Wow. Please post it when you're done. I'm a little surprised that going from iMovie was so daunting. I thought the whole idea was to make FCPX be an easy transition from iMovie. It was certainly a shocker for us FCP legacy folks when we switched! Embrace it, you'll love it. And there's such a great plugin community out there!
@Csnumber15 жыл бұрын
This is an absolutely great tutorial that even seasoned FCPX users like myself will find enormously useful!! The patience of your tutorial is what I very much applaud more than anything. Oftentimes tutorials try to "hurry" up or try to add unnecessary attempts to be funny. But you don't!! Instead you took the time to explain what almost all of the "published parameters" DO!!! Very very few tutorials cover these settings!! Along with your "pop-ups" with timely "tips", I can't think of another tutorial that was as easy and informative to watch!! I will subscribe to your channel and keep up the very good work!! Funny thing is I was trying to figure out how to have a stroked out full screen text scroll from right to left and off the screen yesterday and this was perfectly timed as I think this is where I can accomplish it!!

This is the tutorial I've been searching for on custom titles! I knew that it was a powerful tool, but I haven't been able to find such a clear and well explained overview ANYWHERE. Most of what you achieved here was done without keyframing - that's where I'd been going wrong... all hell can break loose once you start introducing keyframes! Only thing that didn't quite work for me was sliding on those coordinates in the inspector to increase the figure, but that's no big deal. Thanks also for not saying "you guys" every nano second, it can be so distracting. Greetings from England, UK.

I just got FCPX, and am struggling learning some of the great things can be done in the software (I picked up IMOVIE pretty easily). This tutorial is top notch. I like that you take the time to show the effects as you explain them instead of just telling the audience "this is what happens when you do that" and leaving it at that with no visual. I subbed because I think there are plenty of other things I can learn from your tutorials, and believe me I have much to learn about FCPX. PS...you should have way more subscribers than 166.

BretFX I am sure you will. The info was cogent concise and easy to follow. It was a bit dry at times, but there was so much info you put out there I kept watching because I had no idea you could all that with key framing. I was losing hope I’d find anything new, all I could find was how to make glitch effects and wavy text effects and masking text to put it behind other objects. I’ll be keeping a keen eye on your channel to keep my skills growing. Wish I could more to help your channel grow but my outdoor community, much like myself, is largely technologically simple minded. Most use iMovie or other free software with limited capabilities. Lol.
@BretFX5 жыл бұрын
@@bombproofbushcraft sorry if it was dry. 😀 I'll try better. What other topics would you like to see? My goal is really more of the quick tip variety, but trying to find some topics not frequently covered, or topics I gave give some perspective on.
@bombproofbushcraft5 жыл бұрын
@@BretFX Don't worry about the "dry", its not your delivery :). I was trying to find a way to manipulated text. I am not sure what they call it, but basically being able to treat the text like it is putty and manipulate it and warp its shape (not like the distort tool). I am not sure if it is possible in FCPX, or if that kind of effect would have to be done in motion or keynote or some other graphics program and them imported as a png file. I do outdoors stuff, making items from the landscape, survival, camping etc. However I make a point that at the end of my instructional vids I do something funny and humorous. sometimes its straight forward and no SPFX needed, but I bought the program to do more special effects laden shorts for entertainment only. I will keep an eye out for your vids. Thanks again...oh yeah...DO NOT DO A DARN GLITCH EFFECT WITH TEXT...lol

I'm learning a lot in here but I can't figure to do the out position animation
@BretFX2 жыл бұрын
Glad I could help!
@BretFX2 жыл бұрын
The out animation is kinda messed up in the current version of FCP. Instead of it being limited to 2 sec, it stretches out across most of the title. Send feedback to Apple. But basically you'd just add an out position and it would animate to that position at the end of the title. Your title needs to be about 4-5 seconds to include an out animation.

You're welcome Bret! I take a lot of video along my travels here in the USA. My last trip was following old Route 66. As for what I would love to see is a plugin and/or software that would do the following; What I would like to do is follow and animate a route along Route 66 for example, on a map. Along the way highlighting and inserting video and/or pictures would be a huge plus. I've seen some maps that can do this in part but, they don't follow a road precisely. The few I've seen only make straight lines as the bird flies, sort of speak. A map plugin with streets, cities, etc. with the capability of animating as I explained would be in a word, awesome. Thanks again for your tips and tutorials........ You truly do an awesome job at it! Ray 👍😊
