If you would like to see one of her youngest check out "I who have nothing" age 6. She was in a recording studio for the first time and recorded 4 songs. Turn on the sub titles for the ending comments from the engineer, and remember she is reading and singing in a second language not her first. Great reaction video.

Angelina´s mind is at least 20 years older than her body, People, who worked with highly gifted kids confirm that she has a very high IQ. If you ever see her interview with Ann Lindmo at age 9 you will fully understand what we mean with that. She also studied jazz since age 2, started practicing music at age 3 and went to study at the academies for music and performing arts in Oslo and LA, starting at age 4. German greetings.

She does three more songs: I'm A Fool To Want You (a cappella), Bang Bang, and Summertime. She won the competition of course. You have a new subscriber here! By the way, the part that was missing in translation was "You are born to sing". Those judges were spot on all the way.

Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZbin before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " 💯 *AJ* 💯 BTW, Angelina's mother Sara said in an interview when Angelina was about 11/12 years old, *only Angelina chooses the songs and she only sings them the way she imagines* . 🤗🤗🤗

Thanks for your great reaction to & appreciation of Angelina's masterful performance of this Billie Holiday classic. I strongly believe that Angelina has the GOD given gifts of not only a beautiful voice, but also the innate ability to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & minds to allow us to also strongly FEEL her music as it flows through her. I'd love to see you continue with her other 3 NGT performances (I'm A Fool To Want You, Bang Bang & Summertime). Also - in order to really appreciate her raw talent, you need to watch her black & white performance of I Put A Spell On You (which she also arranged) - at age 9. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

I'm glad you pointed out her mic technique, because we have YT videos of her singing into a mic at 18 months with decent technique. I can imagine her playing with a mic as a child to discover all the things she can do with it to get different sounds. In her epic audition 6 years later on AGT-Champions 2 when she sang her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody, I always laugh when the tech guy gives her the mic & tells her to sing into it.

Very nice reaction to a bit of history from Angelina! Her next Norway's Got Talent song is also Billie Holiday "I'm A Fool To Want You" which Angelina performs a cappella! Don't miss it! [It is of course very explainable due to the fact that by then she had just turned a very experienced 8yo!]. Her "I Put a Spell On You" (9yo) will rock your world or you can jump to today and hear her with Elvis' "Suspicious Minds"! You have many choices..150+ or so across about 100 years of music history. No song is too iconic for Angelina, and no artist is too big. She is fearless. Enjoy the journey!

Smart and sweet reaction, thank you. What one of the judges said, "you are the music" is absolutely true, Angelina uses her music and her songs as her first language regardless of how many other languages she speak. Her musical understanding and her ability to express emotions and concepts with the songs is absolutely transcendental also at only 7 years. Angelina has the ability to extrapolate with her musical sensibility the soul of a song and give it to us with the naturalness and simplicity that distinguish she, this fantastic girl breathes music and in every interpretation of her and takes us to another world. Please keep listening to her, it's a gift you give to us and to yourself, she is even always more unreal in her evolution. 💛🧡❤

The reason Angelina sings barefoot: When she was 6, she was traveling in the Middle East with her grandmother and met a girl who had no shoes. Angelina gave the girl the shoes off of her own feet and (edit) performs barefoot as a reminder that some children have no shoes(edit closed). Incidentally, Angelina wrote a book about this experience and became the youngest published author in Norwegian history. She also paints and does graphic design: the outfit she wore when singing Bohemian Rhapsody is her own design. If you want to get a feeling for the meteoric rate at which Angelina has developed as an artist, you should listen to her recent cover of Suspicious Minds. It'll give your chills chills. Great reaction/review! Angelina is certainly gifted. You need to watch the black & white video of Angelina at 9 years old performing the song I Put A Spell On You. She did it as a tribute to Screaming Jay Hawkins (the originator of the song), whose image is on the candle Angelina holds at the beginning of the video. You can also see Angelina writing notes regarding the musical arrangement. She is an amazing multitalented artist.

