fr this is exactly my situation. I still don't understand one thing though. You know this typical animation, where the first letter gets visible(by having the opacity animated) and then moving to the left while the next character gets visible. How would I do this in fusion?

@@oskarneftel3756 This can be achieved using the follower modifier. Apply a follower modifier and go into the "Style" tab (specifically the one in the modifier tab) and you'll see a control for opacity. Keyframe this across time and then add in your desired amount of delay between the characters in the "Timing" tab. Then go back into the Tools section of the inspector window for the text and keyframe the tracking slider in the "Text" tab. You can achieve the same flick style animation in the spline tab too 👍

The "Word by Word" effect is done inefficiently, you don't have to set an extra keyframe one frame after each word. Set they keyframes where the words are, select all the frames in the spline editor (keyboard shortcut should be "a"), and hit the "step in" button at the bottom of the spline editing window (it's the first button that makes a right angle). You'll see the keyframe graph change where the line for the animation will jump up suddenly on a keyframe. Also, the reason the "Position" stuff is in the shading tab and not the transform one is to give the different shading elements on a single text node their own options rather than being only able to give it to the entire node. This is done for things like drop shadow and border for the text.
@RyanOsborneUK2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback 😄You're totally right! I'm familiar with the step in button and I see what you're saying completely. Same result but d'oh! - way more efficient they way you describe. Thank you! And yeah I know what you mean about the position too. For example, if we wanted to have the stroke outline animate on a different parameter to the fill, then doing this on a "Global" position setting would be tricky. It just seems odd to me that there isn't at least the option to control position from within the transform tab 🤔
@OlNoName7202 жыл бұрын
@@RyanOsborneUK I guess the Transform tab is only meant to modify the character, words, and/or lines for a node rather than the whole thing. If you want to move the whole node, there's the "Center" option for the X and Y position under the Layout tab.

Hey Ryan, thanks for the fantastic tutorials. I having an issue with the shape reveal animation. I can't get the background to reveal only one side as you did in 8::40. Could you please elaborate on what you did there?
@RyanOsborneUK Жыл бұрын
Yes! Sorry I maybe rushed over this part. It can be a little confusing because mask nodes don’t have pivot controls (they are usually always anchored to the centre of the mask). This means that your rectangle shape has to be keyframed to move from left to right at the same time as your width animation. Which will give the appearance of animating in from one side (if you position it correctly ). It can be a little bit of trial and error!

This has probably been asked before but I can't find a solution - How can I make my animation change depending on the clip length? I have a popping-in animation for my text. Let's say I need to trim this clip. As soon as I cut off the start of the clip, the animation is gone. Makes sense. I can see there are some Text+ presets that adjust for this. If, for instance, I trim the "Fade On" preset, the fading just gets faster instead of cut in half. I'm a noob at using Fusion so I don't really know what to look for 🙃

Great videos, thank you for uploading them. I'm sure I'm doing something silly here but I tried following the first example, the slide text (haven't tried the others yet) and I've added the two keyframes at the start and then gone to the spline editor and set both keyframes to Out Back Cubic but my animation still just comes in from the side to the centre. It's as though it's not honouring the spline at all. Am I doing something silly somewhere possibly? Thanks.
@MarkBowenPiano Жыл бұрын
Sorry, please ignore the above. I had selected both keyframes but then I was control clicking on the actual line and selecting the ease. It looked correct in the spline editor but for some reason doesn't work? Only when I control click in an empty space does it work. I can't for the life of me see what the difference is though as they both come out looking exactly the same in the spline editor except the one way works and the other doesn't! Very strange.
