Wow absolutely loved that video, very informative and well presented. I had 2 day's visiting the the temple's at Angkor Wat and like you sometimes felt rushed, but absolutely loved the place, hope to go back. Shame about not being there for sunrise. Maybe another time. Jungle fide 😂😂😂 brilliant. Thanks sooo much for sharing this video, very much appreciated... .

I was there for three days and they still weren’t enough to thoroughly visit and admire the temples . It is so vast. 😊

This makes me what to see Angkor Wat during the rain then see all the Khmer temples dotted across Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.

@@sojeanify oh yes you really should it’s definitely a sight to see. I can’t wait to return to see more.

Very interesting Sonja, good use of fact retrieval from your visit to Bath Cathedral too - impressive ! ... I'd heard of Angkor Wat through the half-Cambodian family I used to know, but it looked absolutely nothing like I'd imagined, I was almost expecting a kind of theme park vibe the way they used to talk about it ! Also the four temples were all vastly different in style I noticed from the various gold covered ones or bright red / white ones I recall from your other trips across Thailand and the Far East....

I hope to return later in the year I really love it there. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Awesome! Thank you. i ve always wanted to go there since i was a kid love Khmer. Have you been to Ayutthaya in Thailand I think that last temple is called Banyan Temple the first temple built for Buddha. theres also a beautiful Khmer temple built on a volcano on the border to Thailand and Cambodia near Surin. Phanom Rung Historical Park Really worth a trip if your that way will most probably be off the tourist map maybe though it was 25 years ago i went there. Certainly be less touristy maybe if you went to Surin and went with a tour. I had friend there who drove me as its a bit tricky location.

Ooooo no I have not been to Ayutthaya yet, not sure when I will get back to Thailand as last time I was there immigration gave me a hard time. Even though I have never overstayed in the past and had not been there for almost 10 months!!! They just didn’t make me feel welcome, which made me sad. I’m really loving Cambodia 🇰🇭 the people are super friendly and welcoming. 🤗

Hugs thank you so much for sharing Angkor Wat, it is one of those places that you add to a bucket list and then as years go by, you realise that you are never gonna get there.....but you sharing this means I have seen it through you........am a spiritual person......and i went down the rabbit hole, when you said God.....as it can have various meanings according to religion or beliefs you have.......so it meant whole lot more to me... loved the second stop....i also have not seen the Tomb Raider.....though have heard about .....looking at all the carvings around the 3rd Temple...ie the terrace of the Leper King, I realised that the bronze Buddha i have must be from around here cos is is not chubby.....it is slim........many think "Buddha" relates to the fat bellied one you rub for good luck......then you spoilt me by showing me the elephants......seeing all these temples.....it made me think if walls could talk what a colourful history we would have heard about......I really did not realise how big Angkor Wat is.......and thank you again for sharing with this Brit...hugs as always Stay Safe and Stay Strong

Hi Sonja! If you are able to share could you do a video on how much you have budgeted for your 2 trips? Me and my husband are desperate to travel around SE Asia for a year! Keep up the great videos! 💖

I visited this historical spot back in the day somewhere in 2019 before the pandemic, there was an absolute attraction to be fair. I was on the mend, I spent 3 days in Seam Reap, quite a bit of a French colonial vibe that attracted me, enjoy your day, Cambodia is my cuppa even though it's been recognised as a 3rd-world nation but that does not bother my affection for it
@nanwithabackpackАй бұрын
Yes there is still so much poverty here which is sad. The people are just to warmest kindest most beautiful I think I have ever met. Cambodia 🇰🇭 has a place in my heart ♥️

Temple number is Bayon, stunning, although too many monkeys for my liking. We had four days in Siem Reap (as you know :-) ) and could have stayed for me but we will return.
