Shocking fact - This was co directed by Phil Nibbelink. To those of you who don't know him, he is an American animator and film director as well as comic book writer and illustrator known for his work on Disney films as character animator on the Fox and the Hound, the Black Cauldron, the Great Mouse Detective and the Academy Award-winning Who Framed Roger Rabbit and he joined Amblimation in 1989 to directed An American Tail: Fievel Goes West and later We're Back a Dinosaurs Story. He was originally going to direct Cats but the project was cancelled. After Amblimation closed its doors in 1997, he co founded his animation studio and made Puss in Boots 1999 film and the infamous movie Romeo and Juliet Sealed with a Kiss. This is honestly Phil Nibbelink's worse movie he ever directed and the lowest of his film career!

I just can’t believe an ex-Disney animator and director at Amblimation would direct this low-budget CGI Marmaduke adaptation. An ex-Disney animator would seem like the least likely person to direct this. I would’ve thought the director would be someone who worked on other low-budget CGI animated films like the Alpha & Omega sequels or Space Chimps 2: Zartoc Strikes Back or Happily N’Ever After 2, not somebody with a legitimately competent animation background.

As a kid,I remember seeing the 2010 version of Marmaduke as a kid,but now as a adult after hearing about and seeing this 2022 version,I consider Fox’s 2010 live-action movie way better than the 2022 Netflix one and owe it a apology because in spite of the 2010 film’s flaws,Owen Wilson sounded way better and did a good job playing Marmaduke,kept the fart jokes to a minimum,Marmaduke got better and more likable as the film went on,having funny moments I got a laugh at,the dancing dog scene and seeing Marmaduke surf was pretty cool,and it does try to live up to the spirit of the comic strip.

I had no idea who Marmaduke was until the live action movie came out and then I forgot about him until either the BlockBuster Buster or the Media Hunter reviewed the movie several years ago. I'm sure he has fans but I think it would be better if he stayed in the comic strips. Actually I think Marley & Me is a better Marmaduke movie since it's a comedy about a dog getting into trouble but still being lovable.

Oh man where do I begin At the very least I enjoy the 2010 movie I had decent memories with it and is miles better then this Netflix canceled so many projects because of this flim! And waste so many great actors like JK Simmons, David Koechner, Sumalee Montano, Nika Futterman & Fred Tatasciore (some play some of the show dogs if your wondering) And at least having Brain Hull in Hotel Transylvania Transformina at least he enjoy being being part of that flim but this I can differently regret doing this. And speaking of Pete Davinson he unfortunately he gonna played Dog Man in the upcoming Dog Man movie that comes out next January And when it comes to the mom yeah leave it to Pixar and Nickelodeon

I was taught animation in university & it seems like that the animators used rigging extremely poorly. An example was when Maraduke turned, he was dragged. This film is just a poorly down version of the live action film which comparing to this film makes it look like the best cinema film of all time. The whole plot makes no sense, why didn’t they just simply have him act like a bad dog or do something else instead of a giant fart cloud of stink? This actually makes me feel like that if these films can get on Netflix then Netflix needs to give animation students a chance because they can do something so much better than this.
