Made sure to throw them a good tip for the awesome service. When our theater opened up, the staff was super cool about explaining how the whole system works and they reiterated the texting and talking point several times. But if you are in a group, or loud enough that we can hear you at the front desk, we kick you out. Every time we kick people out, they have a similar reaction, or leave us bad reviews. This one time, after being asked to leave the dining area, the guest walked up to the front desk and asked for assistance. My coworker went over with him to the dining area, and he points at his pile of beer cans and says: "Clean that up for me" When my coworker refused, he went off on how we're suppose to be making him feel hospitable. I love Alamo Drafthouse for this. I have been to movies at other locations in the past and irritated by people chatting or using their phones while the movie is playing. MORE theaters need to be like you. Thank you!!!

Didn't know you can text in theaters? As if anyone needs to be distracted, after paying $13.00-$15.00 for their ticket, by your 15V phone? Amazing that ANYONE over the age of three does not understand how rude it is to use one's phones in cinemas, theaters, church, funeral parlors, libraries. Hint: it is. Go outside if you can't manage your time. Your lack of time management and your addictions to your phones are no one else's problem but your own. It is a phone, not an electronic tracking device. Positive that life will be okay without your checking your phone constantly. Honest.

I am now 40 but a few years back while seeing Avengers there was a person on the phone talking in a normal voice. She was older than me I believe....Sometimes the the idiots are way to old not to know better (not that it matters) and not just the teens that are going through the phase where the world revolves around of them

The theater near my home plays two requests for viewers to NOT talk or text before each movie. Even with that, I've seen the management eject people for doing both. It's a shame you have to remind people NOT to be rude.

Bravo to Alamo drafthouse. More places need to be like this. I used to work in a movie theatre and I would regularly kick people out for being on their phone or being too loud. Granted this was way back when and in a different country, but I have noticed that theaters in the US don't really seem to care, either not enough staff to walk the halls or actually just don't care. I have stopped going to theatres because of all the ignorant people that pull out their phones or decide to have conversations through the whole movie. It is a shame because I really love watching movies on the big screen.

Now that the Brooklyn, NY, location has opened and having watched 3 movies there, all 3 experiences were great. The waiters walking around did not bother my watching experience. Great job at training them to move about theater and still not be a distraction. All the movies I planned to watch at Regal or AMC, if Alamo has them, I will try best to watch them at Alamo. Big fan of DC, so I can't wait to enjoy Wonder Woman and Justice League at Alamo, free of the texters. I might even watch some special screenings. I love how the other theaters have their pathetic "please be quite and courteous to others" PSA. Its just paper tiger. Like the jerks won't text just because you ask nicely. Thank you for being a company that has principle, even at the risk of losing future business. Lastly, having being to Alamo, this lady texter is completely lying through her teeth. The employees manning the box office at Brooklyn location always finish the ticket sale with a texting/talking warning. Before each movie starts, the same warning PSA is played in theater. She also flat out lies that she needed her phone to find her seat. I am near-sighted and wear glasses. Today at Doctor Strange, with the movie on and lights dimmed, I could clearly see my seat number with no need of extra lighting.

Thank you! Alamo Drafthouse! Thank you for understanding that people go to the movie theatre to enjoy a movie in peace, not to hear people talk or see little lights of people who can’t live without their phones!, yes you are in the USA but you’re not at your haus to be using your phone and if it was “too dark to find your seat” then get there early when the lights are still on, again Thank you Alamo Drafthouse one of the best theatres out there

if you have a phone call, step outside. it's not a hard concept, just common courtesy. same with screaming and crying children. You go to the movies to enjoy a MOVIE, just as most other people in the auditorium do. If you can't handle not being on your phone for an hour and a half or two, then you shouldn't go to the movies or bring your cell phone. If anything, just turn the damn thing off. pretty simple concept lol
@pcvetic10 жыл бұрын
I don't get the anger of those that disagree...You don't have to go to this theater. If you want to text go to a normal theater and text away...most don't want to leave report you & miss the movie even if they are annoyed. Problem solved. 99% if the people that are mad are not of age to enter this theater and if they are are too dense to grab the concept that people go here to ENJOY the movie without distractions. Is society that addicted to cell phones. Now doubt if you put it on silent and left the theater to make a call that they will care if it is not excessive.But an emergency means you probably need to leave the movie and take care of your business otherwise it can't be that much of an emergency.
