I think most people just find it difficult and annoying because there's no layers and no onion skin function. Onion skin is standard for animation programs and saves a lot of time creating keyframes and in-betweens, because you can look at whichever isolated layers or frames you'd like. For someone of the same skill level with about the same experience in a dedicated animation software, the result would likely not only take less time, it would would likely be better simply because the program has some stuff MS Paint doesn't have.
@Moocow2003
@Moocow2003 6 жыл бұрын
I know there are ways to get around the lack of layers (hard to explain but they're out there) but I would personally find the lack of onion skin / the terrible workflow so distracting! I currently use Firealpaca but I really want a program which offers the ability to have multiple layers per frame ;-;

Yes and no? She's got skill, but it's not like MS Paint _makes_ your art inherently terrible. Just that most that use it are amateurs considering intermediates and pros usually have the money to buy expensive programs or download others- usually both for the stereotype that MS Paint is terrible plus the fact that they need lots of features.

This video helped me better understand the key framing process. I plan to use it for my future animations. Also, the only problem I have with this video is the music from the radio since a lot of it is copyrighted (a notable example being the song "I Get Around" by the Beach Boys). Should we be concerned about that?
@ChaoChao0071

I wouldn't worry. I'll I've ever gotten are claims, and I haven't gotten a claim here yet. And all the other music is too quiet and is drowned out by my voice. And too sped-up on the, well... sped-up parts. Not to mention the quality isn't very clear.

I have watched a lot of videos on how to animate on ms paint and movie maker and it was always same thing and I really would like to show my ideas on the internet but when i put it to action i get lazy and unmotivated because of the animation process I been through. Not only that, you explain everything so well which save me time trying to figure it out. I'd like to make funny animations or really interesting ones but never could because I wasn't satisfied on how I was doing it (it's a little hard to explain haha sorry^^;) now i can live in peace instead of looking back at my previous frames thank you VwV

Hello fellow MSPaint animator. I'd just like to say, Good Lord! How did you animate before key framing? You are way more talented than me! Also a trick for getting rid of an older frame, in case you didn't know: Left click color you want gone, right click background color, then use the eraser tool and RIGHT click. It will erase only your left click color. Make the eraser real big to save time.

It's dead simple to use if you know how animation timelines work. It's also extremely lightweight due to the simplicity. It boots instantly and it runs great even on a Linux emulation on my low end smart phone.

have you ever tried Fire Alpaca? It's a completely free art application and it has an onion skin mode that acts the same way as the keyframe lines you have there, it also has the same tools as paint, albeit with a different interface for them so it acts the same way as this, but it also has stabilizers that are compatible with mice and a lot of brush options on top of it all, you can go and export all the layers(frames) to one folder so you won't have to save each individual frame i recommend you try it out, because I really think the process will be much faster and I feel your animations will greatly improve

I'm having trouble doing this. I will admit that I'm slightly confused by the steps. My problem is that when I go to use the square shape on the image, the inside of the square isn't the color of the background image. The colors are reverse of what is shown in the video, despite having my color swatches set up correctly. Then when I go to paste my transparent selection, the image is unaffected. Do you have any idea of what I could be doing wrong? (it also has the same effect as a non-transparent selection)
