For the people who grew up with this series, Naruto's interactions with his parents always hit differently. I cry every time. Naruto isn't an anime I'd rewatch in full, but I'm glad it was a major part of my late childhood and teenage years. I still hold the characters and story close to my heart.

This hits even worse when you learn the authors father passed away prior to the War Arc. He brought Minato back because he felt his own father was alongside him for the completion of the series. Absolutely heartbreaking. And as a kid who never got to know his mom due to terminal cancer, Naruto meeting Kushina will kill me every time - and I’ll forever understand why Kishimoto wanted to immortalize his father in his series.

I get what you’re saying but I wouldn’t say it’s JUST sad. At high enough levels all emotions tend to feel similar. I know niggas who cry when they’re sad, happy, angry, or broke. It’s cathartic.

I cried too. I cried after rewatching Jiriya die too. Some words translate different from Japanese to English when they dub it vs sub it. So watching Jiriya and Nagato fight the English vs after already understanding their relationship made it that much harder to see.

I lost it when Both Minato and Kushina sacrificed their life for Naruto and the hidden leaf village. As an anime, Naruto is undoubtedly the best. As Naruto was growing up, we grew up with him. Many moments in Naruto both sad and good, where we have cried like hell. Such a masterpiece.
