The Problem is the FA are like the Glazers, not fit for purpose. It's an old boys club who don't demand sporting excellence, but want an easy life by employing a yes man that doesn't demand anything from them and make their life difficult. They don't want a dynamic, innovative manager that questions the role, or lack of, that they play. The FA just want to employ someone who knows they're lucky to have the job and know they will never get a job like this again, so that they can get on with what their main priority is, that being milking the gravy train. Do you really think once Southgate is gone (He will be taking England to the next World Cup, I guarantee it) that they would employ someone like a Klopp? They will do what Manchester United did, employ yet another clown who doesn't have the ego to take them on at any time and is completely subservient to them. If England want to win anything anytime soon with this squad of players, then it's the FA that needs to be disbanded, not just Southgate leaving. The FA is not fit for purpose because it is not there to demand excellence. It's just another gravy train and they all need calling out on it.

Southgate has done so much since he’s come in but he plays not to lose and relies on individual brilliance from his star players which is so boring to watch. He’s had good draws which has favoured him to get as far as he did in the competitions he has managed in an international era where no one really has an outstanding team (barring France imo). We lost to Italy in the final of the Euros who haven’t qualified for the World Cup for 2 competitions in a row because England scored an early goal and sat back and invited pressure.

That Rory guy was correct. I hope he is reading this, but they just weren't listening to him. Mainoo is only 18, and hasn't got enough experience, no matter how good he is. When it comes to the next level (mentally), Mainoo will struggle against the biggest teams at international level. He can't be the answer, unless he can overcome the kind of pressure that playing for England creates. Kalvin Phillips was the answer after the Euros, but his form has ruled him out. If Phillips can play really well between now and the end of the season, I believe he can be the answer again.
