Excellent use of heat gun. I'll have to try that to paint a coir mat using vinyl and flex seal. Thanks again for all the amazing content.

Thank you for this video another surface to etch on. But I definitely would waste a little material so I wouldn’t have to deal with painters tape. Can’t wait to try it on my cheese slate board
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I also just make bigger vinyl pieces but often KZbin viewers do not like me wasting material! HA!

Thank you for sharing. You mentioned you could do a charcuterie board... how would you seal that to make it food save or is that not necessary?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
Slate is food safe and etching it doesn't change that.

Can you apply a sealer once the Armour Etch has dried so that the etching stays evenly visible?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
Not sure!
@cathysiddall7355 Жыл бұрын
that's reat love to start trying this. afyer done and etchung dries do u need to put clear coat on to protect the etching from glasses tha get wet from melting ice in glass or hot coffee on this these coasters?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
No need for protection.

Hi Angie, very cool idea. Does the etching cream come in colors? For example what if I had white skate and wanted black etching.
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
It does not. The white is just the etched look of the slate. The color of the cream does not matter.

my slate looks a littke scratched from the burnishing. do you have any suggestions how to remedy this?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
Through the vinyl or the areas where there wasn't vinyl? I would say wrap your scraper in felt to help that.
@carolinemann2312 Жыл бұрын
how do you make a cheese slate impervious to grease? I have heard that the oil from the cheese messes with the etching.
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
Generally vinegar with water will take it off! Or you can do lemon juice and baking soda.
@carolinemann2312 Жыл бұрын
Good to know - thank you!

I'd like to add colour. Any ideas how to colour the etch. Thanks
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I don't think the colors would work on the slate but they might?
@sandybrickman1392 Жыл бұрын
Will using the heat gun help with glass too? Or will it distort too much?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
Yes it can! It is mostly because the slate surface isn't perfectly smooth.

Etching cream is unavailable on amazon and they are not sure when it will be....is there any chance of another recommended ❓🤷♀️
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I am sure there is another listing. It is Amour Etch and probably is somewhere else on Amazon or your local craft store.
@meaganmangum4998 Жыл бұрын
When you wipe it, is it with something dry or wet?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I removed the etching cream with a wet wipe for the video. You can rinse in the sink.
@reneelary2358 Жыл бұрын
Can you add color to etching?
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I am not sure if the color will work with the slate like it does the glass as I haven't tried it!
@debbiemrwn85311 ай бұрын
do you seal these?
@AngieHolden10 ай бұрын
No. No need.
@beckymills9284 Жыл бұрын
does slate need to be treated? do you just wipe it off?
@jakimills1237 Жыл бұрын
No need to treat the slate. Just wash the armour etch off under a tap
