A 6-year-old child producing a sound of this type, with pitch, full voice, resonance and a lot of motivation, runs away from normal completely and the brain cannot understand all the facts. This recording of the grandmother's cell phone records an important moment in the career of a genius spirit, when he finds his way, typical ritual of passage! I really like your work and knowledge. Had seen her 'Gloomy Sunday' audition for NGT a few days prior to this & was mildly impressed but not quite sure why the judges were so enthusiastic . Then this 'I Who Have Nothing' showed up in the sidebar & clicked on it out of curiosity. My brain could not comprehend the sound coming from this 'child' . It made me cry . . . she stole my heart & has yet to give it back . I went back and reviewed 'Gloomy Sunday' again (and again) with comprehension taking hold that this person is beyond explanation . She will most likely retain possession of my heart . . . indefinitly .

OK, so she's six, and I've listened to this quite a few times, and it's not perfect (as you would expect at her age and when singing in a second language), but I STILL enjoy it very, very much, and some of the notes she sings STILL give me chills (they're subsiding right now). No other singer (of any age) does this for me right now.

When people say that what we hear from Angelina is the result of hard training and vocal coaching does not hold water after witnessing that extraordinary event: and she is 6 years old here! Yes, of course, in the natural, she is a child, excited to find herself in her true element, in a studio recording, and in the dire need to impress grandma. Happy at herself to perform the way she want to. But, it is nothing than natural: it is supernatural, actually, a spiritual experience that only a gifted child can accomplish. I always think of Mozart when I watch that video.

I just wanted you to know how much an 80 year old likes you, your deep understanding of the music of the last few years plus and some of the problems you have overcome to be one of the most knowledgeable reviewers around. I really appreciate all you have done and continue to do promote Angelina, who I followed throughout Norway’s Got Talent and then lost track of for so many years until I rediscovered her again a couple of years ago. She is six years old here! I am personally thrilled that her grandmother (who is almost always the one with video camera in hand) supported Angelina having fun and let her be a kid in the studio. This little girl had been working on finding and developing her voice since she was 2, when she started listening to jazz all day and finding her way to sound like Ella and Frank and all the jazz greats, which is how she developed her insanely exquisite mixture of a voice. Her grandma supported her fully in the passion she had for this music, and I imagine spent as many hours as Angelina wanted day after day after day. I'm guessing that every singer little Angelina liked became the focus for as long as she was interested. So i would trust that this video is the best way to show how fun and yet fully devoted they both were in working songs over and over until Angelina was satisfied. If you weren't watching this little nugget of a girl singing in that studio you would hear the voice that didn't quite get there here and there in a different way. Surprisingly enough there are not many of those moments but clearly we can adore when she pushes her voice too hard because we can see how tiny she is. I think it should make very clear that she wasn't simply "born with it" but that she's literally been working all her life developing her voice and her ear. I say a huge hurrah! for grandma and huge gratitude to her for her devotion.

The little conversation between the tech and Angelina at the very end was when he told Angelina she messed up a couple of words in the middle of the song. The thing that really amazes about this is that she's a 6 year old Norwegian girl and she's reading and singing fluently in English. I just want to mention that the first English version was that of Ben E King and it was released in June 1963 before Shirley Bassey version that was released in September of the same year. The song is based on the Italian song Uno Dei Tanti that was first recorded by Joe Sentierie. Ben E King version is my favourite rendition of this song, maybe because he used the same music track as Joe Sentierie’s Italian version which I listened to it a lot when I was young .