Taking a positive take on things and not letting things out of your control ruin your mood is indeed a good way to go! To continu on that positive note, there is a wonderful reason why she performs barefoot. When she was 6 she gave her shoes away to a poor girl in the streets. Since she performed barefoot to raise awareness for poor children. She has also performed for many charities to help raise money for poor kids. Not just inspiring as an artist but also as a person :-) I see a cute slip of a girl coming on stage, wild mane of hair, teeth missing in a princess dress of sorts. But as soon as she starts singing the artist emerges. She is really good at story telling and conveying emotions (your goose bumps) and as soon as she starts singing the audience and jury go very quiet and go slack jawed and she does not release her hold on them until she is done with them. She has indeed no nerves on stage: she said she loves being on stage and the audience give her energy. You said you already have a list of suggestions what to view next, so I won’t pile up on that :-)

Jacqueline, I'm so happy for you that you have seen this video. It was her formal introduction to the world. I see I have already subscribed to you so I must have heard you react to Angelina before. Briefly, when she was 6 years old (before this performance at 7) she was traveling in the Middle East with her family and they came across a little girl (about Angelina's age) and she was sitting on the curb with no shoes on. Her feet were scarred and bloody. Angelina asked if she talk to the little girl. She was granted permission and during the conversation between two six year older's Angelina discovered the girl did not own shoes and also that her parents were dead and she was on the corner with a scale for people to weigh themselves and drop a few coins to her so she could support herself and a couple of siblings. Angelina took her favorite boots off and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and said she had nothing to give Angelina but she would pray for her. (There was a lot more to the conversation.) On the way home Angelina told her grandma she couldn't believe there were children in the world who couldn't even afford a pair of shoes. She told her grandma from that time on, whenever she sings to people she will sing barefoot because she never wants to forget the little girl and people seeing her will understand why she's barefoot and inspire them to do something to help those in need. (Not bad for a 6 year older, eh?) BTW, she had maintained a diary and actually wrote a book about the incident and it was published in Norway when she was 9 years old (becoming the youngest published author in the history of Norway). Jacqueline, I could go on and on but I'll summarize my comments this way: When you combine her incredible voice with her artistic abilities and understand what a humble, kind, caring and loving human being she is, THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANYONE LIKE HER, PAST OR PRESENT. She has been given a gift and she is sharing it with all of us. She has been quoted telling us the happiest she is in her life is when she is singing to people and making them happy and feeling the love in her heart. Never a trace of nervousness when she performs and it backs up what I've told you. She is singing FOR US and that is what motivates her. The loving affect she has on people is very real and we gladly return our love to her. Jacqueline, why do we always tear up, or get goosebumps, or find it difficult to speak during or right after one of her performances? Because we get lost in her world and what a beautiful place it is.

Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction to Angelina. Your response was not surprising! Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records over a year ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. Here is a link from ages 6 to 16 to all her 165 chronological performances, including five originals. m.kzbin.info/aero/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO Why does Angelina sing barefoot? When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love. kzbin.info Please remember to include in your description the Original Video link as well as the artist Official Channel, if you have not already done so. There is a very special reason that Angelina sings barefoot. When she was 6 years old she was traveling in the middle east with her Grandma and came across a young homeless girl about her age, that had no shoes and scars on her feet. She was weighing people on bathroom scales to try to earn money for her and her siblings. Angelina befriended the girl and they talked. Angelina asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up, and the girl replied "I would like to be a doctor, but it isn't possible because I need to get money for my brothers and sisters. The girl asked Angelina what she wanted to do, and Angelina said she wanted to sing for the world. The girl said that she would pray for Angelina every day so her dream would come true. The girl remarked how pretty Angelina's shoes were, and Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl saying they didn't fit her well. She later told in an interview they were her "Sea green boots and she loved those shoes". Angelina wrote a book about this when she was 9 and her grandmother illustrated it, (translated it is "Between Two Hearts") and Angelina became Norway's youngest published author. She made a promise to sing barefoot in public in remembrance of that girl (she called her Princess) and to bring awareness to all the needy children in the world. She has kept that promise and 10 years later still honors it. After winning Norway's Got Talent she was asked what she would do with her prize money, and her reply was "I would like to give it to the orphan children". Here is a link to an interview, be sure to turn on the closed captions unless you speak Norwegian. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo

