HOW TO SAVE STARFIELD (well, I have 250hrs of gameplay so hear me out - ONLINE + END-GAME): - (END-GAME) in short game does not have END-GAME gameplay (we need lvl 100+ planets, darkholes with strong gravity only for superior ships, advanced ship builder/parts, more hard/horror encounters, aliens:) - please add some crazy hard challanges + game is too easy on "very hard"; - (ONLINE GAMEPLAY) - add a Quest after the Main Quest to unlock travel to planets where the ONLINE gameplay is possible (wormholes to another universes) - ONLINE space ship fight (when you die your ship needs 5k repair cost), land on planet to meet another players... - (CRAFTING ECONOMY) the whole automated crafting does not have much sense... it is broken and it needs to be revamped - what should I do with 10000 units of an crafted item? - so I propose to have a requirement for some daily item production to support ship maitanance, outpost maitanance :) - (SHIP BUILDER) - more parts and even more customization would be welcome - it is one of the best game parts - it is worth to still improve it, the question is where out ships are stored?... we need on planet hangar/gallery; - (SKILLS) - more shills would be welcome especially for 100+ lvl; - (CREW-MEMBERS) more epic crew members like more robots; - (SPACE IMMERSION) - more on planet effects are needed (storms, winds, rain), we need black-holes (only best ships could traver there to sustain radiation/gravity), magnetars, neuron stards, wormholes etc

This is what happens when a development cycle is to long you end up being commited to out of date ideas and tech so when you release you are way behind the curve. @statixfear Жыл бұрын
@@Marcorix2010 Pretty much a similar trajectory to what happened with Star Citizen. Mid-development, they had to change game engines, which likely also became a self inflicted delay of their own doing... not that the game has any hope of becoming an actual full release anytime soon anyway. The only difference is that at least Star Citizen is still being touted as an alpha product right now, whereas Starfield is supposed to be a "full release", with the absurd price tag, to boot. It almost feels like Bethesda anticipated the final product to somewhat be polarizing, hence why Xbox pre-empted any mediocre reception by releasing it in Game Pass on day one.

Worst part is that they de-innovated, the games has pretty much all the same types of mechanics as previous bethesda games done worse. In Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and the Elder Scrolls games, an incredibly important part of the gameplay was 'transitory exploration'. You would have a place on the map that you want to go to, either for a quest objective or just because you wanna see what's there, and on your way there you would pass by or through other interesting locations. You'd either divert your journey to go check them out or make a note to come back to check it out later. I honestly doubt such an experience is even possible in Starfield.

Looking back on Skyrim, the map really wasn't that big. Locations were fairly close together, and you could see across most of the map from high ridges or mountain tops. I do really like Starfield, but the map feels smaller and less connected despite its scale.

This! I had this feeling about Starfield, trying to think about what was the best part for me about the Elder Scrolls games and fallout, and thanks to your comment, I remember now! You can explore planets but it takes SO MUCH time to get anywhere. The game doesn't tell you that you can use the scanner on unknown points to tell you what category of location it is. My biggest overall gripe with Starfield is the lack of dynamic exploration. It's essentially nonexistent. One of the truly wondrous parts about The Elder Scrolls or Fallout games is the simple fact that you can look to the horizon, see something interesting, and just _go_ there. And I'd bet most of us would end up getting completely sidetracked in our journey. We'd end up wandering around from interesting thing to interesting thing. Stumbling on random places, peoples, or events. Starfield has basically none of that. There is no journey. No wandering. No getting lost and exploring. The "random" events aren't even surprises because there's a very specific and obvious way to trigger them. Try to remember how awesome it was to just travel around in Red Dead Redemption 2. There were tons of interesting little scenes of everyday life (sometimes horrific as it was) that made the world feel alive. Everything was fluid so you didn't have to worry about loading screens breaking the immersion. You spent so much time searching out these little extras that before you knew it, you were basically clear across the map from where you actually wanted to be and it was hours later than you realized. That's what I had expected from Starfield. I mean, it's a Bethesda game... right? It's basically the cornerstone of their RPGs... right? Apparently not. That formula of awe-inspiring world exploration? Completely absent. And Todd Howard's excuse of "but space is boring, lol"? Get fucking bent. You didn't develop a boring space simulator, you developed Skyrim in space. And failed.

