By recreating old maps from 1860 and forward you can see how Stockholm's railways have grown, from the national rail in 1860, to trams, local trains, metro, commuter rail and speedy trams.
Sourced from historical tram maps from Stockholms Spårvägar AB from varying years, and the booklet "Stockholms Spårvägar 60 år" (Esselte 1937).

Mycket bra! Jag har sett att det finns många såna här kartor som visualiserar spårtrafikens historiska utveckling för många städer i världen. Kudos till dig som gör det för Stockholm.

New to the channel. When I visited Stockholm a few years ago, I fell in love with this city and generally, Sweden. Thanks for your amazing content! It encouraged me to learn Swedish, which is even easier, since you put English subtitles in most of your videos. I am greatful for that! I hope you will continue the Tunnelbaneracet series this or next year, if you want to of course. Cheers from the other side of the Baltic Sea, Poland! :)

Thanks a lot! Great to hear you find them of use. We've already recorded a third tunnelbaneracet 2022, it will be published end of August (is the plan). I like Poland too. I was in Warsaw some seven year ago or so, and we really liked it. And your country are heroes when it comes to supporting Ukraine!

@ That's a very nice thing to hear! 7 years ago Warsaw was a little bit different than now. Since then it grew to something some people call "The Manhattan of Europe" which is kind of true. The reason for this is that after the war the communist rebuilt Warsaw using typical, communist architecture. The only thing they did accuratly during this process was the reconstruction of the Old Town and some other buildings. Since the aging communist architecture is not pleasing for eyes, they just decided to demolish most them, one after another, and put skyscrapers in their place (these buildings were here and will stay with us for a long time though). We are slowly getting rid of the oppressive past. Hope this was an intresting thing to read. Or maybe you already knew that? Let me know if u want to!

Wow, 1967 was armageddon for trams! The impacts of the change from right hand to left hand drive would be a very interesting subject.

Somehow it worked in Gothenburg though :) They still have a vast tram system. 1930-60s were decades of the bus and metro. That was the new technology. If we kept the trams we wouldn't necessarily have the metro - and that would have been a disaster.

Might want to change "minuter" into "minutes" in the title.

Too bad all the tram lines disappeared! Will they make a come back one day?

Nockebybanan is still around.

Not in the shape it once had. If we kept the trams we would not have had the metro as extended. The metro has added capacity that trams never could have provided. I guess trams will re-emerge in the forms of Tvärbanan, connecting suburbs, and supporting the metro. But rebuilding as vast a system there once was seems redundant when the metro is around
