I remember a umber of years ago when one landed in my backyard and it couldn't get out, like hell we where going to take it through the house, so we had to call the RSPCA to take it away.

Loved the black throat. Looked healthy and happy. Monitors are beautiful lizards and some of the smartest especially the komodo dragon (yes im pretty sure i spelled it wrong.) They can learn with the same spot and click sounds to do alot of things dogs can do. Although thats not advice to go get one they have over 50 virulent bacteria in their mouth that makes them classified poisonous.

The only two venomous lizards are Mexican Beaded Lizards, and Gila Monsters. The recent (old) studies of other lizards being "venomous" is inaccurate. The correct terminology of venom is not being used. Please further your readings by the real experts in this field. Toxic is not same as venom!

I'm sure you've heard of how Komodo Dragons (the largest extant species of lizard, and a type of monitor) kill their prey with deadly bacteria in their saliva? Turns out that's not the whole truth. Many snakes used to have venom and have actually evolved to LOSE their venom because it was no longer needed, but venom is and was more common than previously believed
