Hey Angie, If you're still using that foil quit and the cord is still la problem, you could always get a cord manager, like they use for Dremel tools. It's a clamp-on, height adjustable, pivoting armature that keeps the cord out of the way, yet allows free-enough movement. I have one I use when grinding the designs on aircraft aluminum panels prior to airbrushing them. Very handy. BTW, I understand the arthritis issues. Again your video was excellent! I just recently got my Cricut foil transfer kit. Getting the foil to behave is .... patience & breath required. LOL! Thank you for everything you do!

Love my Cricut and think I could do many more projects with it than what I have done in the past. I totally loved this video Angie!! I was mesmerised by all that can be achieved with the tool! I had two questions if you don't mind .. 1) why did you have to move the star wheel and what would happen if you didn't do that? and 2) A lot of those projects had a few different elements to them e.g. scoring, then foiling, then cutting. Can you create all three different 'commands' in one project on Design Space? (sorry, I'm new to Cricut so just getting to grips with it!), thank you for all the inspiration! xx
@camillamilward74984 жыл бұрын
Update! I just saw a video of yours that answers no 2!
@AngieHolden4 жыл бұрын
The star wheels can actually give enough pressure to transfer some of the foil. I have messed up and NOT moved them and it been okay. But I have also not moved them and it left some foil places that it shouldn't have been. It is best to always move them so your project doesn't get messed up!

Thank you so much for a more descriptive details and demonstration. I am new to cricut. I have been trying to make labels for my products with my explorer using wood grain textured paper and the foil will not fully adhere. Watching this I think I may need to change the material setting, I have it on light cardstock. What did you put in for design space for it to cut out a full sticker and not the inside details? My labels have draw, foil and print and cut in the design, but on the cut part it keeps cutting the letters and not the actual label.

LOVE! Mine is our for delivery and I cannot wait. Question - I have the Explorer Air 2 and have read a few different opinions on the "pressure" for the foil tool - should we change it to "more" or leave it at "default"? I am going to (well, try) be doing this for my wedding invitations and the cardstock I will foil on is 100lb. Thanks!! Your videos are great!

I used the default pressure for all of my projects and was pleased with the result. I think I would start there!

Always love your videos, you are so thorough. I noticed you shirt looks like you have a Cricut machine on it so I have to ask where you got the Svg for that?

Hi I have used bold tip for first time, and it was working very well, but in second time to make same thing , it didn't transferred image as it should be, and the output is pale (it is not complete image, some outlines are missing), and I tried for several times to make it, and in every time I taut my foil sheet very well to ensure no any winks or any bulges , putted all star wheels on right side, and putted tape around all 4 sides with whole pieces of tape strips, although I have tried to replace tip with new one, but the problem is still as it. Also, I have increased foil transfer tip pressure, nevertheless I have noticed the tip doesn't go down enough, and it doesn't press on foil strongly, form where the problem do you think?

I also have issues with bolder lines at times. My guess would be it is your paper.

Great video, I learned a lot and want to go buy my own transfer tool. Question, on the vellum foiling you had the plastic guide wheels in their usual positions, including at least 1 or two that would run onto the foil/vellum but I didn't see any lines from them. Was this an 'oops' should have moved them but luckily it went ok, or do you not need to worry about accidental transfer with the vellum? I've never used vellum for anything, so I don't know much about it.

It was DEFINITELY an oops moment. It did look fine so I went with it. I would definitely move them every time though.

Hi! Thank you for your videos on this! I’m currently learning to use an explorer air 2 that was passed down to me by a friend. It is a long shot, but did you ever use the cricut tool with your explorer 2? I saw some posts saying it didn’t work great !

It works fine on an Explore Air 2. The issue generally is people using the wrong type of cardstock or materials with it.

@@AngieHolden amazing! Thank you! We are making her drink tickets shaped like her dog saying this one’s on her 🥰 going to binge all these again before we start but it looks fairly simple!

Great video! I am curious, as I'm new to this... Can you use foil to create a design on the front of a card, flip the card stock, and then have it foil a message on the inside of the card? Or would that ruin the foil design that was done previously? Thanks for your insight!
