Do 'I'd Rather Go Blind Etta James 1968 I believe. 'I’d Rather Go Blind' I saw Cadillac Records (the story of Etta James & Cadillac Records) and Beyoncé killed that song. How old was she in that? Angelina was 12 here got the mic for her birthday and what an investment. Here is Angelina, just sitting, sitting on the couch singing into the mic backwards, purposely or not and belting out the best rendition I have ever heard. I was instantly transported back to 1968 when I was 13. That was at the very height of Motown probably my favorite period in music. That music was magical. Angelina could have been born in '56 and she would have been one of best Motown Artists of the time in '68 and doing it at 12 yrs old. I can guarantee Angelina picked out that mic and again what a choice. She has now equaled all of the greatest artists of all time. The GOAT! And she's only 16! 16! The Music Industry isn't prepared for what is coming. Not sure I am. I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be able to watch this young phenom grow up in front of our eyes and I only hoped on this train about 3 yrs ago. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be 16 again and have a chance to see it all. ♥👣👸🏻🎷

This performance is beyond belief, the cinemaphotography, the ART, and this time we get to savor over 4 minutes of total bliss, no one is capable of doing this song justice like Angelina Jordan. David Foster and Linda Thompson, who co-wrote this ballad for Whitney Houston would be blown away by this performance. She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? If this feeling only happened to me that would be ok, but it happens to billions of people. We play these videos of AJ over, and over again to get our high. I was a Whitney fan from the beginning of her career to her tragic end. Whitney was great, but Angelina at 16 is far better than Whitney ever was at making you feel each word, and phrase. AJ changes every cover to make it hers and far, far better than the original. AJ is the greatest STORYTELLING ARTEST I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

Yes, I agree with everything you said. As usual, Angelina just owns this iconic song, giving us her interpretation that respects the original, but definitely has Angelina’s flavor. We understand right from the start that it’s not Whitney’s version-it’s unapologetically a cover that is going to give us the richness and depth of Angelina’s voice. There’s belting in her legendary lower register with both power and finesse. Angelina’s singing makes us listeners comfortable because we never worry or wonder whether she can follow through on what she started. The song builds in intensity, volume, and power, but there’s no hesitation or constriction in her voice. Even as a young child, she was relaxed on stage, but now, she’s in absolute control. It’s a cliche to keep saying Angelina makes songs her own, but that’s exactly what she does, and it’s stunning.

Fabulous reaction and analysis ! Angelina is a big fan of Whitney Houston and she really pays homage to her with her own rendition adding all her jazz infused nuances and inflections throughout ! She sings it in a lower key to bring her vocals into her most gorgeous timbre range ! Only 16 years old and I guarantee not many could even attempt this song at that age ! AJ did a cover of this song 3 years earlier and it was powerfully amazing but this was a vocal performance that puts her into another realm ! She looks and performs like a Diva at 16 ! Another great reaction thankyou. I Just read Philip's message and it reminded me of Angelina's I think first concert in July last year in Norway. The dress she is wearing here is the same dress she was wearing for this Song in the Concert. The dress was a shiny light blue colour. Stunning. TV 2 of Norway recorded this song. Then they asked Angelina to sing it again for them. I believe TV 2 missed part of the sound they recorded. Even though the concert sound was fine. Angelina sang this song twice perfectly exactly the same back to back. I could just see TV2 saying to Angelina. Sorry can you sing that again we stuffed up? AJ. Yes sure I would love too. Great reaction and analysis! This is a song she revisited and boy, she sounds fantastic! Her voice is more rich and has more volume and texture now that she is a little older. It's crazy to think she may still be getting better as she is getting older. On a side note, you have an Angelina troll in your Comments Section down below going by the name James @user-mb3ow3vo7u . He goes from one Angelina reactor to another, leaving negative comments, criticisms, lies, and says other singers are better than her.
