I don't take my Bearded Dragon outside anymore. Mainly because of birds of prey like Hawks and Eagles if your Bearded Dragon sees one they freak out and will run and the hawk and eagle will see it and go after him!
@ohokcool2 жыл бұрын
Start with a leash until she doesn't run away from you, she has to learn that you are her portable safety. Helps to sit crosslegged on the floor in front of them, they will hide under your lap if they feel vulnerable and wanna go back inside.

What I did with mine was I just put her inside my jacket with her head popping out, and I’d just go run my errands like that. Once she was used to that I started leaving her less zipped up, and gradually not covering her at all. Another option: Wrap her up in a soft blanket with just her head popping out, and then take her outside. Do that often, then start to take her outside less covered, until she can go outside without being covered. Btw, pay attention to birds and airplanes that she can see, because beardies fear predators in the sky, so she might freak out. It might be a good idea to have her somewhere where there’s something she would consider as cover, so she’d feel like she has a place to run to if a predator comes along.

@@lizerd2054 Same! My lil guy loves the leg cave and hates airplanes hahaha poor baby, too bad he is not that afraid of actual birds 🙄 such a silly lil dude, but he loves to go outside overall I'd say and I haven't had any incidents with birds as I think they realize I'll swat them right out of the air lol

First time I took my bearded dragon out side to get some fresh air, this same thing happened to me. My bearded dragon like puffed up turned into a dragon 😂 he was so cranky! Lol. But after getting him a harness to make him feel secure and safe. He was really good 😁. It just took some time for him to get used to it. But now I take him out like everyday, and he loves it 😍 it’s one of his favorite things to do. Look out side the window and to go outside on his harness. If your a bearded dragon owner, I highly recommend taking your little reptile friend out for a nice walk. With a harness and of corse proper assistance and guidance. 😁

My daughter takes her bearded dragon out all the time. We did it early on so she could get use to it. She definitely always has her eye on the sky but she’s chill. She also is always being handled by one of us. She’s only in her cage at night to sleep and get warm every so often, otherwise she is with us. @ Little wolf has some great tips for training them.

Just becareful birds of prey will swoop down and take your pets. She's probably paranoid about the sky, stressing her out. I typically keep my beardies really close and constantly make sure im watching for birds as it seems to calm them. Guess they feel like we're not protecting them.

My beardie is 6 years old, and he acted the same way when I would take him out. He was always stressed and wouldn't even move. After awhile he did get used to it and loves going outside, and that's also the only place he will go to the bathroom. It's crazy. Be careful though, mine took off and we didn't find him for 5 days! It was so terrifying, save yourself that stress and possible heartbreak. ❤💋

a good way to help them feel safe outside is to let them sit between your legs while your sitting if they feel threatened that way she'll be able to hide against you and feel your presence more. if you drop her in the grass like that in such unfamiliar settings she'll feel scared

Assuming you don't know a lot about bearded dragons, when they get flat, or pancake that means there about to attack and whenever there. Colors get dark they are mad and puffing they're beard also means angry
@fallout2553 жыл бұрын
It's just a fear response. It doesn't always mean they are about to bite. Sometimes they are just bluffing and hoping that you just to away. Especially when you've trained them to know that biting won't get them anywhere.

Just keep a watchful eye and don't worry about a lil bit of plant ingestion as usually will just result in some diarrhea, but do keep away from bugs large enough to be enticing because parasites they carry can be more of a pain to eliminate

He was prolly just feeling vulnerable down there with everything towering above him and wanted to run to some kind of protection (which is sometimes a wall lol) then you chasing after him spooked him for a moment. Don't worry about it, they don't hold grudges and sometimes they get like that because they want to stay and don't want you to pick them up yet, they like exploring sometimes.

You should retitle this as “This video is me stressing my bearded dragon out for KZbin views” you don’t deserve a dragon. Saying “she’s freaked out by the camera” and then moving it closer to her? Why? Please turn your dragon over to a rescue center, she will live a better life without being stressed out over cameras in her face and being put in a strange environment all of the sudden.