I believe Angelina sings with complete confidence because show knows she's so much better than nearly every singer she sees. This comes from her natural ability. This girl has incredibly acute hearing. Angelina could echo locate her way through a mine field, blind folded, in pitch black darkness. She was simply born with this ability. There's a video of Angelina at 1 1/2 years old, microphone in hand, trying to belt out a Whitney Houston number. She didn't have the apparatus to effectively do that. but it was evident that she had in mind exactly what she wanted to imitate. Complimenting her extraordinary ability to pick up every nuance of a musical performance is that she has a vocal apparatus, and control over it, that gives her the ability to readily reproduce almost any vocal ornament that she hears. She began watching talent shows as a toddler and quickly recognized that she was better than anyone she saw. There was no bragging about it. It was simply a fact that she recognized. Angelina always had a ravenous appetite for music and a burning desire to be a performer. Backstage, just before the performance shown here, Angelina stated that her goal was to be a super star. Added to this and her vocal abilities is one unique talent that I never heard of anybody having other than Angelina. Angelina states that when she sings she goes into this place in her mind that is beautiful above all imagining. She seems to describe a mindset, and in this mindset she never feels nervous. Consider Angelina's a cappella opening of Bohemian Rhapsody on America's Got Talent that she pulled off virtually flawlessly, landing right on pitch when the accompaniment entered in the arrangement. This occurred on, perhaps, the world's biggest stage with a viewership in the millions. Yet as a 13 year old, she did this without a hint of nervousness. Something that could make a seasoned pro tremble.

WHY BAREFOOT? At 6 while in Iran with her Grandma and mother she met a little orphan girl her age weighing people in the street to make money to help her siblings. After chatting a while Angelina (AJ) asked the girl what she wanted to become and the girl said"A doctor, but that will never happen" then she asked Angelina the same and AJ said"To sing for the world". AJ noticed the girl had no shoes and scarred feet and offered the girl the shoes she was wearing. The girl said she would pray for AJ and since then, even here her first public exposure, she went on stage barefoot and this was after her mother had bought her a new pair of shoes for the occasion. She always performs only barefoot to honor that little girl and bring awareness to the needy children of the world and to keep herself humble. AJ has helped raise millions for children's charities. Thank you Jacqueline for this one and the many more that will amaze you in the future. Cheers from Florida

I would like to see you react to one of her recent performances at 16 years old. She has vastly improved from when she was 13, the oldest performance that you have previously reacted to. There are many to choose from as she recently performed a few concerts providing live performance videos as well as a number of music video/studio performances. Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" and Elvis's "Suspicious Minds" would be my first selections and she has done them both live and in the studio. Each song she does is so unique that you can't take any particular one and say, well this is what she sounds like now. One of the most versatile singers I am familiar with.

The way she sings the line "deep in my heart" and her voice breaks a little is so beautiful and heartbreaking. After she left the stage one of the judges commented that her voice was so raspy that it sounded like she had been drinking whiskey since she was born!! I have a feeling that her and Billie used to hang out together in a previous life. You can almost imagine that this is what Billie Holiday would have sounded like as a child. Mind blown!!

For more insight on why Angelina Jordan is so special watch this interview of her on Norwegian TV when she was 9 years old discussing a book she wrote that explains why she performs barefoot (she is the youngest published author in Norway). At one point in the interview, she reads from her diary - although she is 9 years old in the interview, she wrote the words she reads from her diary when she was 6 years old. There are subtitles as the spoken language is Norwegian: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo - Then follow that up with a performance of an original song she wrote when she was 11 years old and performed in this video at age 12 and really focus on her lyrics: What is Life? kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKeTo2ptgLNqiKM

Funny you'd say she wasn't singing the way her Mom wanted her to sing... In an interview, she said her mom wanted her to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and I told her No" Jazz is her wheelhouse, she grew up listening to it, said Billie Holiday is her favorite singer.... And her little lungs held that last note as long as she could... Her Grandma recognized she had an aptitude way beyond her years, and was very involved in cultivating it... She is an artist.. who's grown into the vast talent she has... A Superstar in the waiting... She's hopefully, releasing her first album sometime this year?? Can't WAIT to hear your next reaction, and you'll be amazed with what she accomplishes... And the measure of her musicality... Your reaction was fun to watch!

