Sister, I have only just discovered your journey today and am so glad I have. I think that this is a rather wonderful video, warm, intelligent and insightful. It is uplifting to see "younger" people still wishing to explore deeply the religious life, it gives me hope for the future of Anglicanism. I am in my mid sixties , married and with children but you have lifted my heart.

Greetings, my name is Carol and I have just found your video. I am a Consecrated Virgin of the Roman Catholic Church. I discovered a call to this vocation after in 1997 and confirmed through the words of a very holy Little Sister of The Poor. My discernment period was approximately two and half years before being received for the formal ceremony of Consecration under the Roman Canon. God has been so wonderful to me since then and been with me in challenging times supporting, consoling and comforting, and in times of celebration. God bless you and your community. Greetings from Dunedin, New Zealand. Carol Taurua O.V.

Thank you Sister Lizzie, for your openness. I just hope that you read this. Your deep love for Christ is both apparent and infectious! I too was selected for ordination in the CofE, but I was surprised by the distinct lack of Christian character and love in many fellow ministers, not least my training incumbent! I decided to withdraw from curacy (after two years) and therefore lost my PTO but thankfully remain in holy orders. I originally came to faith via a Benedictine monastery and I do wonder whether I was in fact being called to the religious life, although to be honest, myself and the DDO did briefly look into it, but I said no way! I am now exploring the Anglican religious life. I would dearly like to converse with you. I hope that one day our paths may cross. God bless you.

Most Anglican clergy try to dissuade their parishioners from joining convents or monasteries. Furthermore, many Anglican nuns are currently defecting to Rome, where celibacy is more acceptable and celebrated. It can be difficult even finding viable monastic foundations in the Anglican communion which are not rapidly evolving into senescent retirement communities. In order to have enough residents to even remain functional most of these places would indeed need to become literally retirement communities where pensioners were taken in to avail themselves of the cheap lodgings therein. This is definitely not the up and coming thing. It has never really been the “done thing”, at least among Anglicans and Episcopalians. And then finally, a very high percentage of Anglican monastic postulants and juniors quit prior to taking life vows, or nearly 90% in my experience. But then the Catholics don’t do much better these days. It seems like the only growing monastic foundations are to be found amongst the Eastern Orthodox churches. At least the Orthodox don’t insist upon psychoanalyzing all of their vocations inquirers knowing quite realistically that such processes are off-putting and patronizing and antithetical to promoting vocations. And then the Orthodox also know enough to simply clothe novices in the monastic habit immediately rather than making them wear some sort of ridiculous probationary garb which again, is off-putting and promotes doubt as to whether or not one really has a vocation.

the anglican church is a separate church from the roman catholic church. there are many differences even though many of the rituals are very similar.
@peacehope7365 Жыл бұрын
@@RafaelCosta-fy7tb There are wonderful Christians in all the traditions - Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant. Anglicanism is sort of a mix of Catholic and Protestant. Technically protestant, but some high churches are very Catholic in practice. Anglican clergy can marry and women can be ordained, so there are those differences. I know Henry VIII started it to get divorced, but God can sanctify things born of bad beginnings. I grew up Anglican. Most British people do. I love Jesus, and see all Christians as family, including Catholics. I honestly think it's how much love we have that matters more than which church we attend. Judge not others.
