This makes me oddly sad, a good sad. A soft reminder of childhood. Thinking back to the 2000s, things were easier, school was fun, there were so many things to do and not enough time, it felt like possibilities were endless. A piece of my heart will always belong to the Animal Crossing games. They've brought me so much joy over the years. Who would have thought that clicking on this video would have sent me into reminiscence. As much as I want to avoid the past, it's good to find that not everything was bad. That there are good times in difficult times.

My dad picked up this game for me when it first came out. I was a smol child at age 4-5. Anyway, I fell completely head over heals for this game. Unfortunately, I lost the cartridge after about a year of owning it. I was sad when I couldn't find it, but eventually moved on to a new game. Fast forward to Christmas of 2020, I was sat unwrapping gifts my parents got me, and eventually I got to the one that made the shittiest year worth living through. I almost cried as I saw a light blue DS lite and an array of different games. One being Animal Crossing: Wild World. It honestly felt as if I was receiving the game for the first time again, but this time I knew how much joy that would come from it

I was ten when I first got Animal Crossing Wild World and I was so excited. I opened my gift on Christmas and I jumped around the living room in excitement. I played it all Christmas day and about a year later I paid of my house in full. And that same day, Freckles moved out. I cried for so long because Freckles was my first villager and my favourite. she still is. I was crushed and it still makes me sad. But now I have Animal Crossing New Horizons and I used a Nook Miles ticket to get some resources. Not villager hunting or anything. And guess who I found, Freckles! I was so happy and I immediately told her to move to my island. she moved in today. I was so happy to see my childhood best friend again. Love you Freckles ❤

I'm a little younger, so I didn't grow up with Wild World; my older brother got me City Folk and all the games onward though when I was six. I could hardly even read yet, but I made best friends with Spork and Peaches. He got me into this habit of making Tom Nook chase me in circles around the selling stuff at the store, and I remember feeling so smart when I discovered KK Slider all by myself and showed him. I remember getting yelled at by Resetti a lot and not knowing why because I couldn't understand the directions. I remember freaking out because the first character I met in my town, Miranda, had my middle name. Which the same brother himself recommended to mom back when he was like 12 and I was on my way to existence. I can't say I miss my childhood. Hell, I rarely even feel nostalgia because of how bad it was. I was born with a disability and a few other health issues that got me put into an abusive Special Ed class from the age of four. They would always isolate me from most of my peers, and the only kids I could talk to were other disabled ones who bullied me. They didn't give us as many opportunities or as good an education or just... any more than half the love "normal" kids got from their teachers. I was cut off from the entire world around me, and I hated it because I was always curious and a hard-worker, eager to learn and just as smart as any other kid. I told my parents, but they didn't care and believed my teachers were doing a good job by treating me like crap, like we didn't matter as much. The teachers just taught me how to mask my disability, and they got praise for it from my own parents because to them, it meant I was "improving." I felt like I couldn't be myself. I felt underestimated, unwanted, and hated. And since I was trapped in that ableist bubble of a life, I turned to video games. To actually make me feel alive and test my brain, yknow? I never got rid of my games and I took good care of all my systems, so I still have them now. Nothing to miss. One of my favorites was Animal Crossing, especially City Folk; the colors were bright, the music was great and it reminded me of my brother. Who by the time I was seven was all grown-up and moved out the house, which left me here to deal with our parents and worse, my school, all by myself. I'm 18 now, and I have no desire to go back. Adulthood is all I have now to make myself a life worth living and take back control from all the ableist pieces of shit who used to be the boss of me. I remember having to play animal crossing for hours in elementary school just to fend off suicidal thoughts by the time I was eight, nine, ten... until New Leaf came around and I switched to that one. Eleven, twelve, thirteen... over and over again, planning to kill myself only to start sinking into a village where people actually accepted me as I was and I could go on little down-to-earth adventures. Making my villagers into my own separate characters with their own personalities in my head. And wanting to keep having those experiences kept me alive. I can't thank my brother enough for getting me into this series. I think he saved my life by doing that.

I miss old animal crossing so much. The memories of beings a carefree kid. The gameplay and soundtrack was so much better. The characters had personality. Not to mention it was an open world game. Designing your town was a choice and you didn’t have to do anything to progress further in the game besides paying ur mortgage. I miss the freedom of the old games and how it was stress free, unlike other games. The characters all had personality and such interesting dialogue. Now sadly it’s lost so much of its original charm and appeal. The stress free game I remember and grew to love isn’t the same :(

Those last three hourly themes there at the end are just...perfection. They captured the sense of the end of the day so well. Winding down and relaxing. A growing sense of blissful solitude as everyone is going home and going to bed. Reflecting on the events of the day with a newfound sentimentality about it all. They captured that perfectly in 10pm/11pm/12am.

this sound track brings me back to a summer trip my parents took my sister and i to. we went to Ouray CO, a smaller town with a natural hot spring and lots of foliage and rain. my sister and i would play wild world whenever we went back to our travel trailer after swimming or playing in the woods or getting ice cream in town. years later, when new leaf came out, I modeled my town's name after Ouray. What was ours was anyones--Ourany. I wish I could go back to the days where I wasn't a worrisome twenty year old, back to the hot springs of Ouray, and back to the little kid who got excited to wake up to wander around the town of Ourany through her nintendo.

The only negative thing I have to say about Wild World is the lack of actual choices where you can see how your character is going to look. Using a guide to answer the questions to get the look you want is not optimal and the seven tasks Tom Nook gives you in the beginning are tideous. Otherwise, it is my personal favorite in the franchise. Lots of memories on this one. It is the last game I feel nostalgia towards, sitting with one of my nearest friends in his parents kitchen, planting our fruits, sharing items and visiting each other's town. The music, the vibe, the lack of crafting tasks of New Horizon.. just running around and doing what you pleased and see new stuff pop up all over your town. It was my zen game and I don't think any other Animal Crossing game will ever give me the same feeling again.

I meet acww with a different way, a couple of years ago, around the end of 2019, I saw my friend playing kirby's adventure on his phone, on these days I didn't know nothing about animal crossing nor nintendo since nintendo doesn't sell its products on Turkey, I was curious about the game that he plays, it really looked fun, I give it a shot and I absuletely loved the kirby series, thats how I know what nintendo is I played every kirby game on between gameboy to ds on my crappy old phone, when I ran out of kirby games, I searched about other nintendo ex's thats as cute as kirby games, after a bit of searching later, I found a game called animal crossing which contains lots of cute animals in a nice little town, when I first boot up the game, its main theme totaly sucked me into the game, I wouldn't have lied if I say I stayed in the title screen about 15 minutes 😅 Emulators and pirated games were the most important things to get me into nintendo, I know its not right to pirate but if those weren't exist, I wouldn't have those wonderful childhood memories, if only I could get the actual console and cartridges, it would be so awesome Anyway, also thank you so much to the uploader of this video and those who readed my story so far, those hourly musics really took me to the good old days ❤️

i unfortunately never got to play Wild World, and i don't know if i can seeing as how the game is probably really expensive on cart and my emulator runs it really poorly (so laggy i can barely play it... or listen to it). but maybe one day, i can gets my hands on it and live in the town. one day...
