It has arrived! The Official Studio Performance of Angelina Jordan singing 7th Heaven. I did an Angelina Jordan reaction to her first release of the audio version of 7th Heaven and now we all get to see her perform this groundbreaking song. And I get to record a reaction video. Republic Records have given Angelina Jordan the perfect setting for this studio performance. The room seems smokey and the lighting is a nice contrasting cold blue and warm yellow. Angelina Jordan has a band of sorts this time, backing her up. And also an important backup singer for those amazing overlays. She is wearing white gloves and is clapping and moving to the music, like I've never seen her do before. It's that kind of a song! This studio set up is just wonderful for this Great song. The mood, lighting, minimal instruments, back up singers, Lady drummer keeping the beat, what more could we ask for. Everything from that performance is perfect! Angelina's voice first and foremost, of course; the setting, the lighting, Angelina's outfit, the musicians, all wonderful. I had already said elsewhere the overlapping could easily be resolved with backup singers 😉 Here we have two of them, the drummer who's a woman and the stand up backup singer. They did a great job! Of course there's nothing like Angelina backing herself up 😂

Angelina and Republic Records do look that they are getting a roll on here. The production of this live performance and also 'All I Ask' is beautifully done. I like that they are all filmed in the same studio. That gives me a feeling of seeing Angelina at an intimate exclusive club.

My mother said this reminded her of a form of jazz from the 30's and 40's called 'Swing'. Then, I found a performance on Britain's Got Talent in 2018 that had a very similar beat and vibe to it. It was a personal arrangement of a famous song called Seven Nation Army. The singer was named Aleksander Mileusnic. When Simon commented on it he referred to it as a 'Swing' version.

Angelina is ready to take Taylor Swift's place as top dog in the industry. But Taylor is her senior with Republic Records, so she might put up quite a fuss! This song , with her brilliant vocals should seal the deal for her that she is top tier, and ready to blast off, and amaze the music world This song, and also "All I Ask" I could listen to over and over for hours on end. Now we can see how much improvement she has made with her stage appeal over songs like "It's A Mans World" where she did not move around much, yet sang her heart out. Now she is ROCKING!

Angelina is completely mesmerizing us with her latest music releases. Each one seems to outdo the other. Million Miles, 7th Heaven and All I Ask cover are spectacular performances and very different in style and mood. It is so difficult for me to say which is my favorite. Well, I thought the original was over dubbed with Angelina's voice, but maybe not. Anyway, in this one there are two background singers. The female drummer is also singing backup. I really love this performance. She is accompanied by two backup singers and four instruments, five if you consider her finger snapping and clapping, and she just brings the whole thing alive with her energetic performance. Totally LOVE this! And of yeah, did I mention that she is Stunningly Beautiful!! WOW! What a package! Great reaction PO! 💕

Yes - I think it's actually an improvement from the audio version, certainly the ending feels like there is a reason to have hope! The video production is clearly very professional, and the two backing singers (including the drummer) add a nice touch. I can imagine being in the audience of a live performance in a jazz club, I hope that she would give an encore at the end...

I love everything about this video, especially the new ending. It was too abrupt before, IMO. Reactors would be bopping their head to the beat with eyes closed & it would suddenly end. They would still be bopping when they open their eyes & say "Is it over?" This version resolves it.

Thanks for sharing your reaction. _"she's such a talent"_ I couldn't agree more. I think especially in this one she demonstrated that she doesn't need any effects or postcorrections, I believe the audio was done in 1-2 takes only. You can hear that the audio is by no means perfect, it's as if you're listening to a live performance, so I guess they deliberately left her voice as natural as possible. Only singers who can really sing can perform their songs in such a "live fashion". This is why Angelina always sounded good live on TV, because all she needed was one take and it was good enough, and if a mistake happened, it happened, but the more that would prove that it was live. I like how her first works with RR turned out, it's an auspicious beginning. "Don't give up" is the motto of this song, I hope she doesn't give up too and that she grows stronger and more confident as time passes.

She is just remarkable, And yes, I think this ending is maybe a weeeeee bit better than the audio version. Having the 3 hopes at the end seems to me to sort of signal an ending a bit better than the one "hoooope" which just sort of leaves you hanging. Generally speaking, I like when the unexpected happens in a song or piece - maybe even at the end - but I still think I prefer the 3 in this case, especially given how short the song is. Anyway - another great review - thanks.

