I’ve seen the cardinal fight with multiple blu jays at once, with birds usually bigger than himself, even with squirrels. Don’t be fooled by his size and cuteness. Pound for pound, this is a little bad ass little bully. And so cute.

This was probably during breeding season. Male cardinals aren't usually aggressive but during breeding season they need all of the nutrients they can get when they mate with their partners. Important for egg production.

The Cardinals in our area attack there own reflection in Windows and car mirrors every spring :-) poor things can't ever win the fight against such an evenly matched opponent... Lol!

At least he didn't obsess over himself - just a few quick pecks and he moved on. I have seen them peck at themselves in windows for some time - I think it is this time of year when mating takes places and hormone rule.

Has anyone ecountered the biggesr asshole cardinal? I have for the last 7 days i couldnt figure out whos been takin a shit on my passenger door. Theres no trees above my car. I have an electric blue murano suv. And somehow this bird always poops in same spot .... smh always . Is like he is being a big ahole lol. And when i leave my windows open for like 5 min to cool down car and come back out of house i notice he is inside my car chilling .is like he is messing with me. Well today i finally orchestrated a plot and caught him! I have yet to decide what to do . The thing is that the bird poop can really mess up ur car paint if not cleaned instantly
