Clever. I wish I had the sublimation equipment. I have not gotten into it cause I have no room.🙁 This reminded me what I used to do years ago with sweat shirts. I used a quilt block, sewed it into the front of shirt,inside then cut the front to expose the block. Had a lot of fun and made many. Going to see if I can do this do using sublimation. Thanks Angie, love your videos. You where the one that made up my mind on the cricut maker. Thanks again..

I’ve read multiple comments about the polyester fabric eventually coming off. I like your idea of sewing. How did it look with the sewn area around the cut section? Did you use a decorative stitch or regular stitch?
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely sew around it! I just went the quick and easy route as I will probably wear this one or two times max.
@lauramartin73002 жыл бұрын
@@rabrp82 I just used a straight stitch when I did the sweatshirts cause I cut away the shapes after. It was easier along a straight line. Could maybe do a decorative stitch over it.Have a great day, happy sewing.
@rabrp822 жыл бұрын
@@lauramartin7300 thank you for your reply and I’ll definitely be sewing the fabric in. I would want them to last a little longer and hold up to wear and tear better with sewing. Have a wonderful day!!

Hi Angie! I love this idea and of course, as always, your video! Were the shirts that you used 100% cotton?

I think one was 100% and the other was 90%. Just the white panel was polyester.

Looks awesome. How did you get the white to sublimate or is it a light gray?
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
The panel itself was white so any white areas just don't have any ink.
@jfarrell57982 жыл бұрын
Angie, love this! Thanks for sharing. Clarification, you only need 1 panel to sublimate on for 1 shirt, right? You cut two from the pillowcase and guessing you used the second panel for the second shirt. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
Correct! I had two shirts so I cut them at the same time.

Thank you for the tutorial. I saw it off of Instagram and will be trying it this weekend. Can it be made with cotton shirts or does it have to be a specific thread count? Since the sublimation is not going directly on the shirt.
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
You just need polyester for the white panel. The shirt can be whatever you have. Doesn't matter at all.

I printed them. But you can order sublimation prints from Etsy. You could do this same project with Infusible Ink or even HTV.

P.S. The tape you used to attach your design. You didn't have to iron that to bond it? I've used a iron on tape which bonds great. Heat and Bond. I didn't see it in the supply list. Thanks again.
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
The tape I am trying is a no heat tape. It is basically glue in a strip!
@lauramartin73002 жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden oh, didn't realize that was out there for material and not a heat and bond. I have for paper. Will have to check it out. How does it hold up in washings? Thanks again
@AngieHolden2 жыл бұрын
It is not bad. Similar to other fabric glues I have used actually and easier to use! Fabric glue is definitely not a substitute for sewing in my opinion but good for projects like this!

How well does the tape hold up after washing?

It does okay. Similar to a fabric glue if you have used one before. They are usually good for several washes but not as good as sewing!

Be cool to like dye or bleach middle (back shirt, but bleach till turn orange) then cut the shirt with design behind it…or even put some bats or ghosts on the outside shirt…
