I would be willing to bet a very high amount that the Konami employees could not give less of a shit about what they're making. This is their job that they applied for, and they would 100% not quit over the fact that their boss wants them to make a game that many players would not approve of. I get it, Konami's made a really stupid decision in terms of public opinion by making this game. But people need to get their facts straight and remember that Konami is a business, not some force of evil. Same with EA. Yeah, the employees might not like what they're working on, but that's life.

Not soul destroying, just boring. Like most work, trust me. And financially, this game isn't a dud. It's trending on Steam with mostly positive reviews and because of the fairly low costs this game probably has (I don't know this, but there's a lot of reused assets so we can assume this) they're going to be making a profit. Guess who likes profits? Everyone working at Konami. It means potential raises, bonuses, higher stock prices etc. I doubt many people at Konami enjoyed making Survive, but what they will enjoy is the fact that it is indeed selling well. Not incredibly well, but it certainly hasn't bombed like many people hoped it would.

Kojima has been wanting to move on from Metal Gear for a long time now. MGS on PS1 was actually intended to be the last MG game. He didn't expect it to achieve the success it did and for it to become a huge series. He's probably happy to be moving on to new, original projects and knows that MGSV is going to be considered the final game by all the fans. Hell, Big Bosses speech during The Truth mission was essentially Kojima speaking directly to the players and thanking them for all of their support, and that he was now going to move on and do better things.

This game is the epitome of laziness. They take an established engine, use an established franchise, they pretty much use an established map and then they slap the two more tired genres in existence. Konami could have launched a fucking match-3 mobile game and it would have been _less_ lazy than this bullshit. And then they have the gall to add microtransactions. Some of which are insulting. Also, did you know that in certain regions this game is actually _more expensive_ than full-price AAA new releases? Yes, in my country this thing is sitting at around _82 USD._ Can you believe that shit? And then it's somehow nothing but positive reviews on Steam. The state of things is absolutely sad.
