I've read she started writing this at a summer workshop, releasedit when she was 12. Lusten to the lyrics carefully. Really deep for a pre-teen. Not surprising for this genius.

Angelina said this song was inspired by Bond music and specifically Shirley Bassey. She also sang a little bit of Diamonds are Forever. It is about het family being her inspiration and protection. A wonderful original!

Angelina said this is about a strong love, one that protects you. It could about her family (as many have hypothesized) and just as easily could be a Psalm as David might have written to God. Such is the depth and breadth of Angelina's song-writing skills.

In this talk show Angelina gave an interview before her performance in which she was asked after Angelina talked about her life if she felt like a 12 year old girl. Angelina's answer " Only when I look in my passport " 😅😅😅😅 👣💯 *2* 💯👣

Hello Adrianna. This is Angelina's 3rd original, written and performed at age 12. The song is a tribute and thanks to her family for all the support they have given her through the years. She in a way says that she is sorry for all the sacrifices they have made (Sorry for all that I am...) If we read just a LITTLE between the lines and add an ever so small dash of wishful thinking, we may also hear her thank her fans, her Angels as she calls them (Surround me with angels, don't let them go.) LOL. That's how I choose to look at it personally at least 🤣😂 Again the luminosity increased by the value of 5 when I saw that you'd done another Sunday reaction to our Supergirl. Good morning, Adrianna. This is an incredible song. Such depth and insight! Not to mention beautiful. Yes. In the interview that precedes this performance, she admits to the influence of the James Bond sound. It seems to me she's always jazz grounded, but she uses what serves the story she's telling. I love listening to you---you have a nice speaking voice, but you don't waste it. Your comments are precise and to the point. Hopefully, you've got a few more things to cover, and then, album? Happy Sunday Adrianna, What a great way to start your day! 12-year-old Angelina sounding like she's 30 and sending a very personal message with her music. She's grateful that her family has always supported her through the years and they accept her as she is. No question this could be the theme of a James Bond movie. As you stated, her originals are not anyone genre and each is so different than the other. We will hopefully see a little later in the year when she introduces her album of originals what direction she is going. You can't put Angelina into any one genre. She is a complete artist and can take any song from nearly any genre and slay it! Her versatility is a huge asset which will make her that much more popular as she enters the music biz with the release of her first album later this year.

Angelina is and has been very aware of the lurking dangers surrounding the industry. She has had many musical mentors and friends that have been mismanaged or misled into disastrous untimely endings. She also is aware her dream and gifts have placed a great deal of pressures on her family and they have been there to protect and guide her while she focuses on her art. What an amazing young lady she was at that age to recognize this and write a wonderful song about it. It's what she does, who she is. Good reaction.

Some have kindly defined Angelina in the covers as a "cannibal" in the sense that she swallows the author of the song and proposes it again with your variations, but here we are dealing with one of your 5 originals, writing and musical collaboration Sue, each once I listen to it my hairs stand on end and, if I think about age, my brain starts to smoke, there's nothing to do, at the beginning I said to myself "but yes she's very good and this addiction sooner or later it will end"... nope.. nope... the point is that I'm happy about it and what keeps my ears and heart glued to Angelina the most are your originals.. wonderful!! Actually you can honestly say she has 8. Let's take a look; first 3, "What Is Life", "Oslo" and this one "Shield" all wrote by her and had help with the music on this one. She was wanting a James Bond sound in which she succeeded. Then 2 songs were written for her voice, "A Song For A" and "Above The Water" at age 13. Then at age 14 under Republic Records were the next 2, "Million Miles" at age 14 and "7th Heaven at age 15. The last one has a lot of controversy and was actually recorded at age 10 and was leaked when she was 12 after "Shield", but before the Original Artist, Baby Fuzz recorded it. That is my take, God Bless!

Great reaction sweetie. Angie actually wrote this at 11 and is 12 here singing it. She sang it again a year later at an outdoor concert and of course she didn't sing it the same. She also used a smaller band. You should also react to it. Please also react to her tribute to Aretha Franklin right after she died when she was 12. Angie did a beautiful version of "Natural Woman". ❤🙏
