At least with Mac and Bloo there was the fact that their "friendship" was born from Mac literally inventing Bloo because...imaginary friend. Bloo was an idealized version of whatever Mac thought would make a "cool" friend at the time of creation but while Bloo didn't really change or become a better person, Mac became a very nice kid that refused to ditch his brain-baby. The other shows don't really much of an excuse, though. Not unless they just wanted to show what a dysfunctional and kind of toxic friendship looked like.

I am only noticing in hindsight, but bloo's behaviour post flanderization makes me wonder why Mac imagined him in first place ? (sure some episodes imply mac can be as destructive or as mischivious as bloo, but that feels like an overcorrection toward the wrong direction) Especially given some early episodes almost implied bloo was a "trollish but well behaved enough even if childish and sometimes he had weird logic to do stuff" BUT JUST WATCH some of the fist 20 episodes and you could think foster traumatized him (basically the pilot, that first episode post pilot with so many rules, then that episode where they get lost at foster's upper levels, or that one where he gets sick for playing in the rain and hey confuse him for a ghost and try to "Bust" him by trapping him in the vaccuum cleaner). Is like if bloo's flanderization was a way to move away that implications of foster traumatizing him and just shifting blame on bloo having always being like that

@PIB20005 жыл бұрын
The writers didn't seem to understand that in order to form a good friendship with someone, most people look for nice or attractive qualities in other people. A real and logical person is able to recognize when a friendship is toxic. Here's what I think would happen if Adam was realistic: Adam: "Jake, this is bullshit!" Bull: "Sorry, I couldn't make it to the toilet." Jake: "What are you talking about?" Adam: "Our friendship, if you can even call it that. I've tried my best to be a loyal bestie, but you always act like a dick to me. The hell did I ever do to you? For two years, I've basically acted like a doormat and let you step all over me. I've had enough of this horseshit!" Horse: "Does it really smell that bad?" Jake: "Huh? Oh, sorry Adam. I was just painting smiley faces on my buttcheeks." Adam: "And what the fuck is up with all the butt stuff? You always talk about your ass like it's the best thing in the world. It's pretty disgusting and creepy how much you shove that thing in my face." Jake: "Not my fault my butt is certified comedy gold." Adam: "I swear, whoever animates this show probably has some strange monkey butt fetish. Like, remember that time you literally inflated your ass? That was like something straight off of DeviantArt." Jake: "Well, if you don't like my ass, you can kiss it." Adam: "Dude, nobody genuinely likes you. At this point, we only hang out with you out of pity. If it weren't for me, Windsor, Slips, Lupe, and Ingrid putting up with your stupid butt shenanigans and other shit, you'd be by yourself. I'm surprised I didn't realize this earlier, with how many times you've made an ass of yourself." Donkey: "Hey, that's deeply insulting! 01:29 Let’s not forget that Pickle Rick somehow won an Emmy last year despite that fans of Rick and Morty thought there are other episodes that are way better to be nominated than Pickle Rick. To be fair, this show is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Sure, it has some flaws and you did have a point that sometimes the jokes and humor can be annoying but I still find it funny at times. Plus, compared to shows like Squirrel Boy and Out of Jimmy’s Head, this show (outside of Jake Spidermonkey) is at least watchable compared to those shows. Interestingly enough, the creators of this show eventually end up becoming the showrunners of the current Littlest Pet Shop on the Hub, which is decent.

Yes, that's the actual, full title of the show. And, sorry for bringing up bad memories, dude. I loved Class Of 3000 as well. And, I loved listening to OutKast too. Honestly while the mid 2000s had a lot of bad friendship dynamics, one that I appreciated was the one between Lil D and Eddie in Class Of 3000. While there was definitely a bit of clash between the two, in episodes where the two were paired, like Eddie's Money, it was made clear that the two are genuinely friends. Lil D taught Eddie many tricks while they were stuck on the street. And while there was one joke about Lil D knowing that he would outrun the dog if he could outrun Eddie, he did in turn help Eddie into the dumpster to hide with him, so it's not like he just abandoned him. You can tell that while Lil D is a slightly arrogant street wise kid, and Eddie is a gullible, sheltered boy instead, the dynamic they have works seamlessly and I honestly wish they had more episodes about just the two of them. Their duo was a lot better than anything else the channel gave us.