Honestly, when seeing the initial reviews and impressions this was THE reason why I didn't even try this game. I was a big fan of the TES series and have monumental gaming memories from these games. All of them were due to the adventure combined with the stunning music. The sense of awe when seeing huge flying monstrosities in the distance for the first time while the magical Caprice is playing; killing my first dragon and then feeling like I drained the whole world of life while standing besides the Skeleton in the middle of the night with Standing Stones pulling my heartstrings...the quests were always mediocre at best, the NPC behavior wonky, the main story so boring I never finished it in a single game. But this sense of adventure and finding something interesting and unique around the next corner - no other game offered this.

I'd point out that you can be the head honcho of any faction, but there's no point since you'll always be relegated to errand boy (which is a Bethesda writing problem in general), on TOP of being the leader of literally every faction in one playthrough. It really takes the gravity of such a position away. Like almost all RPGs, Bethesda games are at their best if you just head-canon what you want and completely ignore the writing (not including New Vegas). I love interacting with individual characters, and the environments are top notch, but damn if the quest writing isn't complete dogshit.

They've been dropping entire alt universe quest lines with big rewards, galaxy spanning quests to grow alien eggs, even years ago I distinctly recall having some NPC companion quests with genuine consequence for their story depending on your decisionmaking. And NMS keeps adding more. So is it an RPG like starfield? No. But it definitely has stuff to do now, and I'm not anywhere near caught up to modern NMS either. Besides that, I've heard a LOT of critique about starfield's quest design and story as well. Mainly that it's just walking between places again and again, which is at best the same as no man's sky, but no man's sky has better traversal with the ability to land, to have huge freighters, bases, land, sea, and air vehicles, etc. and full multiplayer, online co-op missions, etc.

