Some people just dont get it. They say illogical stuff like 'You think XYZ hollywood movie having violence and sex is cool, but you hate Animal'. People need to realize that its not about Hollywood vs Bollywood. Animal had totally illogical scenes bound by a very weak script. Director added unnecessary sex and violence to satisfy his fans. When Ranvijay started showing conduct disorders at an early age, why didn't his father take him to a psychiatrist? The boy needed psychological evaluation and treatment at a very early age. Had it been a film about that, the movie would be easily one of the most inspiring. Think about white collar or think about "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"- she doesn't know she is the daughter of a gangster but shows violent conduct from an early age. She is sent of to several treatments. Until she learns to channel her anger at the right time to the right people. Help and treatment for those children are the prime solution. It could have been so much better if mr Sandeep Vanga Reddy had been a little more educated, a little more aware of such matters. Proving my point ever since I started disapproving Kabir Singh, that he doesn't understand human psychological development. He treats violence with violence and glorifies casually smacking one another. If he had a slightest sense of good education of children and people he would know that what Ranvijay really needed at an early age, was a doctor. So simple. It could've been so inspiring!!!! Sanjay Dutt was admitted to a ward in Shabd. But Sandeep Vanga Reddy doesn't even know such simple actions can be taken. He thinks Kabir Singh is sane and all this behavior is normal. He is absolutely clueless and sort of illiterate.

Thank you for this review. I was so shocked after watching this violent movie Putting aside the incredible acting of all characters especially Ranbir. I felt the same that Bobby Deol deserved a lot more screen time than they gave him. There was a lot of Ranbir and it was getting exhausting. Not just that, the senseless violence was so disturbing, it took me days to recover from the movie. I felt the same way towards the second half as in what the F is going on here??? I felt the worst for his cousins he went and brought from Punjab who gave up their families to help this idiot seek revenge for his dad (their uncle) who never cared for these family members. At the end I felt Ranbir's character was just a selfish spoilt brat, who never grew up!!

Because it's "against our culture " n sh!t like that... Even Tamil cinema followed the band wagon...but thankfully they did focus on good stories simultaneously! It's incredibly cringe when I watched it even as a college kid.. Today they repeat that same garbage in HD and better special effects! Bullywood can't possibly go any lower in quality so they now turn to toxic stories from South with a bigger outreach in central and north India!! God save our society from getting bankrupt in the brain dept!

I agree with everything you said in the video the first half was interesting and then it falls off in the second half but the thing that saved this movie for me was the climax. The runway fight scene was actually good and the ending diwali sequence was the best part and the post credit scene was probably the best post credit scene in any indian film. Overall it was just a good movie.

I like to believe that the director is not trying to glorify any of this. He is trying ot show you what ahppens when you unleash your inner animal and go down a downward spiral of bloodshed and violence. His father is dying of something he cannot fight, his wife and kids left him, his sisters don't trust him, and there's a psychopath trying to hunt down his family and him. He's truly left alone. He is not a noble person, hence the title of the movie. In Kabir Singh, Vanga showed how Kabir was mentally unstable and how that affected his later life because those issues were never resolved.

It contradicts when Vanga opens his mouth. Art, literature can be interpreted in different ways, if Vanga didn’t come out during Kabir Singh and give a controversial statements, it Won't become this big of a discussion, but also, people are not dumb, cinematography, camera angle, colour scheme, and bgm can say whether you are glorifying certain things or presenting as it is, or making mockery out of it.And Vanga definitely use all these to make his main character look cool( and when a main character look too cool, youth will follow at least few sides of him/ her)

But to say this character is not flawed and his actions are perfectly normal, heroic even, is totally unfair. I think he tried to show that. But was not clear enough. Like you can interpret both ways. For example: he cheats on his wife and she still sleeps with him again. He points a gun at her and shoots also , and no one says anything to him at all. Even when she wants to leave, his son runs to him. So Rashmika is just standing there. Even if she wants to leave - she can’t truly ever. I think vanga kept it in open ended on purpose - so both sides can justify how they want. But if he was a truly responsible and mature director , he wouldn’t have kept it open ended.
