Nice reaction, thanks. The ability this girl has to move those who listen to her is absolutely incredible. This interpretation of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, it made this legendary song perfectly suited for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", a singer who has already sung on 2 different occasions at the Nobel Prizes and at only 17 years old.💛🧡❤

Please Don't Cry Angelina Jordan's fans were moved to tears by her stunning performance of Unchained Melody at the Pulitzer Price ceremony in Oslo, Norway with the KORK Orchestra. The young singer, who captivated the audience with her soulful voice, told her angels in an interview that she hoped they would not cry when they listened to her, as she felt the emotion of the event and might cry herself when she watched it later. But we believe that crying is not a negative thing, it's an expression of joy and emotion when we witness her. Angelina Jordan has a talent that reaches our hearts and souls, and we are thankful for her generosity in sharing it with us. © Larry D. Pifer

Rooster, happy new year to you and thanks for your reaction to this highly respectful and emotional performance. I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023^^^^^ This video is a masterpiece that I have watched more than 75 times. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. The song captures his emotions of loneliness, hope and longing, and has been covered by many artists over the years, but none in my lifetime of 76 years have conveyed such emotion as Angelina Jordan did at this performance. © Larry D. Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference.

Roady, Happy New Year to you and yours. Miss Angelina sings a song about an imprisoned man, longing for his loved ones. She is part iranian (Grandma Mery), singing for a imprisoned mother (sentenced to 31 years and 154 whiplashes) that wanted equal rights for all. Singing to the rest of this woman´s family. Dear friend, FYI and for others, the NOBEL PRIZES (5 categories) are the HIGHEST praise any human can get, regardless of color, religion or nationality. To be invited as a guest is an honor in itself, to be invited to perform there is something to write home about. Miss Angelina is the only artist, that was invited TWICE before adulthood, tomorrow she will be 18 years old. The orchestra KORK are, so to speak, friends. She worked with them since she was 10 yo. A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. On 12/10/23 she sing in Oslo at the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration - Unchained Melody tribute to 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. "Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the prison film Unchained (1955), hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack. It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers in 1965. According to the song's publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of "Unchained Melody" have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages.

Unchained Melody: "Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the prison film Unchained (1955), ... Alex North (born Isadore Soifer, December 4, 1910 - September 8, 1991) was an American composer best known for his many film scores, including A Streetcar Named Desire (one of the first jazz-based film scores), Viva Zapata!, Spartacus, Cleopatra, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?[1] He received fifteen Academy Award nominations for his work as a composer; while he did not win for any of his nominations, he received an Honorary Academy Award in 1986, the first for a composer. He wrote the music for Unchained Melody as the theme for the prison film Unchained (1955),[2] It has become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, with over 1,500 recordings made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages.[3] First theatrical release was by Todd Duncan (January 19, 1955) and then by Liberace (February 21, 1955) I was a Righteous Brothers fan, but they should not have messed with this classic. My personal opinion is that Bobby Hatfield destroyed Unchained Melody. Al Hibbler sang this classic in a movie in 1955 about a black man in prison and did a great version of this ballad. Again, this is a ballad and was recorded by Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, and the greatest version of all was done by John Gary. Now, after hearing AJ's version of Bohemians Rhapsody, I am sure she could do a better job arranging it than the version by Bobby Hatfield that she performed as a child of 9 years of age. I just experienced a short clip from Angelina Jordan's concert in Portsmouth, NH Sept 22, 2023, where she performed Unchained Melody that she rearranged, and it was glorious to say the least. I knew she would put her magic touch on one of the greatest emotional song that has ever written. .© Larry D. Pifer