@@danjjjatest why so personal and hurt, son? I own a pc with a 4070 super and 4tb nvme and 128gb ram so trust me when i say im probably a bigger gamer than you are for investing probably quite alot more money in my pc than you did. Now, yours might be better and more expensive but, noone is being a teen here and says you dont have one, like you were a teen for thinking im only a PS guy... Now that i too have thrown some trash back at you, lets get back to the topic with reasoning and without being hurt by the opinion of someone else... NMS doesnt sell itself as an RPG so saying it doesnt even have a skill tree is like saying that a horse doesnt have a seat so you cant ride it. Noone sold that as a car, you bought it as a horse. Let me break you with the next logical thing; lets say we both start our PC's and i boot NMS up while you boot Starfield up and we both start to play. After lets say 4 hours, i would have played the game for about 3 hours and 30 minutes while losing 30 mins on loading screens. You on the other hand, have probably only played 2 hours and looked he other 2 hrs at a loading screen. You see, ive done more in NMS by the time you did. Dont get me wrong, my pc's loading screens take about 5 so its so fast it shouldnt bother me but it does bother me, for a game that came out in 2024 and where theyve had an older game called Skyrim from a decade ago that you can do more with than with Starfield. And lets say you dont start any loading screens, and we both play for an hour. In that time, ive walked into my ship, ive flown it in the air and space, mined some minerals in space and landed back on a different planet WITHOUT any loading screens. Your gameplay would look like this; open the map to fast travel to your ship, watch your character get in his seat with a mini dynamic loading screen, then your ship starts to take off in a dynamic loading screen, then your screen goes to a loading screen, then you land with a dynamic loading screen, you get off your ship with a loading screen. Cant make a sentence about Starfield's gameplay without mentioning a loading screen.... By that time, ive probably build a small settlement in NMS while you just got out of your ship (exaggerating to make my point). Also, thank you for pointing out the miserable launch of NMS so i can compare the companies too; NMS was an indie studio with maybe 50 ppl max working on NMS before its release. Its their first 'big title' if you dont count their other 3$ dollar trash games. BGS is a bilion dolar company with years of experience AND already a game series they had that defined the sandbox and RPG genres called the Elder Scrolls. How can you create a game thats not half the game youve created a decade ago? I hope you wont bark at anyone anymore for having a different opinion but rather sit with that person to reason and learn why he has a different opinion. Like, my opinon is that i wish you lots of fun watching loading screens and your opinion was, as you tried to state in your comment, is for me to enjoy my PS (which i probably boot up only twice a year for games like Forbidden Horizon and God of War series while also playing those games on my pc but with mods but cant wait for them to release on the pc. I remember in an interview after Oblivion Todd Howard said something that always stuck with me. He said that they (Bethesda Game Studios) created games that they wanted to play, and they hoped others would like them as well. I believe it's safe to say they've entirely gotten away from this formula. Todd Howard has become Peter Molyneux, making huge, grandiose promises and completely underdelivering. It's a shame because BGS has always been my favorite game studio. I've always looked forward for whatever they're doing next. After Skyrim I was stoked about Fallout 4. And although it's wasn't perfect, I loved Fallout 4. And then I was somewhat excited, but skeptical about Fallout 76, and as we know it fell flat. But I always knew they were developing a space game next, and I had high expectations. While I agree with Joe that it's not a, "bad," game, I just don't expect mediocrity from BGS. But let's face it, that's all they've given us for almost a decade now. It's sad to me that for the first time ever, I'm not super excited about the, "next game," because the next one is the one we've all waited for for a long time. The Creation Engine is so dated, its just hard to deal with after playing games like the Witcher or Red Dead Redemption 2. The zoomed in camera where the the NPC's stare straight at you the whole time has to go. I found it ironic that Joe was talking about the NPC's facing the wrong direction, because my complaint has been that they stare right at you during the entire conversation. That's not how people talk. They move around, they look down, they look to the side, etc., and they also often do things while they're talking to you. The dialogue seems so overly robotic. I am just not confident that BGS can make a 180 from all of this for TES VI. I think it will, "feel," exactly like Starfield in regards to it's mechanics and that's just sad.
@SUPERMA5TER Жыл бұрын
Great take. I no longer hold any hype for TES VI after watching Fallout 76 and Starfield flop. It's also been confirmed VI will have microtransactions (for cosmetics), which is a huge immersion-breaker for me in an RPG game. I want to collect in an RPG, not trade in my real world dollars to buy things. People are saying Starfield would have been great 10-15 years ago but we had Fallout 3 & 4, Oblivion, and Skyrim during that time. Try more like 20-25 years ago...

@@F1jonesI see you sitting here commenting on every single comment and I find it laughable. You are arguing for a game that is going to die out. You may have had a good time playing the game but the masses didn’t. Genuinely this game felt like something that could have been released between 2015-2019. As someone that’s played almost 100 hours into the game and finished it into New game+ it lacks character. It is fun to fly around and explore and build your ship, but after that there isn’t a terrible amount of content, not to mention how underwhelming the “Abilities” are. The skill tree is an utter mess, locking basic mechanics like sliding behind multiple level walls. I genuinely think this game lacked where so many other franchises have succeeded. They are a giant company, not a indie start up. So when a game comes out and is incredibly underwhelming compared to how it was hyped is disappointing. And people are allowed to have that opinion. But if you used the energy you’ve exerted commenting on everyone’s comments, maybe you’d understand that your opinion doesn’t rival anyone else’s. Because everyone’s opinion is valid.
@barbzforever571210 ай бұрын
@@F1jonesalso, new game plus completely destroys everything that the game has going. Destroying all of the original lore that you learn, all your weapons you work to get and find, relationships with companions who will no longer be interesting, and leaving you with a ship that is mediocre and with underwhelming powers. Everything that people liked about Bethesda is destroyed by new game+ The lore, the companions, the want to collect things or sell stuff. Even in the big side quests they make no difference in game. And one of the biggest side missions, which is when you join the crimson fleet or side with Sysdef, does nothing but break your game if you side with the crimson fleet. Almost every planet with exploration into a building is filled with crimson fleet which will no longer attack you. Especially just letting you walk through the whole level without having to bat an eye. This mission is probably most comparable to the Skyrim faction quest line between The Empire and Ulfric storm cloak. But at least in Skyrim cities and major villages would have different guards take over conquered cities. In Starfield the quest line just dies out, and all your left with is bounty missions. The point is, if they can’t produce content better than what was made 12 years ago, what is the point of playing?