I've truly tried my hardest to give this show a chance when it first came out. I really wanted to enjoy this show, and while I wasn't expecting this to be as memorable as truly funny slapstick cartoons like Rocko's Modern Life, Ed Edd n Eddy, Animaniacs, and early SpongeBob, I was at least hoping I'd get some enjoyment out of this. But the more episodes I watch, the more redundant the antics get. None of the characters are likable (except for Windsor, the only interesting character of the whole show), the gross-out humor was repetitive and tedious, and the concept made no sense at all. Look, I'm not one to judge the concept of a cartoon show since some can work if executed correctly, and I don't ask for logic and nitpick every single detail or foible the show has, but there always have to be a legitimate explanation behind it, because while there doesn't have to be logic in everything, too many enigmas for a concept cartoon can confuse the audience. You want to make them laugh, not confuse the fuck out of them. In this show's case, why would the teachers at Adam's old school automatically send Adam to a school replete with animals? He clearly looks like a human, and nobody has even bothered to run some tests on him (or anything similar as such) to determine he's part animal. Also, if Adam was aware of his named being misspelled, why hasn't he done anything to change the error? As for the characters, Jake is honestly the most unlikable character on the show. He's basically a carbon copy of Bloo from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, only with less redeeming qualities and no punishments received whatsoever. Plus his obsession of his own ass isn't funny in the slightest. It's repetitive as fuck and gets old very fast, especially since that the only joke that revolves around him. I wouldn't say he's as unlikable as Johnny Test (I thought the show was decent. Just the main character himself is unlikable), but he's still the most despised character in the show. The other characters are just one-dimensional stereotypes with little to no depth and not worth discussing, with Windsor being the only character who had more of a personality and interesting quirks. As mediocre as Camp Lazlo was, it as least had some memorable characters and enjoyment to back it up. This show is just flat-out poor, and there's a reason why it isn't memorable for anything other than nostalgia.

Im glad someone is actually talking about the abusive nature of 'friendships' in mid 2000's shows. Ive personally been abused by friends in the past. It starts off and you think its fun banter. You think your balancing each other out and its this really cool thing and eventually you'll both find equilibrium. But no. If your a naturally more "Submissive" (thats the best word for it, not implying anything sexual here) person, being around someone who is so violently domineering is like walking a tight rope. Some of my best friends where more outgoing, stand up, in your face kind of people. But that was only AFTER I was able to learn to stick up for myself against them if things got to far. BEFORE I learned that skill, I was abused by someone who claimed to be my friend. And I do partially blame these shows for glorifying that dynamic. It works, sometimes, but you have to be able to fight back.

I did not ever realize as a 6 year old with Autism back when this show was a thing, that Jake had such an obsession with his ass, he combines inflation at the same time, with BUTTS! CN humor in the mid-2000's is beyond wack, I cannot find a word myself that defines how badly sick the repetitive butt humor is in that show! Also, love that timed usage of JonTron, many thanks for making me laugh for 10+ minutes!

I think it would be clever if they called the school, "E.. R. Burroughs Academy," or some variant of that as it could play into the Tarzan-esque situation. After all, Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote the Tarzan stories. While it may not be something kids would necessarily get it would make for a good literary reference.

It's kinda a thing a lot of reviewers do as they slowly review more and more stuff. They run into something that's worse than anything they've ever seen and claim that it's the worst thing ever. But they don't realize how far the rabbit hole of badness goes, resulting in them constantly revising what their "worst thing ever" is for a while. Eventually though they start compartmentalizing their "worsts" into being the worst of certain groups of thiings rather than being the worst thing overall
@WillieManga4 жыл бұрын
No, he didn't say it was the worst. He said it was the 4th worst. No, wait, not the show itself, but JAKE was the 4th worst.
