Animas Forks Ghost Town & Silverton in Colorado

Revisiting Silverton, this time with a vehicle that is capable to handle the roads. So we are heading up to Animas Forks, an old mining ghost town that was founded in 1880 at an elevaton of 11,160ft. Also visiting Silverton with the old steam train arriving in town.

I know they say you need a 4x4 to get to Animas Forks, I could do that in My Hyundai Accent, with no problem, but with that said I will make this trip this year but I will do it with my Ram 4X4 instead just to be on the safe side, I like that you made this video its better then using GPS or a map, I know what to look for, it will make a great road trip, thanks for sharing your adventure,

A vehicle that is capable to handle the roads? Thirty years ago I drove to Animas Forks in a Toyota CAMRY.

@@bavarianbynature after watching this video I decided to go there. Is there any phone reception at Silverton? Is there enough gas stations?

@@Andremx12 It is definitely worth going, especially if you have an off road capable vehicle. There is a gas station in Silverton. Not sure about cell service, I rarely check my phone when I am on these trips