But that's not nearly as laughable as someone who spent 100+ on the game, including new game+, but who now wants to whine about how it doesn't meet the standards you set? And sorry, I can't think of too many games that are dated but which released all the way back in ancient times like 2019. Actually, opinions are worthless if they can't be backed up and/or are illogical. I.e., complaining that it's not as good as two other candidates for either worst game of the year (Andromeda) or one of the most forgettable space "RPGs" in recent years and which people negatively compared to Bethesda games on release (Outer Worlds) isn't a good argument. Do you think it is? Do you think those games are better? Because that's the argument being made by the OP, not all the features you're not happy with. Try to keep up. Now you can go yell at the clouds some more about the game you burned four entire days of your life playing all the way through but which sucked so much it's like playing a game from 2012 (but I thought it was 2015-2019? Which is it?) I'm not sure that's something I'd want to admit, frankly. Pretty hilarious.

@@F1jones again, you argued none of my points. You made fun of me and that’s about it. I played the game through to see if at some point the game would revive itself and uphold the company’s standards. Bethesda is a huge gaming studio, and has had absolute gems years ago. Of course I’m gonna complain when the game is half as interesting as something that was produced 5-10 years ago. You are CLEARLY the only one NOT having a conversation since you think your opinion rules over all. You are condescending and wrong. And you wrote me a book because you disagree😊 I appreciate the two brain cells in your head working so hard to produce more than one coherent sentence. One thing that really bugged me about exploration was that the game never seems to account for the difference between colonized spaces and uncolonized spaces. It seems no matter where you land on a planet or what the lore is, there's always some kind of human made structure within viewing distance. This is even true near those temples that no one is supposed to have ever laid eyes on before Constellation. Also, no matter where you explore, Bethesda seems to have this odd habit of strewing dead bodies all over the place for no apparent reason, like every planet is some kind of super dangerous frontier where people can't even be bothered to bring back their dead for a proper burial. This is something mods could probably fix easily.

But still almost everything was the same, the only thing which changed was which major faction got hostile and the story told when ascending in Unity. The worst part imho are the 1:1 reused space stations etc in various locations.. Really? From the guys who made Skyrim, which did randomize every small dungeon? Still it was fun, especially the first playthrough. But the replay potential is now for me completely gone, because at this point I already did erverything i could. Time I played: 260.4h. Bethesda is a huge AAA studio with loads of money and they put out this geriatric piece of shit. With all the money they've earned from re-releasing Skyrim over and over and over and over again for 12 years they should have been able to afford making a new engine, not reusing the same engine they used for Morrowind 20 years ago. I remember being awed by Daggerfall and Morrowind, even Oblivion and F3... this just makes me feel angry. Starfield would maybe have been an achievement for a AA studio and 3-4 years of development. Sometimes it gets bugged and whatever you do, it won't progress. After I realized that, I made a save every time before entering a temple and I had to use it for reloading at least 5 times out of the 24. Not only it is boring as fuck even for the third time, but also buggy so you probably have to do it more than 24 times during a playthrough... which is simply ridiculous. As is the one lone starborn enemy always spawning at the same place, with the same timing, after you teleport out of the temple. It would make much more sense if the Starborn were already there before you find the temple, protecting it and trying to prevent you from entering, knowing that you have all the artifacts it is a pretty easy assumption that sooner or later you'll show up lol. If every temple was made to be found at the end of a labyrinth with enemies and different puzzles, I wouldn't even mind to play that same fucking light-catching minigame 24 times as it still would feel like a reward. Now it's just a mundane task that you are required to repeat again and again like some trucker.

They are good at the visual world design, but even that feels less atmospheric in recent games. If I compare Starfield and Outer Worlds, and gets asked what ment more.. Outer Worlds win every time..
