I have this gun in the 1.4 I use it mainly for spraying metallic base coats. Been using it for almost a year and have had zero issues with it. Would definitely recommend this for the diy guys. Good quality and sprays very well.

Bought this exact setup as a starter gun, one gun for all and it’s impressive! Beats anything I could have bought locally, I’ve got it in 1.3mm and 1.7mm and it sprays everything with great coverage and great results, not show quality by any means but I think that’s more so my technique and I need more practice. Going to use it to do a repair on a 2017 ram in blue and see how it fairs up to the job. I love the cheater valve, it’s easy to adjust and is very rigid, I would highly recommend this setup for anyone who wants a DIY all purpose gun, just get the right fluid tips and clean it out good for each stage!

Hi mate, HPS after some research refers to the HPS system can work at various pressures and so it is therefore perfectly adaptable to different types of paint products or pressures. HPS system is a new highly efficient atomisation action developed by A.N.I. of Italy.

The Gunman I’ve used it on clear, base, single stage, and primer. Love it!! I have to reduce the primer a bit, but I’ve sprayed high build primer without thinning successfully with the F160. I have bought the FLG5 for my clear, but this F160 and R150 will spray my base and single stage stuff. My SLG kit sprays my primer. All of them (except SLG kit) from spraygunsdirect.

I bought the ani 150 mini gun after watching your review, I've got a devilbiss sri hd and an iwata w300, the ani gun is bloody fantastic for nitro lacquer clear coats, i think it sprays better than the devilbiss and that's now doing metallic duties on guitars

Im just sitting right now waiting for my water based base coat to dry and having a cup of coffee before i head out to put clear on half of the car. Wish me luck! Ill try 2,5 to 3 bar with the clear and try to get it smooth. I hope it goes well. At first when i tried the gun I had it at 1.8 bar and it went on really horribly. I read the manual after and saw my error with the pressure. Luckily that was only in the doorjam where i repaired some rust.

I think I might buy the ANI F160 thanks to this review. I have been hard in on the Devilbiss FLG5 but given what you say about it's small fan I think this might be the better choice. I have a compressor setup that can do 500 lpm so no problems running it.

Hi Gunman, general question: why do you keep the distance to the panel so low? E.g. Sata recomends ~20cm for their RP guns, i.e. a hand span away. You seem to be spraying a lot closer, looks to me like a fist away.
@mitchellferre16526 жыл бұрын
Tunicht Gut I started spraying closer to panel with tighter overlap and finishes have improved. It does seem to force me to move a bit faster but I got used to it and prefer this for the end result. I don't use HVLP guns anymore but they benefit even more from this. Cheers !

Hi Dean, one thing I may have forgotten to mention is that these guns require quite a lot of pressure to operate well so in your case I would recommend having a look at the DeVilbiss FLG5 1.4 and yes, I'd still definitely recommend SprayGunsDirect.

@@DeanHone ok so that's a tiny thing, I would either get a larger compressor or get a mini gun, I have an ANi R160 mini in 1.2 and it's a little beast of a gun and requires less air than any full size gun. But I must say I just checked the conversion and it's enough to power this gun without dips www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/index.php/a-n-i-r160-q-mini-midi-gravity-spraygun.html#sthash.oZR727b8.dpbs you just cross reference the CFM to LPM after doing the conversion. 3.5 CFM = 100 LPM and your compressor is 130 LPM so it will run fine. I'd get it in 1.2

If you're using a gauge at the bottom of the gun you should always have the gun set to full air, which for this gun is all the way to the left. And then set pressure from the gauge.
