Exactly. There seems to be this idea in content (online recently & even on tv my whole life) that as long as you were trying to shield someone from a worse truth, whatever you did to not let the person find out is just fine. Like, nobody wants their teen daughter to have to confront death like that, especially when the situation feels hopeless to the parents as well. We can all agree on that. But she said "it was obvious by their actions they don't care about my feelings at all". That's absolutely devastating. Like imagine being her in that moment, thinking your parents genuinely couldn't care less. Imagine feeling that alone, snooping through moms laptop & finding out you're dying. That YOUR PARENTS treated you badly & made you feel unloved so you wouldn't be aware you're fucking DYING.

I thought for a moment the parents had bought her an e-scooter as a surprise for when she got home from hospital, but with the medical bills, they couldn't afford to have only their money pay for it, so they took her money too, but thought it would be okay as this way, all her hard work would have contributed. But no, it got really dark very fast but had a happy ending. It was cool seeing all those references to you.

Folks, as someone who had a cancerous tumor at 12, this situation is MUCH scarier than how a diagnosis of a malignant tumor is supposed to be. There needs to be scans, and if the docs see something wrong with the scans, they send you to a surgeon bc there needs to be a biopsy to find out if it's cancer or not. if it's a cancerous tumor, the patient gets referred to an oncologist, a doc who specializes in treating cancers, to discuss further treatment. The patient must be present for all of this. Medical personnel are required to be honest with the patient about what's going on in their body. Just had to share bc having a tumor can be scary, but i can't think of a way she could not know anything was wrong irl

I don’t think doctors would recommend you having an electric scooter if you’ve had a brain tumor or brain surgery. It can take years to recover from those types of injuries and your risk level of dying is super high if you got a head injury after a tumor surgery. She ain’t never getting that scooter

My parents robbed me and put me in debt. I got in trouble, I got a job to pay for court fees. I was under the impression it was THOUSANDS, it was $800. I'd paid it off within my first two checks. In my state you had to have a guardian on your account if you're a minor. So my mother had full access to my account. I went to buy something one day and found out not only was there no money, I OWED money! Idk how much but it was 3 years of min wage part time checks(roughly $7... It was 6.50 when I started and rose to 7.25 by the time I found out)