Genius always finds a way to make itself known. This young lady has had a focus of what she wanted to be and do since she was so young it evokes thoughts of Mozart who was composing at 3 yrs.old. Angelina has a way with word play like the first hope sung with that wonderful upsweep in her voice. Then at the end with the repetition of hope again in another way to affirm that life without hope is a pretty dismal. This song has Angelina's positive outlook literally written all through it. She really is taking over. I marvel that she has so much command in a room full of adults who also have dreams and had dreams of possibly greater things. I imagine Angelina will win them over as she has since the beginning. I'm just thinking out loud because she is just 15 and working around people much older who maybe didn't see their life and career where it is. I just think about things like that because I'm a glass empty or is it really empty kind of guy. Anyway I'm glad for Angelina being able to live her dream.

Great reaction, Pontus. Yes. I agree with all you said. I had the same question you did about the overlap and it looks like they solved it perfectly. There is a short bit in "Million Miles" where she had an overlap and in the live version, they just chopped it off and didn't have the overlap. You want to know the best part? The best part is the way Angelina is smiling, clapping her hands and enjoying herself. I love that!

We were in synch on our reactions to this. Do you have any thoughts about why, on both this song and Million Miles, she chooses to overlay the long run with other singing? I really want to hear them on their own, so gorgeous! Also, did you notice that this time she sings “look for a miracle” rather than “look for miracle” which is nonstandard grammar and is that way in the lyrics video? I’d love to hear an in-depth analysis of her songwriting process on a song like this. Maybe Alan Papier can interview the Stargate team next!

Shows a sign of looking at the detail. :-) - "look for miracles" would have made grammatical sense but as you point out the lyrics or the official audio dont make that word sound in the plural. As for overlying the long run - fair question but for me it makes me strain into the music at that point even more, wanting to pick it out and so maybe it is deliberate because I immediately want to hear it again as it is slightly obscured in parts of that run by the overlaid other singing. Not that I mind of course. Just a thought (Like a very clever method / mechanism.. ) :-)

In the ones I have seen, she's close to monosyllabic, so maybe interviews are not her strength, at this stage in her life's journey? I'm breathless for a concert video of this one, (though I can't even imagine what she could do better, she always surprises me with another level). She seems to love being in front of an audience, draws energy from it. Eg AGT, the summer concerts. She can invent a new standard release sequence, 4 steps, audio, lyric video, studio video, concert video. Virus defeated first of course.

Okay, before criticizing someone you are supposed to compliment them first to 'open the door' for the positive criticism . . . . . . SO , I LIKE your channel & how you review the performer (s) ( Angelina ) . BUT , you could make the performer's window larger as they are the focus of your review. Yes ! 😂 I appreciate how well you wrapped your constructive criticism. Flattery always work 😉 With that being said, I beg to differ. In a Reaction Video I feel the focus is on the reaction. You must be able to see (and feel) what the Reactor is feeling. That’s how I want it when I look at other reactor channels and I look at a lot of them 🤗

OK , disregarding my complimentary opening before , YOUR WRONG ! ! ! (just kidding with you) I tune in to 'Reactor' channels 'cause I am already familiar with the performance in question and want to get other opinions . . . . but my memory is very short . . . . . . OK. So reviewing the performer , as you say , "You must be able to see (and feel) what the Reactor is feeling." In order to Feel what the Reactor is feeling I (me) need to refresh my memory vividly of the original performance. Then I can relate better to the 'reaction'. Just me, I guess. A "for instance" would be Boogie Tyme immersing himself in the video he is reviewing ! You (the innocent, unsuspecting viewer) can therefore see and feel what the reactor is seeing AND feeling simultaneously ! ! IT"S Wonderful ! ! Blue and jazz are too often associated with misfortune and misery, and that’s not something a little girl can sing. I think she knows it too. Take Amy Winehouse, you can sing her songs with perfect techniques, but it’s just not ideal. Now this! About hope and positivity, is more fitting to her. She’s finding her own path and that’s amazing.

I found the gloves to be superfluous, what's the point? There's even a moment where A.J. is snapping her fingers, with gloves on? I am also not too crazy bout this song, it's rather mainstream. I think the overlapping of her voices is the significant development here which i hope A.J. explores at length in the future. A double-whammy!

It sounds wonderful 😂 Kidding aside, I’m not sure I can fairly judge if this is mainstream or not. Actually I’m rather hoping it’s mainstream enough so it gets a lot of radio airtime and high positions in the various charts. More people needs to discover her 🤗

I don't conside this song as mainstream, but rather edging towards mainstream. If she is going to make a career in music she will have to appeal to a wider audience and, like it or not that means mainstream music. . I expect her future music will have some jazz, some jazz and pop fusion and some pop music. If she is only popular on you-tube she will never make it. You can't support studio time and session musicians on u-tube income. ( About $1,200 per million views according to Rick Beato). We will have to come to the realization that she will write a variety of music, not all of which we may love, and that's alight. God loves wonderous diversity.