Angelina has been driving the bus on her musical journey since well before this performance , she asked her mom to take her to audition for this show when she was only 5 years old but her mom told her that she would have to wait until she was 7 because those were the rules . LOL . her mother also suggested to her that she sing a different song that wasnt so dark , but Angelina wasnt having any of that and the rest is history . which was thankfully for all of us obviously the correct decision . enjoy your further discovery of this young ladies ridiculous talent .

Also remember, Angie never sings a song the same way twice, so you could say they’ll all be 1st time reactions. (Here's what Angie said about her "Gloomy Sunday " choice) “The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but “Gloomy Sunday “ was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad, where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZbin before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song “Gloomy Sunday” that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song.” (Sara, Angie's mom was asked what she thought when she saw her on the screen backstage, (she was wiping her tears when watching) “I knew I had just lost my little girl to the world”) The family has always been very close & since that even more protective of her from the entertainment industry’s vultures & hyena's. From TIME magazine This 7-Year Old's Incredible Voice Will Give You Chills as She Channels Billie Holiday BY MELISSA LOCKER MARCH 10, 2014 11:59 AM EDT A 7-year-old girl managed to absolutely wow the judges on a televised talent show with her spot-on rendition of Billy Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday.” The youngster, Angelina Jordan, appeared on the stage of “Norway’s Got Talent”, barefoot and in a white dress, and announced that she would be be singing Holiday’s dark jazz standard. The skeptical judges were blown away from the moment she started singing.

O.K. by now you know the bare foot thing is not a 'thing' it is a symbol of a promise given and that promise being honored every time she performs. This is not like Joss Stone who did it because it made her feel more "connected" with the earth and her music. You're right in saying she wasn't nervous. Angelina doesn't get nervous. She knows where she is going and how she is going to get there.

David From an interview, prior to a concert in Norway a few years ago, she was asked if she found it "scary" performing in front of so many people. She laughed at this (as if to say: "'Are you kidding? Don't be silly!") and replied: "No, I think it's nothing but fun! I love singing!"

@@103mrg well I was close. I don't think I have the same sources as you. I try to relate what I've read, or heard. I also heard, or read, that a tutor asked Angelina if she got nervous or apprehensive when she performed. It was said the tutor spent the next half-hour explaining what she meant. Another one similar was if Angelina ever got afraid to sing. Angelina was supposed to have said, 'singing is like breathing for me, why would I be afraid to breathe? So you see there are stories that I've read that are interesting and sound plausible. Like the one where Sara was watching Angelina sing her audition and at some point realized that she started crying because she was, 'losing her little girl, and was going to have to share her with the world.' So that's my challenge, figuring what is real or not. I thank you for your help in that process.

The one about the tutor is new to me. That one I have my doubts about, although I'd love to see a source if available. Angelina's run on this talent show is like nothing I've ever seen. And I've seen a whole lot of talent shows. Here's her 4 remarkable performances, along with a short clip at the end of her winning the show: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWPFiWRrqb55jM0 It's only a little over 10 minutes. No subtitles but the audio and visual are both excellent. Also, if you really want to see how remarkable her performance of "Gloomy Sunday" is, here she is in a mashup duet with Billie Holiday on this song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpCYkHSKlLNgpsk It's eerie how, at 7/8 years of age, she sounds so much like Billie. And this one of them on "I'm a Fool to Want You" is even more eerie: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2HYf5aOhNhnibM There's no doubt that Billie is the most influential artist on Angelina's style. Angelina surprised the world with this performance and she still continues to surprise with each song she embodies. Easily my favorite tone of voice while being the most soulful I have heard. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
