Go back and find the video of her working on Feeling Good at a piano in a beauty shop while mom is getting her hair done. You can see her working out her version. Long before performing it. Astonishing.
@DonaldLancon3 жыл бұрын
It's on her Fanclub Mosarz channel. The video title is "Angelina Jordan rehearsal for TV (Feeling Good) 2014" [v=nQbyK_frFiw]. Unfortunately, through most of it you can barely hear her. The following year (December 2015) she tried practicing it with a drummer, and it was a hot mess. [LOL] But she sounds great, and it's her earliest performance of the song (that I know of) that includes the final stair-step run up to the high note. Video title: "Angelina Jordan finding the way to sing Feeling Good in her own way" [v=QdN2dNS1NzQ]. And I can't resist putting in a plug for my favorite "piano practice" video of hers (for all its "rawness"): "Angelina Jordan rehearsal singing and playing Writing On The Wall By Sam Smith December/2015" [v=IyGJyVEkQ3Q], apparently recorded the same day as the previous video.
@christinestromberg40573 жыл бұрын
It's a beautiful song but so much more haunting by Angelina. Apparently she was just playing around with the song at her keyboard, maybe shown somewhere and some fans created videos of it. This is the most beautiful, in my view.
@jacquespicotte88863 жыл бұрын
Yes, "absolutely beautiful", you sad it, MrLboyd! That rendition is a perfect example of what I call "singing in the spirit". It takes so much soulful depth, in mind and emotions, and complete focus to be able, like Angelina is doing here, to slide into the spirit and to remain in it, while keeping mindful control of her music abilities as well as her breath management and playing the piano. I do not know of any singer who possesses that kind of spiritual stamina. I dream of the day when, at a concert, she will sing many songs at her piano.

Angelina is a wondrous story teller..she teaches me with almost every cover I have heard, to really listen and then on an almost cellular level, I get what she must have felt when listening..that real intended emotion behind the song. She has connected so significantly with such a diverse humanity..she has no judgements no opinion on the covers, she just shares with us how she hears it and does so with respect and love to the original. Angelina has given me a huge respect and understanding of Adele. I feel Adele's words when Angelina sings them..both of them incredibly gifted storytellers.. I love your reactions..thankyou

Your right about the song.. it’s a well written classic iconic and emotional song.. The secret/ sacred Art of Grate Singers/ vocalist is the ability to Capture/ convey the emotions of the songs .. You see, greatly written songs always have a Message it wonts to convey or a story to tell.. Here is a extremely talented young lady giving the world a Masterclass at telling the story and Soul capturing the emotion of the song.. Her artistry/ subtle replacement of the words added something to the storytelling of the song..I feel ppl slept on this ability when Reacting/ breaking down Angelina’s rendition of this song.

I love Angelina and gave for years. I love Chris Isaak and saw him at the Bottom Line early on in his career. I don’t want to play the “who is better” game. But I believe you owe it to Chris Isaak to listen to the original since he is the writer. His video with that gorgeous girl made it very popular though it looked like a Calvin Klein- or other great designer-ad. Isaak is a very evocative artist and is worth a listen to, especially his early work. And keep going on with Angelina. If you haven’t done her cover of Elton John’s Yellow Brick Road, please please do. She is 15 now. What will she sound like at 18? 21? Such a sweet soul. And artistic family. Glad we will get to journey along with her.

Angelina’s practice session/performance cover of Love on the Brain by Rihanna is special and she accompanies herself on the piano…and she plays the piano well! Angelina often extracts the emotional content of a song, slows the pace, and then recreates the song…this song is an example. Thanks for your reaction!

This song has been covered by so many over the years. But in my opinion, no one has given it more justice, than Angelina. Some have tried a more popish style, some added acrobatics to it (Diana). But this song is obviously about obsessive love, and Angelina, with her incredible understanding of music, picked up on that straight away. Just fantastic. One of her absolute best.
@alberttenfoot3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you, Sarlina. But I do have a problem. "Wicked Game" is/was my favourite ever since I heard it, but now I have two songs fighting to be number one. The other one is quite a newcomer and is rather ambitious to defeat the reigning champion. "All I ask" is the contender. Would you like to take on the role of arbitrator and, after negotiation between the two, let me know who should be No. 1.?
@sarlina13 жыл бұрын
@@alberttenfoot I would love to give you my opinion, Albert, but dont let me cloud your judgement 😊 Between the two, I still rate Wicked Game as the better. All I Ask is flawless of course, and Angelina is doing it all kinds of justice, simply wonderful. But Adeles song has never been a favorite song for me. So I guess I am colored by that. But I will add, that there are more songs by Angelina I rate equally to Wicked Game. For me, I have a few favorites, like California Dreamin, First Time I Ever Saw Your Face and Its A Mans World, which I am not able to rate under Wicked Game. There are even more, and I would like to just say I have them all in my top 10. I find it so hard to separate them, because it depends on my mood, and what I am looking for in the moment. Vocally, Its A Mans World (with the military band outdoors) is still her best. Emotionally, First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, just because Jørgen dedicated that to me days before he passed. And California Dreamin, because it was his favorite, and it became mine too. And Wicked Game is all the way up there, for her amazing interpretation of the song. Stay safe, Albert, keep hanging in there. I would very much like to meet you, and my other closest friends among us Angels, one sweet day 💕💕
@Cloudyvi3 жыл бұрын
Indeed, Diana's rendition was bewitching, but I agree with you it was more about gymnastics and theatricality... AJ is the only performer who can bring out the depth of his obsession. What really amazes me is her ability to convey these complex emotions without having experienced them.
@sarlina13 жыл бұрын
@@Cloudyvi Yes. That has been her strength all the time. When we all thought singers need to experience what they convey, to make it believable enough, she has proven us wrong time after time. That is what makes her so unique, her incredible understanding of music.
@billweekley40773 жыл бұрын
@@alberttenfoot Not only is her rendition an artistic masterpiece, but understanding that she just set down for something to do and produces what we hear and see is beyond the beyond. This realization makes this legendary. I believe her words were something like. I thought I would play around with it. On another note I have noticed Angelina reactors are growing exponentially. We may be reaching critical mass and an explosion may be imminent.
