There are so many good ones. One I think get to little attention is her rendition of I'm a fool to want you at age 11. There is a video where she sings the vocal part in the studio. The band playing in the video is the Norwegian armed forces staff band who made the record "it's magic" whit Angelina when she was 11 yo. Great reaction by the way. I agree 100% that understadedness is an underrated skill on any instrument. It makes the runs and riffs and vibratoes more effective when they first appear. IMO Angelinas strongest talent is conveying the emotion of the songs she sings. Not to say she isn't a musical virtuoso.

Many of these videos of Angelina and her guitarist are just jam sessions with Angelina trying out some new song. Lots of times you’ll see her reading the lyrics. So the eye signals are just them staying in synch. Sometimes it’s Angelina saying: just follow me-and her accompanist just looks for clues where she’s going. You’re right-all you need is a great song, good backing, Angelina, and a mic.

"EVERY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE" on the roof of a TV station in Norway at 10 years old. She sings with only acoustic guitar and the guitarist is awesome. The only time I've seen her with him. It's an amazing performance and one of her best imo. Nice pick up on the "vibe" thing. All of Angelina's guitarists follow her lead and usually it's a one and done.

Yep, you're right, she says "Lets do Crazy" Egil goes over the chord changes, then she says "Just follow me" & they both wing it. This is just raw jamming for fun, not a serious performance. She is 11 here & I believe she's in the 5th grade! Think about that!!!

Yes, she was 11 here and her voice was so much better when she was 10-15. Now, at age 18 (2024), she mainly sings in the darker range. Her career could really set off if she returned to her "old", younger (higher and brighter) voice. I can't believe nobody is advising her better. Perhaps she can't sing like this anymore because she has grown up? I am well aware that many of her fans don't agree with me.

The guitarist is Egil Clausen who is has been Angelina's collaborator for many years, particularly when she is in Norway. While she has been living in the US her guitarist was Ivan Mendez. Both these guitarists have collaborated on some of Angelina's best covers. In recent interviews, by a reactor, both guitarists said that the normal process with Angelina was that they wouldn't know which songs she wanted to do before they arrived for the session. They would discuss what to do and usually record the song in one or two takes. Angelina often reads the lyrics of her phone while singing.

It seems AJ is working like "crazy" behind the scenes, and putting out her covers, like that, seems also going into the same direction. I read, she and RR were putting out a poll, where her first concert should be held. Grr I am not able to come to the US, for quiet some time. I hope she does concerts in Europe.

The timing that the guitarist is using is typical Texas Swing style. It really is more of jazz thing where the emphasis is never on the down beat. The start of the measure comes around and you expect the emphasis to be on the one but there is a delay which catches you by surprise. It's a really relaxed and laid-back style that removes all tension from the feel.

I've been around a long time, and I was 18 when Patsy released this song in 1961. I've heard many, many covers since then. Some are very good and some are just okay. But none is up to the standard that Patsy set---Until now. 11 years old, cheap microphone, non studio setting, and she just kills it!! Actually, for emotional resonance, it's better than Patsy's (IMO).
