Jayden Knight people who think that are not monsters. Remember it's only recently that emotions have been seriously studied in animals. For a longest time scientists dismissed the possibility of emotions in animals as anthropomorphism and for good reason too. It was hard to remain objective in studying emotional behavior and the tools to study more objectively were limited at the time. Now we can look at hormonal changes and brain changes of an animal to determine its emotional capacity

It's not too surprising, they got long arms, very few animals have long arms and flexibility and we both share a common ancestor. Hugging is kind of a natural instinct. We lose anxiety, we're happier and live longer with hugs. It's pretty heartwarming nonetheless.

For a better chance at survival, im not doubting animals are emotionless but wolves have an instinct to socialize with their pack to keep it strong and coordinated in order to effectively hunt ultimately bettering their survival just as humans feel the need to create bonds to better our own survial, you'll find less of these emotions in solitary mammals with the exception of their mothers and mates because they do not a pack to survive, tale leopards for an example
