writerconsidered Yes, a joke. Mostly because most of Stalin’s purged and ‘murdered millions’ only appeared in records fabricated by the Trotskist and secretly pro-Western Soviet ruling elite in the 1960s-70s, and brought to infamy when so-called ‘archives’ were ‘declassified’ in the 1980s for the whole soviet population to see. It was so easy to write off the Soviet population decline in the 1930s and 40s due to the war of 1941-45, the true extent of the death counts in which are officially diminuted.

JS the Canuck that’s not very moral. My biology professor at University once said environmentalists are like religious fanatics. They act on feeling rather than logic and fail to foresee the consequences of their actions (RE: Introduction of Rabbits to Australia). Meanwhile, ecologists are legitimate scientists who don't just contemplate what action to take, but what the consequences of that action will be. Rather than banning hunting or overhunting, a balance needs to be maintained on an 'As Needed' basis. Sadly, humans have a habit of eliminating the predators that would naturally curb the numbers of certain prey species. As a result, overpopulation can become an issue. So while I dislike hunting personally, I understand that it is necessary to implement regulated hunting to keep certain populations under control.
@animalogic
@animalogic 5 жыл бұрын
Fair point! Though the hunting of the Saiga wasn't a population control thing. In the 20s it was for their meat, and more recently it was as an alternative to Rhinos. A strange proposition...
