscles. At 9 years old, she already was a veteran in music and could have been a vocal teacher herself. For technical advise, like working in a sound booth, breathingtechniks etc. she went to the academy for music and performing arts in Oslo/Norway. Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when they are ready. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from Republic Record.. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She has recently performed at the Nobel Prize 2023, and also performed at the FIFA AWARD, also performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on KZbin with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar. The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a artist who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do! Angelina recently had a sold-out concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where there was an audience from many different country all the way from Australia and from 39 different states in the USA.

Do you know what’s so funny about this she is nine years old. She wrote the arrangement the band didn’t expect a little girl to show up and after working with her they called her the boss screaming jay Hawkins is the original writer from the 50s. There’s a prayer candle at the beginning with a picture of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. The conductor is looking over some of her last minute changes to the song. ❤ loved your reaction! Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them. Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat.
