@kermitSewerSlide imo "it's over isn't it" is the most heartbreaking and soul crushing one and no other song compares, but I also found "here comes a thought", "what's the use of feeling blue","drift away" are pretty close after. "full disclosure" is kinda moody as well, "do it for her" talks about dying for someone because you only live for them (again Pearl with her melancholy rip), "tower of mistakes" is really short but sad as well. When Pearl, Greg and Steven left and Pearl sang "it's over isn't it" all the songs themed around it were sad tbf.

I even like to think of this song as Plankton thinking of the old days when him and Mr. Krabs were friends, before the formula tore them apart (he doesn't want to admit it, but it tares him up inside. Plus in this context, it would make the song much more sad)

If I have to interpret the Context? Plankton had to get the Secret Recipe for Krust Patts thanks to Karen who gave him the recipe to send her on a kind of Infiltration Mission but she decided to stay at the Krusty Krab because at least they pay attention to her, but as a thank you for at least the few good ones. times they had, she decides to send Plankton the Secret Recipe but she will still modify it and make the Restaurant improve, making Plankton have an empty victory That's why here he sings, he admitted that he finally has the Recipe but it won't be the same without being able to create Inventions and Gadgets that help him steal it, much less having the Excitement of wanting to steal the Recipe, even more so if Karen isn't there to see him succeed and even if it was? He would be under the same predicament of losing his Only Purpose in life which was to Steal the Kruty Patt Recipe, in the end he understands that he received his entire life but that was what gave him his purpose in life and that is why he regrets it. who can't move on? Just regret it and understand that it's finally over, you got it, but at what cost?

Brief Plot Summary (W.I.P S1) Spongeven Universe and the Crystal Fish - Patrathyst, Garnward, and Pearl, - go on adventures to defeat monstrous beasts across the seven seas. However, Spongeven’s universe is rocked when he finds a mirror with a helmet on it, responding to his conversations and actively talking to him. The other Crystal Fish try to stop Spongeven, but he eventually frees the animal inside - Sandy Lazuli. From there, she swims up to the shore to return to a place named “Shoreworld.” This reveals to him the existence of other (non-Crystal Fish) creatures, in turn also revealing that the monsters he fought were once Crystal Fishes like Patrathyst and Garnward. Soon after, a green fin-shaped submarine lands in Bikini City. On it are Sandy Lazuli, Karendot, and Larryasper. They take the Crystal Fish as hostage, and begin a trip to Shoreworld. However, the Crystal Fish manage to defeat Larryasper and Karendot, in the process revealing to Spongeven that Garnward is 2 different fish in a trenchcoat (explaining his many legs). These 2 fish are Mr Kruby and Mrs Puffire. After the submarine crashes, Larryasper puts themself and Sandy Lazuli, but Sandy manages to force them up into the ocean surface using lasso chains. Meanwhile, Karendot flees from the Crystal Fish and hides out in the depths of the Ocean.

Here's my contacts for this: Plankton for years has been trying and failing to steal the krabby patty secret formula, his latest evil plan was to make Karen go to the krusty krab, get job there and analyze the formula right under their noses. but to plankton despair, Karen actually likes working with Mr. Krabs and switch sides then plankton went over there to confront her and that's when she had enough of him and told him she didn't love him and she never wanna see him again. and then karen to list plankton's many failures and bad qualities then Mr. Krabs came out and joined in to ridicule him, then Squidward joined in say some choice words to his well, Patrick started to make dumb jokes about him, pearl made fun of the fact that he was terrified of her. soon the whole restaurant what mocking and laughing at him and after all that Mr. Krabs just grabbed him, carried him by the antennae and dropped right outside the door. before he went back inside laughing, he pulled out a krabby patty and said while shaking the patty just out of his reach mockingly "face it. plankton, you're never win" right then and there after so many years of pain and humiliation, he decided to do the one thing all those years ago... ...give up

Lore I guess: Plankton and Karen have a son! Well, a computer son. But Karen has left Plankton, after all these years of dealing with his tomfoolery, she can't keep doing this. So shes working at the Krusty Krab now. Now she seems to be taking interest in Mr.Krabs. Plankton is left alone, with nothing in his life except one last thing keeping him going:Taking care of his son, and making him the best he can be. And though he resents the fact she left him, he loves his son more then he hates his failures. He has the formuler he's always wanted, Karen gave it to him before she left. But it doesn't matter to him anymore. Without Karen, without the schemes, its worthless. And the Chum bucket is impending to close down.
