Ed, Thanks for making this video. I have only one Angraecum in my collection. I believe it is the sesquipedale. I appreciate the information that you share with us. It helps me with my orchid growing.

The one I got (she’s small only 6 leaves), but her roots were completely rotten in the pot. The medium it was in it really didn’t like. I put her in a hanging basket with spag moss but I may see if I can find another that doesn’t have rotten roots and I’ll do what you said and not disturb them. I live in south Florida but surprisingly this is the second one I’ve ever found. Thanks for the great video!

It's over 5 years since I published this article so thank you for your comment and for taking aa look.. You do right in putting your plants in a hanging basket.but I would have used just plain large bark or large coco-chips which have been cleaned and the tds lowered to an acceptable level.........I have a video on cleaning video chips about a year ago. Thank you Ingrid....Florida is an ideal place to grow Angraecums.......best of luck with your plant and take care, Ed.

Really nice specimen sized plants! Even the dideri looks right at home on that mount. That's the only one we share in our collections. Mine appears to be waking up.

Hi Resquetzal . It will grow quite quickly once it waes up.... but I keep mine growing all year round. Ed.

@@EdsOrchids what do you presently use, if you still have the phalaenopsis bellini/violacea, for fertilizer/plant food and how often as well as the quantities! Thanking you in advance. ❤️
@EdsOrchids2 жыл бұрын
Good evening Nita and thank you for your comment. I feed just once per week with RainMix and I also give them a little bit extra nitrogen which helps Phalaenopsis to acquire bigger and better blooms.........at a ratio of between 200/250 ppm. Thanks again and have a good and enjoyable Sunday Ed.

Thank you Ed, got myself my first angrecum Lady Lisa
@EdsOrchids4 жыл бұрын
Excellent Tantija.... Lady Lisa is a lovely angraecum cross which produces very scented beautiful blooms. Once you have got it growing well never disturb the roots by re-potting.. When the re-potting time arrives leave the plant in its pot and just put it into a larger one. My sesquipedale must have at least three pots in the medium. Take care. Ed.

Amazing plants Ed, very informative and interesting video. I just wondered if you supplement the light in winter in your greenhouse?

Hi fiona. Yes I supplement the light in winter mainly for the multifloral paphs which require 14hours of light per day. Ed.

Great video! My ses I had to repot even though it has a bud! Put into a large wood basket in lava rock. She's got a drip tray about an inch underneath. Been a week and so far she's good! How can I be so lucky!
