Matt sure did have some big shoes to fill when he joined the band but man, I sure do miss that raw power and that tightness that Navene had. Matt feels so jazzy with it. Navene was just so on it.

I'm not sure if you are aware but Navene didn't write drums for this album. Tosin programmed them and Navene learned them.

​@@zacmilne9423 completely different set of skills required to play in post navene animals. they wouldn't be the same band without matt. weightless is also a cake walk compared to their newer records. i think most high level metal drummers could play entheos and you wouldn't notice much of a difference. there would be a noticeable difference in animals without matt.

I've been to 2 of their concerts and they're awesome! Navene plays the same underlying rhythm for each song every time like you would hear off their albums, but his fills are always different. He just gets on stage and grooves :-)

I just don't even know what to say after I saw this video. Brilliant, enthusiastic, accurate and powerful - yet seemingly stressless and easy. Heck, I showed this vid to my Mom, age 76, who immediatly wanted to hear it again, and again and again - though she has never listened to something else than Haydn, Schostakowitsch, Bizet or Strauss. There are so many great drummers out there in this genre, all with their own style, which makes them kind of incomparable to each other. Jay Postones, Alex Rudinger, Anup Sastry, Pat Skeffington and so on. Navene's a beast nonetheless, just listen to the old Animosity stuff!
