Thanks for another veronica reaction to & appreciation of another Angelina performance - this time in an acoustic, casual setting. I love her acoustic performances as they allow her magical voice to really shine through. Some other acoustic gems to consider: Every time We Say Goodbye, How Great Thou Art, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, California Dreaming & Always On My Mind (this was shortly after her grandfather passed & you might need tissues). I'm pretty firmly convinced that no one other than Patsy Cline or Angelina Jordan should sing this song! She has a couple of other "rehearsal" videos of her singing this, but never really as a finished product. I think that now she would put other singers to shame singing this amazing piece! In reference to Billie Holliday, Etta James, etc., I believe the word you were reaching for was "soulful". As to the song itself, you are exactly right in that this is a VERY tricky song to sing. Willie Nelson, in writing this particular song, threw out all of the conventions of Nashville country music songwriting, and came up with an all time classic!! Unfortunately this is not in a studio but at her friend Egil Clausen's house (on guitar) so sound quality not the greatest but Angelina's voice is magic regardless. A few of those names you mentioned are big influences in her life, Billy Holiday, Etta James, Dinah Washington, Any Winehouse, Adele, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, just to name a few. You have a keen ear for music for sure Angie. Angelina has performed "Crazy" several times, and all of them are very good. She's 11 in this one with her good friend Egil Classen on guitar. But a while back she did a TikTok of this classic song, and other than Patsy's version, it's the best I've ever heard. Someone took that great performance and created an enhanced version with the Jordianaires (Patsy's backup singers) singing backup.
