It's better than 95% of soul/R&B songs released in the last few years, so I think Angelina Jordan would be a household name around the world by now. Beautiful song. A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. As usual, a vocal master piece. Angelina recorded this demo on January 3, 2017 which was 7 days before her 11th birthday! This great song was written by Baby FuzZ (Brandon Lowry also known as Sterling Fox) who later recorded his own version. We don't know why Angelina's family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZbin video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.

Dear girl, This leaked Demo, is considered an Angelina Jordan Original, at 10! Experts agree! “An original, is any song which was not recorded by any artist before. It may be composed by the person singing it, or by someone else." Baby FuzZ and 3 others wrote this song at a Music Camp. He actually performed the “Cover” that Angelina had already recorded in 2016, at 10. Demo or not, it was published, uploaded, on Nov. 11, 2018. Reportedly, his offical video, published Dec 9, 2018, (two years later) was met with very little fanfare. 😇🌸(After 380 various videos, this remains in my top 10!)

This interpretation, like other similar "inventions" of Angelina, are very personal and are part of what makes her an anomalous artist, if not unique, in terms of talent and musical imagination. This for me is definitely one of the songs (you can't call them covers, such personal interpretations) most representative of her musical baggage, she has made a really fantastic version of it, with superb register changes and tone. I think we have to realize that if her mom turned down Disney, Sony, and I'm sure many other huge players in the entertainment world, who undoubtedly offered her money well beyond most peoples wildest dreams, to get Angelina under contract but to no avail. Not until 'Republic' was able to succeed in the endeavor by checking all the boxes concerning control of Angelina as per Sara's demands, is why Sara went with them. Let us hope that the song can eventually be resurrected to Sara's satisfaction, for I agree 'wholeheartedly' with you. Her vocal phrasing, tone, breathy releases, and a host of other musical elements she learned from Billie Holiday, is on full display and beyond extraordinary. That was when she was 10, so imagine what she could do with it at 17? Just a repeat of the original style by her is fine by me.

The end sequence of this song is particularly beautiful. The piano chords are so simple and well chosen, dissolving into Angelina's delicate vocalization of the word "you", before her holding up the moon. Most lovely. Her performing this at ten seems completely impossible.

This demo, which was never released on orders by her mom, I'm sure, was actually what the writer/singer Baby Fuzz bases his rendition off of when it was released. There is a line in the ending section where she talks about being so in love that she is willing to hold her head under water and I'm sure her mom Sara wasn't thrilled about her singing it, especially when you realize she was only 10 at the time. Sara has made Angelina change lyrics to other songs by Amy Winehouse whenever they represented dark themes and even though this song could very well be the most strikingly impressive song she has ever done and definitely would have 'zoomed' up the charts, Mama said no !

If this recording is really just a demo then maybe it was never meant to be released. A demo is not usually meant for commercial release. It’s usually to try to sell the song to another artist, sell the artist to a record label or as a demo to the rest of the band or group.

@@pjg58x Baby Fuzz was part of the writing team for the song and then when it became clear that Angelina wouldn't be the artist presenting it to the public, Baby Fuzz tried his best to emulate Angelina's powerful vocals and released it himself. He knew, like anyone who ever heard Angelina's demo, that had she released it, the sales would have gone through the roof, whereas his rendition went nowhere. Other than her young age (10) and/or the original lyrics, what would cause her mom to not pursue the formal release of the song? There has never been any comment from Sara as to the exact reason(s) why?

Cover with a particular creation, the original was released and immediately withdrawn, in the meantime Angelina had already created the cover which, at this point, came out before the original of Baby Fuzz, so as not to contradict herself, Angelina gives a wonderful performance, thanks Adrianna, beautiful reaction, good life ..
