my vote goes to noodle rods personally, but spring bobbers are honestly the best bang for your buck when a person wants to fish for panfish. you can take a $15 cheap medium action rod and add a spring bobber for a couple bucks, now you can fish for crappies all day long.

Jason Mitchell spring-bobber rods have iced many pan fish for me and hold up to unexpected big pike. I haven’t tried the meat stick yet. JM rods are awesome!

Spring bobber, noodle rod just not enough back bone to me I like a rod with backbone!👍🎣
@joeykrull98213 жыл бұрын
only way them soft tips on noodles are going to break is if you jam the tip or if you reel a lure up to tip tight, springs will not get the tight cadence you feel with the jig and will make the bait swim or glide more than quiver or bounce... im a noodle guy

spring bobbers are like condoms, sometimes you have to use one

I like both noodles and spring bobbers. I build my own rods, and I've found that the TiN blend spring bobbers are amazing compared to the standard spiral spring or even the St.Croix spring. They spring back, won't kink, and when done correctly, look like a regular rod. Kind of the best of both worlds!

I wonder what a spring bobber is?
@blakemohr16735 жыл бұрын
I use a spring bobber about half the time when bluegill or crappie fishing. The other half I use a good noodle rod. But, that said, I think it is important for beginner anglers to try a stiffer rod, as mentioned, to experience feeling the bite. It will help them not only get familiar with bite detection while ice fishing, but also the rest of the year while jigging from a dock or boat.

I end up using spring bobbers because my light action rods are broken half way through the season.
@glennkrzeminski75395 жыл бұрын
Last year I got superior bite detection but not as many bites. It's hard to get a good snap-jig with those noodle tips - hard to feel confident about your hook set too! I'll try them again this year but I'm not convinced they are good for anything but dead sticking.

Elk River makes a custom rod that has a built in spring bobber. I have thought about trying that one. Does anyone have any experience with their rods?

Don't get much ice where I live an would like to try it this year if we get enough ice. Im looking for a cheap ice rod to try out an see if I like ice fishing. Thanks for any help 👍

Just go to the local bait shop and get a $20-25 rod and reel combo. Just pick one you like they will prolly have a few in that price range. At least they do over here in Michigan

If you’re putting a $100 ice rod in a bucket, you deserve to have it break. Even a cheap Plano gun case works very well. A $100 ice rod is an investment. Protect it.

I imagine these guys all have cases. Surely he was talking about fishing a tourney, going from hole to hole as fast as they can.

Never used a spring bobber. They always just seemed kinda gimmiky and phony to me. After watching this, I'm gonna have to give them a fair shake.

gary parsons is spot the fuck on. Springs will outfish anything any day of the week. Everyone is trying to sell or push a rod company. Give me a broomstick, put a good spring on it and im good.

So I’m gathering that you can catch fish on anything. Just get out and fish. Lol
@ryanwilson59365 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The only time you’re guaranteed to not catch fish is if you don’t go fishing. Some things can just help you more than others is all.

For me regular graphite ultra light to medium light (depending on lure weight) when the bite is good but when the bite is tough I’ll switch fast to a Thorne bros spring bobber rod

Brosdahl needs to fish a little stained water to have his ego put in check. Pick a style dude, you can't always use your aquaview. * *this comment sponsored by learning how to use your rod to feel fish bite* * I appreciate the ones who say its good to know how to use several styles. Being single minded while fishing is a good way to get frustrated.

Blasphemer!!!!
@joestrummer95073 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, let me think about that: my flasher gives me the depth instantly, marks fish, shows them swimming, shows where my lure is, indicates structure, and is an absolute joy to fish with! Sure, I'll give it up and I'll also give up pizza, steak, cheeseburgers, and my Grandma, then, I'll make an appointment with a neurologist to have my brain checked as doing any of this must mean I've gone bat-shit crazy. lol
