I just got a MagShock. It’s my second chair, and different from what I’m used to. I find the joystick programming to be kind of wonky compared to my first chair. The acceleration is VERY slow, which makes it difficult to use the elevator in my building. It also seems kind of touchy in a weird way. It’s made me nervous about using it. I want to get one of the joystick programmers when they’re back in stock. I know I just need to suck it up and use it to get used to it. I really miss the responsiveness of my first chair’s joystick. But there are so many things about the MagShock that are a vast improvement over my first chair. Thanks for the video! (From another zebra with a purple MagShock.)
@AngelaHepp3 жыл бұрын
Oh, that's a bummer! Have you contacted the company? I haven't had any issues with mine, so maybe you have a defective joystick, which can easily be replaced.
@bonnierobb9211 Жыл бұрын
I have an all terrain ,fold and go wheelchair almost exactly like yours. It only weighs 50 lbs including the batteries. It's a wonderful machine but i'm not getting much use from it because it runs so fast . On the lowest speed setting it's still goes so fast i can barley control it. I turned it up to high speed one time and it leaps forward so fast it throws a person back against the seat ! I had a wheelchair mechanic look at it but he says there's no way to turn down the speed . He said i will have to just push the joystick very gently .I'm not very good at this.If you have any helpful tips i would be grateful. I'm very happy for your family to have a great chair.
@AngelaHepp Жыл бұрын
Hmm, that sounds like a defect. Mine doesn't behave that way at all. It's very easy to control at the lowest speed. Maybe you accidentally got the Turbo racing model. ;) Just kidding. Seriously, though, I would let the company know. Maybe the controller needs to be calibrated.

Amazing! I have EDS+POTS too, and my PT thinks it's time for a wheelchair. She recommended this model and it looks really good! The only thing is that I need to be able to get it into my car independently, and my arms are way too messed up to lift this (hence not being able to push myself.) Have you looked into hoists or lifts or anything?
@AngelaHepp3 жыл бұрын
I haven't, sorry. 😢 But I *think* I remember seeing one on the MagShock website. I still use mine and love it so much! We live in the mountains of Utah now, and I've taken it on snow, ice, slush, through woods, over rocks, and it's really amazing. It does have trouble sometimes, but it's incredible the places I've been able to go. I especially love the ability to go up a steeper grade than any other wheelchair.

This looks like a wonderful chair! I have used a manual wheelchair with a smart drive power assist. Sadly it died recently, and am hoping to get a new wheelchair. This one looks so great! I am kind of scared about how it manages downhill? Are there any manual brakes or does it go full speed down with no control? Thanks ahead of time! ✌️💗
@AngelaHepp4 жыл бұрын
It has electric brakes! It will only go as fast as you push the joystick. If you let go of the joystick in the middle of a hill, it will just sit there. 😊

I live in an apartment and we have a ramp, can the chair make a sharp turn to get off the ramp and into the building? Not sure what the grade is, but it is fairly steep, do you go up ramps? How can we find out the grade? You did not show this in the video.
@AngelaHepp3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the chair can turn within its own footprint and go up greater inclines than most other chairs. The exact specs are on the company website.

The padding on the top bar used to be included with the earlier models, I don't know why they discontinued to supply it.
@AngelaHepp4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was kind of frustrated to have to come up with a solution myself, and when I emailed the company to ask about a suggestion for padding it, or an accessory I could purchase, they weren't able to recommend anything that worked. Thankfully the solution my hubby came up with works like a charm and looks just like it was made for the chair!

Hi Angie I found your channel through the food institute that had some information for making baby formula, I guess that Video was many years a go and I am not sure if you remembered. I would like to make the formula but still really nervous and I had some questions like did your little girl had any anemia? Pediatricians don't recommend feeding babies under a year old fresh milk and was just wondering your experience with making baby formula. Thank you.

I don't see why it wouldn't work for you! I still use it and love it to this day! I've used it in snow and slush and mud and on hills and rough terrain, and the only time it doesn't do well is with loose, small gravel or sand or super slick ice.
