Thanks so much both for this wonderful episode, took me back to the mid 1970/80's, caught some nice barbel and chub here and saw the biggest pike I've ever seen, estimated at over 35lbs and looked to be 4ft long!! an absolute monster!!. I always said the middle Severn is one of the most picturesque stretches of river in the UK with the wonderful sight and sounds of the steam trains as a backdrop-pure heaven, great to have the aerial views too, cheers Peter.

@@AnglingDirectTV morning Phil, used to fish the harbour inn side down to the lovely bridge, that pike was so big it was the only fish that actually gave me chills, I'm not sure I would have wanted it on the other end of my line-just glad not to be a roach or chub in its field of view!!.

It's a lovely stretch of the Severn, Find memories of fishing the middle Severn with my dad when I was younger, maybe late 70's early 80's and we were using meat then aswell!! Great film and thanks for the memories , All the best Phil 👍🎣💪

Well done, some nice looking barbel on the first day & on the second day morning you hit that double well done, I used to fish the Severn back in the eighties for roach I had a couple of small barbel but it looks as though they have grown,

I moved to the area about 5 years ago now, so for four seasons the Severn has been my local river. It's stunning in places, including the stretch I don't recognise in the video, though with the Severn Valley Steam Railway in the background, it must be fairly local. I enjoyed the video and picked up some tips along the way, so thanks for more great content.

Beautiful stretch of river all along there, 6 weeks until I get to fish it again personally since I moved out of the area, have to wait until I go back for Christmas :D

Hi Accyboom, my choice of mainline was 10lb Korda Subline. It has great abrasive resistance which is very important on rivers like the Severn. Hook length is will be either Korum Smokeshield mono or 10lb Drennan Supplex flouro. Regards Phil,

Hi Jon, I didn’t feed any loose feed because quite simply I didn’t feel I needed to. Similar to using cheese paste for chub I sometimes like to keep on the move to find the fish. On other occasions I will try to build a swim by little and often baiting. On this trip I was keen to keep exploring all the nice looking spots. Regards Phil

A bit of story behind my 6000 x-Aero baitrunners having single handles. The 6000 come with a double handle, the 8000 have single handles. My friend had the 8000 I had the 6000 size, we swapped handles as I prefer single handles 😉. Regards Phil,
