Angelina was doing the pleading and crying for Narges Mohammadi's two children, who haven't seen their mother in years, since she has been imprisoned in Iran for being an outspoken activist for human rights, especially women's rights. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.

We fans theorize about her state of mind here. The recipient of the award is in an Iranian prison. Her children who are 17 year old twins have not seen their mother for some years. It is very likely she is singing to the children on behalf of their mother. No doubt her Iranian heritage factors in. So you just might be right. Notice at the end she touches her heart and looks right perhaps to the children who are her age.

Wonderful touching reaction Samantha. Further to others' comments, about the tear stream you thought you saw - this was from a live television broadcast. A fairly short time before Angelina performed, the Peace Prize winner's 17yo twin children (same age as AJ) were describing what it's been like not having seen their mother FOR 9 YEARS. The daughter said here or in another interview that she can't even remember what her mother's voice sounds like. 😅Given AJ's close family relationship, that likely hit her hard. So you are very likely correct about AJ having recently teared up - so observant!

Wow is appropriate. It was a very emotional event. The children and father were there. The children accepted the award for their mother, who has been in prison for much of their life. The performance cold not have been better. As for the tear it’s not surprising as she pour all of her emotions into the performance.

I have a blowup of AJ's face from that performance, and she did not have mascara streaks down her face, although I had tears and shortness of breath and I have watched this video more that 75 times. To quote AJ, she stated, "don't cry while watching this performance, but I will cry watching it myself." It was obvious that AJ felt each and every word she song.

Think you are right about the tears. Her gran is Iranian so this concert must have been so emotional to her. She feels emotions so much. Last July in Norway I was standing a few meters from her and she got so tearful just thanking everyone for coming to see her. Tears were running down her face as she started to sing Suspicious Minds. I think most of the audience were just choked up as well.

He had such a powerful and beautiful voice that filled the whole auditorium. It was a sublime moment that I shared with my wife, and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. At that time, I thought to myself; how could anyone top that performance, but 56 years later a 17-year-old Angelina Jordan just did. I notice she is introduced as an "international star". These sorts of people don't appear at 'festivals' or on 'circuits' with such high 'status' to maintain, their services aimed at providing 'moments' for only the most exclusive events. So, under this performing category, we are not likely to have many chances to see her under 'live' circumstances, such as at 'Portsmouth' where there is no 'world-beating' cause or theme, such as 'climate change' afoot.

I do hope you are wrong and we see her schedule other concerts. Angelina is not like "these sorts of people" and she has appeared at festivals in Norway, she is humble and true to her heart. she truly loves her fans she calls her Angels and we love her, she has recently stated she can't wait to see our faces again real soon. But she is young and will move into performing at a slower pace as she sees fit. Her plans are now set for the next three years I have been told.

I always tear up AFTER I watch and hear this performance.
